Taqueria Los Huaraches

Decided to see if there were any Mexican food restaurants in town that we hadn't tried yet. I immediately saw that this Taqueria has excellent reviews. It was only five minutes from our house so we took off.I judge a place almost immediately on their chips and salsa. They passed the test with delicious homemade tortilla chips and salsa that wasn't too spicy. We decided to try some of our normal dishes that we would order at any Mexican food restaurant like the combo plate with enchiladas and a crispy taco as well as their fajita plate.They make their tortillas in house and they were delicious as we were both of the dishes we ordered.The service was amazing - attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant itself is clean and had a lot of space. at first I thought it was just the front room, but there's a big room to the back right past the register.We will be back next to try out their breakfast, which looked delicious!

This is an excellent family owned and run Tex-Mex food restaurant in Lockhart, Texas, When I go there, I always get a hot bowl of Menudo that is always fresh and tasty. It's hard to get really good authentic Menudo but this restaurant has hit the mark. All of their tortillas, flour or corn or handmade and serve fresh daily. People don't often talk about their tea but if you're getting sweet tea or regular tea, you can taste the fresh. It's not fancy or something that you might find in downtown Austin, but for Lockhart Texas it is, the best place to get authentic Tex-Mex food. I take my father there every time. I'm in Lockhart. It is truly a central Texas original

We don't mind the drive from Manor to Lockhart...its actually very nice.....and its even better with some good food. This joint is definitely older and I would call it a dive joint for sure, but if you follow along...that's usually a good thing. Service started of slow, but finished up nicely...Queso, Salsa and Chips to start....Queso was good, better with some salsa added...The plates of food came out piping hot and fresh...Wife went with the beef Chiladas with a red sauce...had a touch of heat behind it....beef alone had flavor...I went with the Suzia plate with chicken...excellent sauce, chicken alone tender and flavorful...made for a great bite. Beans were legit and we both enjoyed the rice. Overall a solid visit...We have several other joints booked marked in the LH area, but we will keep this on the back burner.

I used Yelp to pick out this restaurant and I drove to Lockhart from Austin just to try it. I was not disappointed.I had migas, papas, y frijoles refrito. The migas had no sauce of any kind on them and they were served with real cheese instead of cheese sauce. That means that, during my meal, as my plate cooled down, the cheese firmed up, but it was delicious. I also had a great bean and egg taco. The egg was slightly lacy -- I wish that I could figure out how to do that at home.The salsa roja was fresh but not too spicy.The green doña-style salsa was amazing. I was told that it was made with Serrano peppers but there was something else in it that tempered the spiciness because I wanted to guzzle that stuff. It was not too hot but was wonderful! I even considered asking to buy some carry-out.

Best menudo and Mexican omelette #7 with added bacon! Definitely recommend so if you're hungry and want good Mexican food stop here

Great lunch with homemade tortillas and friendly fast service. So I came back with familia for dinner and had another great experience. Also loved that you have the option to sit indoors or on their patio . I definitely recommend Taqueria Los Huaraches.

Very delicious food definitely recommend always fresh great service closed only on Mondays.

A solid and cozy spot off the beaten path. Food has been excellent all three times I have eaten here and the staff is wonderful.

The food is Amazing and the Staff (Yolanda) is the best in town!!! You get a very homely feeling while you are there The ambiance is very welcoming!!

The food was delicious and the ladies who worked there were so nice! My husband said they were the best shrimp enchiladas he's ever had and my 7 yr old son was scraping his plate clean with his chips to get all the goodness. Glad to have found this little hidden gem.
