Second Visit!Happy to say I found this place near my office as a lunch-away-from-my-desk option. LOCATION: this place is located in a shopping center on De Zavala/I-10. Lots of parking! There are a few ADA parking spots in front and located right next to an Einstein Bagels. INSIDE: This place is a smaller establishment, seating 11 tables that seat at least 4 each. Current pop music plays overhead, a lil louder than I'd like. Other than that, there isn't much noise in this space. I'm totally fine with that! The decor is confusing, they should stick to a modern Asian elegance, but no one's asking me so... THE MENU: lots of options to choose from! Options may be mostly Taiwanese and Szechuan by the looks of it. The hot jasmine tea is delightful, and come in an ornate cast iron teapot and a wooden tea cup. I'm in love! Searching for wooden tea cups online stat! I saw different options from lamb, fish, shrimp, pork belly, tofu, chicken and beef. Something for everyone's palate. THE FOOD: it's a cold, wet day in San Antonio so I order a Taiwanese beef noodle soup with a lil bit of chilli oil for spice. I opt for egg noodles, which slide pass the lips so easily! Like a baby seal on a slip-n-slide and right down the hatch. The broth is good, a bit sour for my taste, but I'm glad for the experience. The beef is so, so tender. How did they do that?! It's flavorful and although they deny it (I ask) it's suspiciously a lot like beef tongue. Would've loved more veggies in it, but hey, it's authentic Taiwan style so who I am to demand they change it? All in all, it was another good experience. I recommend this place for those seasoned palates that can appreciate authentic Asian flavors and for those who are curious and enjoy new foods. Heads up: You won't find American-Chinese cuisine here. I'm part (Cantonese) Chinese so I am always looking for some good, AUTHENTIC Asian eats. If you got some suggestions, hmu!

Unassuming place in the middle of a strip mall, but the food's quite good. Kudos to the fast service and the fact that they serve some authentic Chinese dishes in addition to the more Westernized fare. Tried the Kung Pao Shrimp and the Mongolian Beef. Both served up hot, and with a nice amount of spice for each dish. Ended up taking some home where it was finished that evening. Recommended if you're in the area! This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below.5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here.4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary.3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad.2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here.1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

Came here for dinner with a friend earlier this week. I don't have too much to say about the ambiance - it felt like your average Chinese restaurant. The menus were nice, though. Thoroughly bound and hefty. The two ladies at the cash out were super friendly, and were kind enough to seat me while I waited for my friend to arrive. We ordered the Lovers Beef (a cold, refreshing appetizer), the Xialongbao (wrapper had good chew, filling was nicely flavored - wish it had a bit more brothy-ness on the inside), what I think was the Sweet Garlic Beef (It was spicy and had lots of garlic flavor), and the Dongpo Pork (tender, delicious, sweet). My choices (xialongbao and dongpo pork) were excellent. The pork belly in particular was probably my favorite dish of the evening. It had a sweet, stick sauce and came semi-pre-sliced. Sliced enough to cut tender pieces of it with a spoon. In short, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed everything we ordered.Would I come back? Maybe. Would I order for delivery? Absolutely.

I ordered the sesame chicken and upgraded my rice to fried rice; I also got the veggie spring rolls that came with 2 dipping sauces. I picked up my order, so I did not really take in the scenery too much. From what I saw, the restaurant was small and cozy, and it looked clean. The front wall of the restaurant is a window, and it lets in a lot of natural light. I picked up my food in the evening, close to sunset, and the lighting made the restaurant look even cozier. When I picked up my order, the restaurant was not busy, so I got my food pretty fast. The lady I talked to was very nice and helpful; there was a misunderstanding when I was picking up my order and the lady at the front cleared it up quickly. I gave the restaurant 3 stars because of the food. The fried rice was nice; I liked that it did not have a strong flavor, since I had two other things to eat as well. Also, I would say you get a nice portion of rice. The veggie spring rolls did not have a strong flavor either, which was fine; the dipping sauce added more flavor. My issue was with the chicken. I don't know if it was fried for too long or if the chicken was old, but it was very dry. I don't know how to put this, but the chicken was so dry that I could not swallow it without a fight-- and that was after chewing for a long time. The flavor was pretty good, I don't usually get sesame chicken, but I tried it because I saw a lot of good reviews on it. The chicken came with two pieces of perfectly steamed broccoli, which I also liked. Overall, everything was pretty basic, nothing stood out, except for the chicken for being way too dry. I don't know if I would come back, I liked most of the food, but now I have a container of chicken that I am not looking forward to eating. My entire meal cost about $22, so I'm little disappointed that large portion of it is hard to eat.

For our usual Chinese Sunday dinner delivery, we decided to try some place different. Glad we did because not only was the food tasty, but they had a wider selection of unique items. For an appetizer, we opted for the spicy wontons, which were really good, but could have definitely been spicier, so I added some chili oil. For our entrees, we chose the sliced pork noodles, which my son and I loved. They were plentiful with a good amount of pork and balanced nicely with veggies. Finally, the sesame chicken, which was okay, but definitely improved upon once I crisped it up in the air fryer. We would not order this again, but we will definitely order from here again and try some of their other many options.

This past Friday, we finally decided to try @tigerchinesecuisine for dinner. It's a Houston-based restaurant that have come into town 2 years ago. They have a very extensive menu so there's many foods to enjoy. It's an AAPI restaurant but not one of the participating ones.We tried their Pork Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) and they were good. They didn't have the typical vinegar sauce to dip though but you do get quite a few for the order. Dad wanted to try the Shrimp Roll. We had the Minced Beef Soup, which was better with black vinegar. The Whole Sweet and Sour Fish was perfectly cooked and yummy sauce! The fish was perch. We also had the Garlic Eggplant. Definitely a great meal and highly recommend them.

We meet a friend here for a dinner. Tiger has high rating and close to our friend house in Dallas. The restaurant with small seating capacity but enough for the local customers. We saw a lot of take out during our visit. The first dish is the Mongolian beef. Beef is tender with good sweet tangy sauce. This is a good dish. The second dish is the Steam fish with ginger. I recommend this dish because the fish is fillet has no bone. The fish is fresh and great with ginger and house soy sauce. The third dish is the Dry fry green bean with mince pork. This is a lovely vegetable dish great with rice to go along with. The last dish is the tea leaf smoke duck. I think this dish they need work. The tea leaf tastes only lightly. Not strong enough. It did not come with special salt to go with it. Overall the service is good. The food comes out quick except the smoke duck. I like fish. Good restaurant to have in this area.

Pretty bougie feeling and slightly pricey, but the food was delish enough to make up for it. I absolutely love Mapo Tofu and theirs is the best I've ever had. Definitely a bit spicy but i love that.
