They know their sweet spot and own the space. It was a wonderful visit on an otherwise dreary, rainy winter evening. I stayed at the Hyatt Riverwalk, if you're close, don't Uber. It's a pleasant stroll along the riverwalk and through the city park. There were two other suggestions, but something about the simplicity of their menu intrigued me. Cuates called to me like a siren and unlike in Greek epics, her song delivered on its simple promise: satisfaction.----Ellos conocen su punto fuerte y dominan el espacio.

The Gringa tacos here are delicious. (Flour tortilla, al pastor meat, and cheese)The tacos were yummy and fresh. I love how cheesy they are. I tried the medium and spicy salsa and I really liked the spicy Serrano salsa.

These are by far the best tacos that I've ever had. I typically don't order pork tacos when I go out but these are fantastic. There is a reason why they only serve pork tacos and that is that the owner has perfected the recipe. The pineapple, onions, cilantro, and all four options of hot sauce perfectly complement the meat. The Gringa is served like a quesadilla with melted cheese. The other tacos are served street style or wrapped in lettuce.Everything is cooked to order and service is speedy. Owner is friendly and appreciative of your business. Portions are small compared to other places but the price reflects that: $2.50 per taco. If you are a big eater, order more. To be honest, even if you aren't a big eater, you're going to order more anyway because the tacos are SO GOOD!!!The dining room is small but plenty of tables and the place was not overly busy on either of my visits. I went for dinner on a weeknight and lunch during the week. Well worth a walk from the hotels on the river walk. If I lived in town, I would make this my regular spot for tacos.

The parking situation is a little tricky but it is definitely worth it. When you walk in, walk over to the register and place your order. The meat is very juicy and flavorful. Great customer service. These are probably some of the most authentic trompo tacos I have tried in San Antonio.

Brought me straight back to Mexico City. You can have pastor, pastor, pastor, or pastor. In my opinion, the gringa is the ONLY way to go if you like delicious melty cheese with your pastor. But you do you if you want a taco. The gringa is also served with cilantro, onions, and lemon - in case you have an aversion to any of the above. The pork is perfectly roasted on the vertical grill, one of man's greatest inventions. Is it Tex Mex? Heck no. It's MEX. And it's delicious. The owner is from Mexico City and is super friendly as well.

Ok my wife found this spot on vacation... we are hardcore street tacos lovers. We got to experience 2 different parts of the trompo and was blown away. First we had one that was almost finished and the other was with yummy crispy burned tips. Holly Molly taco Molly!!! The little piece of pineapple adds a magical touch! Service was great again I'm so enamored with Texas hospitality. Friendly, kind, attentive and just felt like I had been coming for years! The ambiance is really cool and laid back. Love the nice neighborhood it is in. Highly recommend

Top notch! Wow! The best trompo tacos I've had in SA Texas. Absolutely amazing! We all ordered the gringas and were blown away. They come with this amazing cheese on flour. Each bite was full of flavor. The hot sauces were top notch. They ran out of Mexican cokes. So I went with a strawberry Jarritos. I would definitely keep coming back here. The parking situation is tight. We took an Uber here. The staff here is amazing. Carlos was real nice. I will be back here soon. Top notch tacos.

Oh my goodness. Best tacos that I have had in a VERY long time! Small, quaint establishment with clean indoor and small table outdoor setting. Tacos are very reasonably priced per taco & made while you wait. The flavors of the meat, onions, cilantro, corn & pineapple all pop together in your mouth. The counter service was very helpful and will bring your food outdoors. I will definitely be visiting again. Next time I am in town I'm coming to get more!

I was attending a conference at the convention center and wanted to grab a quick lunch that was off the Riverwalk. I found this small taco joint just a 10-minute walk away. They offer a very limited menu, but the tacos were outstanding. I am a big fan of street tacos and these did not disappoint. They only serve Al Pastor, but they were delicious. They were served with finely chopped white onions, cilantro, and a very thin slice of pineapple. Four salsas accompanied my tacos. So good! The server/chef was very friendly. The shop looks newly renovated and was very comfortable. I highly recommend stepping away from the riverwalk to try these tacos.
