Taqueria El Trompo

I've come to this Taqueria a couple of times to get some tacos Al Pastor. They are pretty good and affordable. All the times I have gone, I have taken the tacos to go. The service is quick and efficient. The place is nicely decorated and very clean. The few times I have gone, there haven't been very many people, I tend to go on the off hours. I keep making a mental note to stay and eat at Taqueria los Trompos. Still, it is truly a worthwhile place to visit to get some good tacos, al Pastor and other kinds of tacos.

After a trip to Lowe's, went across the street to try this spot I've seen on Yelp. It's close to my house too, so I've been meaning to stop in. A couple of tables occupied inside. Nice, quaint spot. I came here when it was a wing place. The flavor is kicked up a notch ;-) 4 stars, because I only tried a couple things. Mini tacos. Was able to do 2 of the same and 3 of the same, so I got a total mix of 5. I tried trompo- which was asada, sausage & pastor (I think) also, it had white melted cheese too. The other 3 I got were pastor (based off of reviews). I also tried a trips taco on corn. I liked all of them. I wish I would've ordered guacamole!! I completely forgot and I felt like it was missing! Onions, cilantro, grilled onions, lime, red and green salsa! Yes, all of that and I still wanted guacamole! Ha! Plenty of food, especially with that extra taco I ordered! Just over $25 dollars including tip and a Mexican coke! I'm glad I didn't skip that one because I almost did and decided to pay for it cash instead! Mexican coke and tacos is where it's at!!! Friendly service, easy ordering, good food. I'd definitely come here again!

Needed a quick breakfast so I called in an order to Taqueria el Trompo for a country sausage and egg burrito. They told me it would be ready in 5 minutes, great!I showed up to pick up my burrito and they charged me $10 which seemed like a lot for a 3 ingredient breakfast burrito, but I paid and took it.To my surprise, when I took a bite I realized the country sausage was actually hot dog. So basically, I paid $10 for a hot dog burrito. Lol. Added a star for quickness, freshness of the food, and the other ingredients were fine.

Got the nachos to share, had half birria, half carnitas. Chips and beans on point. Accompanied with their warm salsa, yummy i think it's enough for 2 people. Friendly and attentive service. The restaurant was clean, however at the time i went, not many customers there. I would definitely go back again.

Been on the hunt for some really good trompo for a while and I think I found the spot!I got a trompo taco, barbacoa taco, and tromp quesadilla. The barbacoa is really good and flavor but I'm here for the trompo. It was very moist and had a great rich flavor. Will definitely be dreaming about the trompo until the next time I come back.

The al pastor and carnitas were both amazing. My eyebrow went up a little at first as I read the prices on the menu, but don't worry: those tacos come out full of meat. The value easily exceeds price. All three house salsas were perfect. Excellent service as well. I will definitely return here.

Came in for the very first time on the way to someplace with my kids. Thought we could grab some tacos to go on our way. Went inside, placed our order and went to sit down to wait. We ordered 2 bean n cheese and 2 barbacoa tacos on a Saturday morning. It's been w0min and still nothing. I stand up and go to the register and keep standing because the cashier continues to ignore my existence for a few more minutes. I finally get some help and I'm being told they are out of barbacoa. That would have been helpful to know during the ordering process 20 min ago or even 5 min after ordering. Some other lady comes out to explain again that they are out. I gave the same comment about that information being helpful 20min ago! She said if I wanted to order something else. I said no and I will just take the 2 bean n cheese tacos only. Not 2 min later she came back with 2 bean n cheese tacos and 2 carne tacos to go. The barbacoa were for me and my son. We left and both kids said they never wanted to go back to that place again because that was not professional. They understood the situation on its own. We weren't mean or rude to anyone. Later in the car they both said the taste was just okay to them. And these are kids who could have breakfast tacos all day long if possible lol. Oh well. This place is not on our usual route and we were out of our element.

Breakfast taco service was fast and convenient! I ordered two tacos to go on a Saturday around 10am. There was no wait and my food was ready in less than 3 minutes. The interior was kept clean and they even had a cute outdoor seating area. Had it not been 30 degrees I would have sat outside to enjoy my breakfast, but being that it was, I just ordered to go. The tacos were priced fairly and stuffed full. The tortilla was slightly crisped, but everything was a little greasy since I ordered a bean and chorizo taco and a chorizo and egg. Overall, great breakfast tacos and I'm sure I'll swing by another time to try some more :)

Found this place on a whim, visiting from out of town. Had tortas and tacos tonight. It was absolutely delicious! The staff is incredibly friendly and they were quick to greet us, serve our food and they checked on us throughout our meal. I love places like this, hidden gems you fall upon.

Top notch in San Antonio Texas! Very happy I found this place on yelp! Everything was so dam good! Food: the tacos were made to perfection. Every single taco was great! I tried several and they were all made fresh and so tasty. I will definitely keep them in rotation while in San Antonio. The breakfast taco was amazing too. All of their hot sauces were full of flavor and great spice! The chips and queso were so dam good too! They are family owned and very nice people Serving up some amazing great food. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. It's always good to support local. I'll be back soon.
