Puffy TacosWe live in DFW area, no puffy tacos anywhere. Whenever we are in San Antonio, puffy tacos are a must. Always get Mexican Dinner with puffy taco. It has EVERYTHING!

THIS PLACE WAS SO DAMG YUMMY! The tortillas were phenomenal! Like these brought childhood memories of my late grandmothers tortillas and I use that seldomly lol. The tortilla soup actually had chicken in there compared to most places and tasted delicious! Our waitress was super attentive and sweet! Ensured we were refilled on drinks and asked if we needed anything else! The place was smaller and quaint but super clean and cozy! Definitely recommend this place!

While I found that this place is a good basic breakfast spot. They have everything you want from tacos two waffles and all your breakfast needs. The food was good but the atmosphere was a little bit rundown and the restaurant felt a little dirty. but overall the prices are good in the service is average, so if you're looking for a quick breakfast, this is a good place

Legit the worst meal I've ever in San Antonio. We each took a bite or two, paid and rolled out. Went to Pepe's. Somehow I spent 45 dollars for two people to not eat. Lemonade was the one redeeming part but for 4 dollars I got a full cup of ice and maybe 6-8 ounces of lemonade. Bacon and beans are inedible. Chorizo and potatoes was about the same. Anywhere is better than here. The wait staff was friendly. But the food is so bad I wouldn't eat it for free.

Waffle was good, but it needed to be cooked a little more for my taste. Chips were stale. Salsa is just ok kinda bland. The crispy taco was great but everything else was just plain, nothing special. The service was really slow. I doubt we'll be back.

As a long time customer I won't be going back. I was sickened to see a long time waitress come ask if I was finished ,look in the tortilla warmer &see 1 uneaten tortilla, flip the lid, walk my dirty plate over to the dirty dish bin, the carry the tortilla warmer, with the uneaten tort into the kitchen. I can't go back without thinking I may have someone else's uneaten tort on my plate or taco. I'd like them to know how that 1 tortilla cost them a long time customer, possible more that read this, food sales, & tips.

I waited 40 minutes for one plate of enchiladas, after that long I just got up and left! Our waitress also didn't bring us a cup of water like we asked. I was told "I have to find a cup" even though there was plastic cups right behind the bar, we never received a cup. Also while we sat there for 40 minutes waiting she did not come by one time to ask if we were ok or anything, just sat at the bar talking. I will never come here again. Don't waste your time either!

I used to go here all the time when I was a kid; it's still good. The flour tortillas are the best in the city imo. Fluffy, floury, delicious. The service is fast and attentive. They treat you like family. It's an old dinner so it's not the most stylish setting, but you go for the food and the service, and in my case, the nostalgia. Breakfast tacos all the way.

Was debating on making a review but I think my experience was so bad, a review is warranted. I came in with my father on the 1 year anniversary of my mom's passing because this was their favorite restaurant. The Austin Hwy location NEVER disappoints but this location is the only one open on Sundays, so we came here. What was already a solemn day was quickly made even worse by our server. She takes our order and I notice she doesn't write it down, but I give her the benefit of the doubt thinking she's one of the good ones who can memorize orders well. I order a Stephanie's Favorite, queso on side. When the food arrives, it's a completely different dish. She goes, "that's what you got right?" And I'm like uhh, no? I didn't even know what plate she served me but she goes "ohhh I'm sorry, I mixed up the Stephanie's Favorite with the Mikes Favorite!". She takes it back, brings me the right plate, but dear god was it the most pitiful dish I've ever seen in my life. I have several years in food service and immediately I knew that my plate had to have been a dead plate, hands down. The egg was so overcooked it looked like it had disintegrated into rubbery little pieces. The migas were chewy and cold. The queso was coagulated on top yet runny and lukewarm at the same time? Since the beans were on the bottom of the plate, they were still warm, but everything on top was cold, meaning it probably wasn't even under a heat lamp so who knows how old that plate was. Not fresh at all and it should have never left the window in that condition. The line cook, expo, and server, should have all stopped this plate before it even touched my table but they didn't. BUT, because I've been a server for years, I still did my best to eat it since our server had already messed up once, she seemed visibly stressed, and she mentioned she had fallen earlier? I gave her some grace and decided to just take the L. I'm about 2/3 of the way eating my gross plate when she comes over to check on us and I'm honest with her about how awful my food was. She apologizes, asks if I wanted it heated up, but I decline because the microwave is only gonna make it worse. She leaves and I HEAR HER loud and clear as day talking about me, and berating me for complaining yet "she already ate it all." Mind you, I speak fluent Spanish so I hear everything, including the names she's calling me. I immediately stopped eating. I turn around to see her and another employee staring at me. I go, "Yeah I'm eating it because I'm hungry!" She comes back and I tell her "this plate should have never left your kitchen in the first place!" Instead of offering to remake it right away, she blames it on me not telling her sooner about my plate & sure, I can acknowledge that maybe I should have spoken up sooner but because of the sad mood I was already in, and because she was visibly running around stressed out, I sincerely didn't want to be a bother! Instead, I told her I heard everything you were saying about me, so I'm not finishing my food, don't worry. She takes the plate and walks away & again, I hear her saying more things to the kitchen staff. She comes back & tells me that the line cook agreed that the plate shouldn't have been sent out like that (lol) and NOW he's offering to remake it. But I declined again because I just wanted to leave at this point. She condescendingly apologises profusely again to me and my dad, and condescendingly tells me, again, that I should've said something sooner but that she's "not blaming me", it's just "advice for next time.", in her words. She also lied and said she had taken off my plate from the bill but she didn't, the bill was originally $28 but I paid $25, so I was given a discount but I didn't need or want any kind of financial retribution, so that's the least of my concerns. I left feeling so disappointed and like the situation was handled so poorly by her, especially since I know she was just trying to save face for a tip but from the way she was speaking about me behind my back, I know it wasn't genuine. I still tipped her $10 because my server guilt knows that we're not perfect, just human. But what an experience!
