The Good News Burgers

The Good New Burgers are without a doubt the best burger restaurant in town!If you are from San Antonio you've probably heard about award-winning Papa's Burgers. Well, I've got some news for you... Papa's Burger and The Good News Burger are the same restaurant! Due to some legal issues they had to change their name, and because of it they've been having the hardest time spread the word to their old customers. Anyhow! I am here to tell you that regardless of their name change, the restaurant is still the same and they are still cooking the best burgers in town. My go-to burger is their El Caliente Burger which is like the classic cheeseburger but with jalapenos. The burger is cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. One of the best things about their burgers is their bread! I don't know what it is about it, but it is delicious and holds the burger perfectly. My other go-to item from their menu are their chili cheese fries.Last but not least, the staff here is always so kind and super helpful. If you become a regular, they will remember your name and order which I think is such a special thing.

Chicken Sandwich, Sandwich Only - #3 Bacon Cheeseburger, Sandwich Only - French Fries (Basket) - Tater Tots with Chili Cheese (Single) Caitlin was our friendly counter service representative. Owner Robert Walker came out to talk with us, made sure we were satisfied customers- which we were! Petty side note: they advertise being "Best in Texas" by Yelp + "4th in the Country" Money Magazine, implying two seperate awards, but they are actually the same, since Money Magazine & Yelp collaborated on that review list. Not that they need to "blur the details"; their burgers are good enough to stand on their own by word of mouth!

I've always loved Good News Burgers! I was sad when the one on San Pedro closed and that they didn't make it at the North Star mall location. I really want to make this local burger spot just shine. They have the best buns, the meat is always seasoned perfectly and the onion rings are THE BEST! Forget fast food burger, come on in to support this local spot. The staff is friendly and always welcoming. This is a family friendly location. I am happy to see some of the staff from the San Pedro location. They were and are always welcoming. To all the locals and tourist you must stop by this local burger spot and try their burgers. They are the best! Also, the kids hot dogs are great our kids always eat them and their fries! You can't go wrong with your pick here.

NOT just another burger joint! My daughter and I had such a hard time choosing from the variety so we got the bacon cheeseburger and the "WTH" chicken burger. Both were delicious! Onion rings and fries were yummy and well seasoned. The service was good. It's a "order at the counter" kind of place but everyone was very friendly and helpful. The owners may be military veterans but I'm not sure, it's in the air base vicinity. The walls are covered in military and God decor of which I LOVE BOTH.

The burgers are fantastic! Large portions are a good price. The buns and seasoning really make it special! The service is friendly and relatively quick. They do fill up quick at lunchtime so get in early. We try for 11:15 to 11:30.

Stopped in about 5:45 on a Saturday, place was empty which is shocking. we had burgers, fries and tator tots. Everything was freshly made and tasty. The buns are kind of sweet which is nice and the seasoning on the fries is like sour cream and onion flavored and really tastes good!Highly recommend from the service, quality of food and cleanliness of the location right off the highway. Will definitely return whenever in the San Antonio area!

I had the caliente burger and my partner had the double trouble burger i believe. We recommend both of these burgers! the caliente burger was not to spicy at all, fyi. Service was great and fast. the only thing is, this place can be pricey. we spent $41 on 2 burgers plus drinks. just an fyi.
