Taqueria El Rey del Taco

Perfect chicken burrito, asked for lots of cilantro, and got it! Both red and green sauces are spicy and delicious.

They have one of the best birria taco plates in town. The lady that works here (not sure if she's the owner, we have a language barrier) is super nice and always remembers me. Food is always made fresh and is so flavorful. This has become my regular go-to spot.

Stopped by for a quick Sunday dinner. We often pass the truck but hasn't had the chance to stop by. Parking is pretty easy on the lot so there's plenty of opportunity to drop in. There's a variety of items and the smell is amazing while you're waiting for your food. We ordered a huarache with asada, pastor mini tacos, and their special of birria. The huarache was crispy and had a good layer of beans and meat. It was topped with onion, cilantro, cheese (tasted like cotija,) and sour cream. It held together well and paired well with the green salsa. The pastor tacos had a very good seasoned meat and also came with a cup of beans. Not dry or lacking flavor. The birria special came with consome and 5 mini tacos. The consome didn't have a lot of meat but had a very authentic taste. The birria was very tender and well packed into the tacos. The salsas were very spicy and paired well with the food. For me the red salsa was spicier than the green. This is a cash only establishment so be prepared. We didn't wait to long and all the food remained well contained with their individual wraps as pictured. We will be going back to try the Mexican burgers and the tripas tacos.

Used to be a great place to order tacos from. We would order about 3 times a week. UNTIL they started to change their taco sizes. It went from regular mini tacos with freshly cooked meat to mini sample tacos with meat that is dry and tastes like its frozen and premade. 2 bites and your taco is gone is the worse part.Don't mind paying $18 for an order but come one. Make your tacos bigger and fresh again!!!The taco lady and her husband are good people they just need to stop being cheap and make bigger amd fresh tacos again!!!!We rarely order there anymore because we get so dissatisfied and disappointed when we do order.

Didn't expect much from this place, but I did enjoy every single bite from the tacos de tripitas. I asked for tripitas semi toasted and they came out perfectly. Red and green salsas were good

Quintessential Mexican street food. Perfect carne asada mini tacos, served with chopped onions, cilantro, lime wedges and a smokin' hot salsa roja. What sets this asada apart from local taquerias? Uniformly diced meat perfectly grilled to order on the flat top with a nice balance between crunchy and juicy morsels of nicely seasoned beef; no need for additional seasoning. The pastor tacos are equally delicious. There's no reason to go out of your way for this place, but if you find yourself in the neighborhood after dark, you won't be disappointed.

Amazing people that work there and amazing food. A must try ifvyou havent been here yet. The salsa is insane.

We ordered ten mini tacos and a burrito! El Rey will NOT fail you! You're not just going to be good and plenty satisfied. You're going to be GREAT, FED, and FULL (of JOY!), and every bite is going to be perfectly delicious! You'll feel like royalty! It'll be the kind of meal that will IMMEDIATELY put you to sleep after finishing the last bite! Sleeping and smiling! Dreaming of your next order! I had to wake up to write this, y'all! Must have tripita tacos when in San Antonio! Great customer service and great food wasn't expecting this A+ food!

The food, the cooks, everything is so authentic. The horaches with tripas are to die for! This is the best Mexican food truck I've had so far. Forget about fast food restaurants for late night cravings, you can get the a late night fix here without being disappointed.
