The Golden Goose

From the same chef and creators of Magpie, is another great place to eat delicious Korean food. The service is fast, where you order at the iPad first before seating yourself. There's so much care put into this place from the decoration to the menu items, I've come back many times to introduce new friends to this place. We've tried the yuringi fried chicken, wagyu beef soup, and Korean hot chicken and loved it all. They also have the best key lime pie I've ever had boasting a super tart flavor and a creamy finish.

This is such a unique restaurant! The menu is pretty simple. You order at a kiosk and someone will bring the food out. We tried the fried chicken, beef soup and pickled radish. The fried chicken was really crispy. I liked eating it inside the lettuce and with a light drizzle of sauce. The beef soup was delicious! The beef was really tender. You can add a spicy oil sauce to add some more heat. The pickled radish was really yummy! Each entree is around $14-18. The inside of the restaurant features colorful and quirky artwork. You can see goose artwork randomly scattered throughout. The employee was very friendly.

On Tuesday night, we visited The Golden Goose (@gg.satx), a Magpie concept. I made reservations on Open Table for us. Parking at the parking garage on Laredo St. is free for 2 hours and they will validate your ticket. I met Eugene and Sue, who are the couple behind Magpie and The Golden Goose. Hubby and I had the Florida Seltzer in Navel Orange Yuzu flavor. Dad had the Simply Lemonade and Eugene was kind enough to serve that free of charge. We shared the Wagyu Beef Soup, "Yuringi" Fried Chicken, House Salad, BLT, and Kimchi. Everything was tasty! The BLT is made with their Milk Bread. The fried chicken was my favorite though everything was really good. 5 stars for sure!They have brunch on Sundays so we'll have to check it out some time!Check out @satx.aapi to download the passport and see the participating restaurants and businesses!

I would come back with a date or friend if they wanted to. A cool Korean themed eatery, with super amazing and sweet staff. Located close to market square. Probably ordered way too much food for brunch, buut got the steak and eggs, crabs beni and the breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich was good, the bread was fluffy, dense and moist honestly probably the best part of the sandwich. A little too much butter but still great. The sausage patty was thick but was missing some of the spice notes I like and lacked flavor overall. The eggs Benedict was delicious and the salad was good too. It's not your typical hollandaise sauce there was a slight maybe chipotle flavor to it. Either way it was great. Last was the steak and eggs, it was a very fatty cut, which I loved but may not be everyone's cup of tea. Cooked to perfection a LOT of salt but it was my favorite part. We also got a mimosa kit, decently priced and a bottle of soju.

Just- amazing. How can food that appears so simple be... just so so much better than any other version of it. I got the Patty Melt with a side salad and the Yuringi Chicken. The food is open and inviting to anyone, but it does have nuance of flavors and depth that make it stand out. The meatloaf patty melt had a very pleasant texture and elevated feel compared to a typical burger melt and their house made milk bread was incredible. The chicken had a splash of spice and was fried in such a delicate and fresh take. The salad- even a simple appearing salad, was so fresh with such a delicious dressing- an overlooked afterthought by me at first, I was nearly licking the dressing by the end. The quality , attention to detail, and the cooking are superb (as I later found it, for good reason- the chef is world class.)You can feel the passion and love for food, service and experience upon entering. The atmosphere is awesome and unique.I drove about an hour round trip to try this, and easily would double that effort to come again.

Food, service and ambiance were out of this world. I tried the beef with rice and it was phenomenal! Great spot for a quick lunch if you work downtown. Will definitely be back!!

Ate here a couple times now since I have a client near by I see once a month. This place is very good! Chef quality and flavor! I had the chicken both times so crispy and flavorful! Love the fresh salad that comes with so good! Definitely a must try tucked off in the end of the Inspire building by court house.

Service is top tier! Food is unbelievable! The vibes are a total win. Will definitely be back!
