The Mix

They had a live band when we went in, it was kind surf rock. We really enjoyed their sound. We played darts, I got a pear cider on tap which is hard to find where I'm from in California. The service was fast, and friendly. They have pool tables there, and places to sit. A nice patio outside.

10/10 place to get wasted. That's literally all you need to know. Cheap and loud. Cool people and strong drinks.

I have so many great memories here. I met Union Underground here, heard many great bands, and I've headbanged the night away on Metal Mondays.The Mix has a great local neighborhood chill vibe, and the drinks are very reasonable. Bathrooms are a bit scary and look like something out of Saw but hey it's an old dive bar...so I guess part of the charm? The staff has always been friendly and attentive even when stupid busy.They have a cool lounge by the pool tables with a leather sofa that I like to sink into.I was sad to see the little private room in the back with the loungers and TV'S gone. I adored that room for chatting with the interesting people I would meet here in a space that reminded me of my highschool bestie's livingroom.

Great atmosphere, free to minimal cover charge. I went on Tues night for amateur poetry night. The DJ was really good. The drinks were cheap. Encouraging crowd. I like how there's plentiful space and different areas to sit. The decor is different too, very eye catchy. Everyone is chill and friendly.

I really dig this bar. This was my first time visiting San Antonio and it's a breath of fresh fucking air to find a good bar with cold beer, strong drinks and no bullshit. Place is divey but that just adds to the charm. They have a DJ that spins good tunes and a pool table as well, so always a plus. It's in a good location as well, so make sure to hit up the food trucks.

Megan is the best bartender! Been coming here for a long time and it's gone through a lot of changes but it's always a good timee.

Once upon a time about two or three years ago, the mix was a older establishment with a punk rock feeling to it, where you could sit on old chairs and tables and couches and be content with cheap alcohol. Fast forward to now and you can still get the same alcohol, but in a nicer fresher, more hip atmosphere. Don't worry music still plays here and the same people still show up drinking, just stop boy to enjoy the music, drinks and nightlife on North St. Mary's and of the OG bars.

Very rude staff. I understand this is a dive bar but at least give a heads up before I spend money on a drink just to kick everyone out a min later. Go to rumble if you are visiting.

The place was so much fun!! We traveled 5 hours to see MR KITTY here!!! It was a free show too !!! The bartenders were super fast & friendly !! I really like Allie and Clyde :)) I would recommend this venue and I will DEFINITELY be going back soon !!

Worst drink selection around, staff can be rude. Food selection was hot dogs with beans on them. Head across the street to the Paper Tiger, which is about half the size but manages to feel twice as big. The mix is claustrophobically tight, needs some changes in layout and concept.
