Okay, it has been at least 15 years since I have been here. Not going to go into why I haven't been. You can ask me next time you see me. Well, we finally got to go back, mainly because we were seeing two bands play. I've always wanted to see some bands here. We walked up to the restaurant, and it has a ton of decor on the walls, good to see when the line is long. We walked up to the counter, read the menu above us, and decided to share a two meat plate. We got the chicken and brisket, cause in a snob on brisket, I ordered some burnt ends, and they accommodate my request. We got the cream corn and pinto beans, cause I'm a snob on beans as well. Beer and a water. Sat down in the dining area, thru another door, from the serving area, long table to sit at. They had a couple of tv's on, a small stage, and a bar. I think they had another room for parties. After a prayer, we dug into our meal. The brisket and the chicken were lukewarm. The beans and corn were hot. The chicken leg broke off with a bit of a pull. The shin was good, the chicken was good as well. The brisket was not bad, it was cut with the grain, so we had to cut it to smaller pieces. The burnt ends, had a great taste to it. Got me a pint of beer and headed back to the bigger stage area. Nice open area, plenty of seating. They have a General Lee back there. Stage is up high. Sound is good. The whole area is covered, but still open to the weather so take that into consideration when you go. So, smoking cigars are only allowed out near the parking lot. Not cool, no place to sit and enjoy the music. The bathrooms are clean. Oh, so I ended getting a pitcher of beer. Next time we go, I'm getting our food and then getting a pitcher at the bar. Think that is a better deal.

1.The brisket and barbecue chicken flavor was OK. It's just regular barbecue sauce on the side. doesn't really have that WoW factor as far as the Taste go's. The Tea and lemonade was on point.2.Customer services is good and the order was made quick.3. The, outside in the insight is really decked out. Love it inside of the dining areas somewhat dim.

First the service lady was rude she got upset that we asked for fresher cuts of meat we didn't want the ones they had under the cafeteria style lamps but it turned out the same the brisket was dry and had no flavor the sausage link was super dry and so was the chicken and the ribs I feel like they used to be good on their bbq quality and taste but not anymore we were very disappointed about this food experience

One of the best bbq spots in the area. Many events are held in conjunction with normal festivities. Worth a trip anywhere in a 50 mile radius. Catering available. Service is friendly and helpful. If you're entertaining outside of the area guests this is must. Picturesque.

I hesitate to write bad reviews. My motto is, unless something is egregious, don't make waves. Off the top of my head, I *might* have two other one-star reviews in the entire time I've been on Yelp--which is a long dang time. So that being said, I had to write this to give folks a heads-up.We drove out to the Texas Pride BBQ from the Medical Center area because my husband had heard really good things about them on KENS 5. It seemed interesting, so my husband, my stepson and I took a little trip to the opposite side of town. Everything at first seemed great; the service was good, and the meat looked and tasted good, too. It was also a cute (big) place. And then every single one of us got food poisoning the next day. My husband and stepson were first with the nausea, but were doing OK, with just a couple bouts of vomiting. I, on the other hand, spent about 12 hours hugging the porcelain throne, begging God to just end it, before my husband insisted that we go to the ER. Eventually they ADMITTED me to the dang Hospital because I was so bad off. Between the ER and Methodist, I was in the Hospital for two days because the food poisoning had triggered my first-ever gallstone attack. It's taken me a week to begin to feel normal again, and I will never, ever eat at Texas Pride Barbecue again.Be forewarned. Also, do yourselves a favor and check out some of the "42 reviews for Texas Pride Barbecue that are not currently recommended"

First time eating here after driving past many times. It was really good. My gold standard for BBQ is Kreuz in Lockhart. This is no Kreuz, at least not what I had, but it's much closer to my house and decent. Definitely good enough if that makes sense. I had the brisket which had good flavor but was a little dry but definitely not bad. I also had the jalapeño cheddar sausage which was really good. The potato salad was really food too. I plan to come back and would recommend it.

We've been gone for several years and moving back we kept seeing posts that Texas Pride was no longer good and had completely changed. Let me tell you this couldn't be further from the truth and the food was excellent, service was fast and the atmosphere screams Texas BBQ. Don't listen to the haters, this is the best BBQ in the area. Brisket is tender and moist, Turkey flavor is excellent, and the peach cobbler is to die for! If you want authentic Texas BBQ, this is it!!!!!

Just visiting but had to have brisket. Not disappointed at all. It was fantastic. Service was fine. It's pretty much cafeteria style but the ambiance was so cool. From the outside it looks like an old gas station. Lots of memorabilia including the General Lee and other old trucks and vehicles. I would definitely get back there next time I'm in Texas.

Baking has arrived at Texas Pride BBQ-- all kinds of puddings, pies and cakes. Just enjoyed the best two layer chocolate cake with delicious chocolate sprinkles. Come out and enjoy good food. Wonderful desserts and live music.
