Taqueria Y Mariscos El Marinero

I came here in search of street tacos... I left here with a smile on my face. The flan was delicious addition to the street tacos. The service was fast and friendly. The inside was clean, open and bright from the windows that surround the dining area. Don't worry it was not hot it was pleasant!

This place is right near my house, so we decided to give it a try. It is a clean place with a nice ambiance and very friendly staff. It also has a drive-thru if needed.Once seated, we ran into the major red flag: stale tortilla chips. That plus a bland salsa started things off poorly.I got the camaron cocino which was ok. My wife got the tostada con pulpo, which she enjoyed. The nachos were good and my daughter enjoyed the enchilada de queso.Planning to try again to see if this was just an off night.

My review is based on the food. The husband and I decided to give this place a try. We've been wanting to try it, but forget that it's there. We ordered a cocktail, tostada, and oysters. Food was very tasty and quite enjoyable. However, the oysters, although the toppings was good, it didn't feel like it was part of the oyster itself. The oyster itself was pretty bland and when you eat it all as a whole, the oyster kinda sticks out as a separate entity. Overall we enjoyed the food and would definitely come back.

While off on my staycation, I'm attempting to get caught up in my reviews and will hopefully eat at more places. While getting my coffee, I decided to try another restaurant in Universal City that has tacos and this is the restaurant. So I ordered a Carne Guisada, a sausage and egg and potato and egg taco. The food came within a couple of minutes and was pleasantly surprised. The tortillas were all a regular, which is a good thing, and each was stuffed with goodies. The carne guisada most flavorful, but not too spicy, the sausage and egg was potentially potato and egg, and the potato and egg was potato and egg. Aside from getting the wrong taco, they were all good, and they will be on my list for breakfast tacos in the morning. If you're in Universal City, close to Randolph Air Force Base, you must give them a try.

This restaurant is right across from Randolph Air Force Base and has ample parking. Inside the place was clean with plenty of seating for couples or large parties. The service was excellent and the food was good. My favorite was the chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh and the chips crisp.

Don't get me wrong, lady at the window was friendly although, like most people, I would enjoy a taco without dirty hands. This restaurant has tinted windows, although you can still see through them. I ordered a chorizo and egg taco and the lady misunderstood a "plato" (plate). I never been here before so I thought this restaurant did above and beyond when they asked if I wanted on corn or flour tortilla. I said flour, again knowing I ordered a chorizo and egg taco. I get to the window and the lady says a pricey amount for a single taco. I'm shocked and asked " For one taco?". She proceeds to tell me, you said a "plato"(plate). Their windows are tinted, but you can still see through them, I see she sets the plate down where the kitchen window is at and proceeds to make a taco with the tortilla and scooping the chorizo and egg from the plate and no gloves, already prior to touching the window and all other stuff, wraps the taco with bare hands. She comes to the window and gives me a new price, I assumed the taco she made from the plate was going to be mine so when I asked her if she can please not give me that taco she just assured me and said " no I'm not going to give you that one". I would've believed it if I had not overheard her whole conversation with the chef, complaining about me and how I ordered a plate and that I complained. And she said very loud, "can you please make "another" taco" to the chef, with the attitude she gave after that I should've just driven away. If that taco she made wasn't meant for me, why did she give attitude to the chef to make "another" taco. I understand we all have different experiences, and the lady at the window could've had a difficult customer prior to me. But I didn't think it was sanitary to be touching everything from windows and anything else a front staff touches and making a taco with no gloves or washing hands prior. I paid for the taco, I know could've just driven away, but I was thinking let me at least try the tacos here. The taco looks so good and smells so good, seems like they even have fresh homemade tortillas, but sadly I won't be eating the taco.

Food is delicious here. Service is very fast. Highly recommend the breakfast burritos!! Great deal for only $5

This place has the best tacos and menudo I've tasteed in the San Antonio area. The tacos are large and fat. The menudo is perfectly prepared and loaded with a whole bunch of liquid. We get tacos for them almost every weekend. Wide variety of tacos and very well priced. I will keep coming back.

The cashier at drive through was SO nice! However when I got home, the chicken fajita nachos I recieved had dry chicken and just put together. I am disappointed as this was my first time coming here. I was truly let down.

Authentic and well priced. The store is a little run down but it was worth it. The Nachos were delicious
