The County Line

We went there for dinner after reading reviews and comparing other places in the area. I'm so glad we decided to go. The food was great and very plentiful. We still have enough for dinner tomorrow. It was pretty slow on a Monday night, but everyone went above and beyond to insure we had a great evening. As for the "loud kitchen" comments. The cooks were singing along with music and having a great time at their job. There's to much sullenness in the workplace these days. It was refreshing to hear them have fun. It was never loud enough to interfere with our conversation, and in fact a lot of times we had to strain to hear it. It's nice to go to a place that provides a positive work environment. If you want a quiet somber dinner, maybe don't go to a bbq restaurant?

We finally went to this place we always see off the IH10 freeway. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. They sat us down right away and everyone was really nice and helpful since it was our first time there. The menu was simple and easy to understand. Our server was always on top of things, making sure we had drinks and refills. The food came out hot and pretty quick. You definitely get a lot of food for your money, we all had leftovers. We didn't have any complaints at all, we'll definitely be going back. Great job!

The food was good and very reasonable. We ordered the combination plate that had 5 or 6 kinds of meat and two sides.Our server was a funny guy, he helped us with the menu and also with directions since this was our first time visiting the area.The ambience was fun and exciting, so many things going around at the riverwalk, there's music playing, people traveling around with in boats, very entertaining. Wish we had more time to explore

The best BBQ in Texas hands down.The BBQ sauce is amazing. The lunch specials are really affordable. The dinner prices are not bad as well. It is filling. Whe I first saw the portions. I was like not enough m. We'll I could not finish. So,it is worth the money. Ypu have to try the fresh loaf of white bread with BBQ sauce for dipping.

Service was very good. Food was good, but overpriced by about 50%. Mexican deviled eggs weren't fresh, almost frozen, so pass on those. Atmosphere was country. Kitchen crew loud, yelling to and at each other and wait staff.

This is more of a 3.5, based on customer service and steak, I will round up to a 4.This is my last meal in Texas, and darned if I'm headed back to the culinary wasteland of Sacramento without eating a steak. My wife was looking for ribs to freeze and bring on the plane, so this place crossed off the two main points of our checklists.The Caesar salad was soooo fresh....my first vegetable not counting last night's fried zucchini (not just fried, technically a fruit, but I digress). After the salad, along came my ribeye, cooked medium well due to medications. Perfectly cooked, still juicy, beautifully seasoned. The potato, though....was undercooked. How could you ruin my perfect meal like that??? Thats enough to bring the rating to a 3. My wife's bbq chicken was quite juicy and smoky, so....3.5?The server put extra effort into not only prepping our meat to go, but wrapped it perfectly for tomorrow's flight. Amazing service, and great steak, brought it to a 4. Please, though, for the love of Cthulhu, cook your potstoes!!!

Great reliable food. Well priced. Get the ribs if they have them. Drinks good too! Lite plates are still good size too.

13 May 2023I don't know why we went here today. There are so many other bbq places in SA now. Not so true some years ago. Anyway, the husband got the five meat plate. I, the lite two meat plate. His was full size, mine was maybe half size, but still plenty of food for me. The ribs are really pitiful, with not much meat on them, let alone fall off the bone. Nothing to fall off. Ha, ha. The beef rib was a bit gristly. Mac and cheese and Cole slaw were OK. My turkey and lean brisket was fine, as were the fried okra and green beans. It's just not the same anymore. Our server Frank though, was great.

This is one of those Reviews that I want to be as detailed as possible. In order to do that I'm actually starting the Review at the Restaurant. So far so good. Firstly, Check in, in the Parking Lot. You get a Free Sausage Appetizer. Three House made Sausages that were very good and juicy. Service is provided by Tabatha, she knows her stuff. I lean heavily at times on Employees favorites and that has proven to be 98% accurate. First the sides. Mac and cheese 4/10. While creamy it screams not made in House made. The Garlic Mash would be better if I hook it up to an IV. I do love me some Garlic Mashed Potatoes. I had an opportunity to speak with the Manager who turns out is a Homeboy from Louisiana. The Brisket was ok. Not a lot of Smoke but nice Bark. Also, I ordered what they call the Second Cut which is supposed to be Fatty Brisket. I was told it was that but honestly, I still think it was Lean. All good, I'm still unbothered. Other Patrons there were nice enough to tell me what is going on Socially in San Antonio for the next several days. I'm not slamming them, especially when it's clear that they take Texas Pride in the BBQ and even I have an off day. I hope they don't mind me coming back because I plan to before I get out of here. My daughter and grand daughter had lunch yesterday and the service was good and our food was very good. Everything was hot and it came out at a timely manner. Also the bathrooms were very clean. There are so many restaurants here that do not take pride in there food or bath areas. Happy to see that you guys do! Thank you so much.
