Wow!! I thought Austin had the best smoked BBQ on lock but Big Bib is my new SA stop for BBQ! I was the first in line(because I like fresh) and let me tell you the line gets deep FAST! Second in line was a lovely elderly couple, whom is a weekly regular at this SA hot spot (BB BBQ already knew their order). Their suggestion was already on my mind/order. I spoke to a few people and they were all there for the brisket, which I was also.I ordered the brisket sandwich and Mac n cheese. AMAZING!!!! brisket was outstanding moist, tender with the right balance of smoke flavor that is not over done, seasoned to perfection with just enough burnt end. Now the Mac n Cheese!!! Is a must, the best that I have had, that is not mama's homemade for Sunday dinner!! Oh, but it gets even better! Kool-Aid on tap for a drink choice!!! I forgot how much I loved red Kool-Aid, bought me back to my childhood!!!! An absolute MUST TRY!!!! Now my new weekly stop!!!

We ordered "the Big Bib" for a big family dinner. We LOVED the chicken, pulled pork and brisket. We found the ribs too salty to eat and the sides overcooked. We loved the service, the people who work there and the location.Going back for the chicken and pork! Give these folks a try. I'm

Located in a sort of seedy side of town behind a mechanic shop. Apparently used to be behind a car wash. Impression not that good initially but very friendly staff warmed me up. Also quite a steady stream of customers says a lot. Got brisket sandwhich and potatoe salad. Very good but about a quarter was inedible burnt ends and so I felt jipped! Yummy tangy sauce and they have a spicy and regular bbq sauce too. Need diet sodas and more variety of drinks in general. Liked the picnic benches outside but lots of flies.

So it's NYE... they're closing today at 5pm. I show up at 2:15 for lunch. They're out of everything. Only thing available is the ribs and turkey and sausage. A little disappointing not being able to try the brisket. Service was nice and friendly. Food was tasty for what I was able to get. Has a turkey baked potato.

This is an underrated BBQ spot in San Antonio! They are pretty busy. During lunch or dinner rushes, there would be a line! The lines are not too bad, and they do moved fast. I've been here twice and the first time there was a line, but the 2nd -- it was more towards closing time so they didn't have as much and there wasn't a line. This place is a hole in the wall, and provides such a cozy and homey vibe. I would recommend dining in instead of picking it up, because they have multiple types of BBQ sauces that you can try out. I appreciate that they just have it out on each tableThe sides are delish! Enjoyed the brisket, sausage, and turkey, which wasn't too dry, but wish it was definitely more juicy. The BBQ sauce helped!

We went to 3 different bbq restaurants searching for a Black owned establishments to try while on vacation in San Antonio, TX. It was worth it. When we walked in the place was very inviting. Every staff member from the cashier to the meat cutter to the server and the lady behind the scene, the smoker was VERY friendly with beautiful smiles. Now the food, of course you know tourists ask what's the best thing on the menu to try and what are you known for. Well the answer was everything. So we had to choose. We ordered the smoke turkey, rib tips, baby back ribs and jalapeño smoked sausage with sweet potato casserole (a must get). The sweet potato casserole was so good we ordered another serving. The meat was tender and smoked well. Anyone visiting the area you don't want miss this gem!!

Post from my Dad: We went for an after church meal and it was fantastic! Such a warm welcome from eating at a typical chain restaurant. The staff was very professional in their greeting and helping us navigate the menu. They came to the table to check on us too. I could not eat all my plate. The ribs and rib tips fell off the bones. In fact, it seemed to melt in my mouth. The collard greens were just like grandma's. Sadly, my daughter only shared a finger tip of her catfish. Lol I will return before I head back to the East Coast. Thank you for your service to our country and to SATX!
