The late night eats scene in San Antonio is already limited, so it's places like Tacos El Regio that carry the torch for folks looking for a bite in the middle of the night. There are two locations in the city, with this one smack dab in the heart of St. Mary's where they serve a nightly crowd of club goers and folks looking to avoid a hangover. Some things that separate them from the average taco truck: illuminated signage, dessert options, English friendly food descriptions, credit card machines, and higher than average prices. The latter is an obvious nod to a gringo target audience, so Mexican food purists will need to taper their expectations before partaking.Their self proclamation of "best tacos on earth" is likely in jest, but I do think they have items that are worth a look. Namely their "mini tacos" aka taquitos ($8 for 4), giant torta ($9), and charro beans . The esquite (ahem, "corn in a cup") was a bit watery for my tastes and the quesadilla ($3.50) is a solid pick. Meats are really limited to asada, pollo, and pastor but they also feature a bean and cheese taco, which at $2 is their least expensive option. On their busiest evenings, the lines can get long and customer service can be a bit curt. The parking is extremely limited to side streets, so consider this El Regio only if one is bar / club hopping, or just randomly walking through St. Mary's looking for a late night bite.

Found this place on TikTok while visiting SA. I ordered a pasto quesadilla. It came out hot but it definitely looked like a plain taco with melted cheese. However, it was the best I've ever had. Nice portion size, fresh ingredients, and great customer service. Definitely a nice truck to hit!

Came down to San Antonio from Austin for the weekend and stopped by this food truck for lunch! Me and my friends got the vegetarian tacos and the chicken tacos. They were nice and flavorful- especially with the green salsa! The service was good and it was around a 10 minute wait for the tacos. They raised the prices since the last time I came but they are still cheaper than a lot of places in Austin!

I recently ordered delivery from Tacos El Regio to my hotel room, and it was just ok. The Corn in a Cup lacked flavor big time, which was disappointing. The Veggie Tacos were alright but could use something extra, like potato or zucchini, to make them more satisfying. Overall, the experience was just ok and left me wanting more in terms of flavor and variety.

Consistency is nonexistent here. I wanted to give this place three tries before I left a review. We'll... I gave them five tries before this review. First three experience were phenomenal. The best tacos I've ever had.Fast forward to this week... the consistency the past two times have been sketchy. The corn appetizer was filled 1/2 with cheese and so much hot sauce. I couldn't eat it. The beef was hard and flavorless. There was no chat or grill to the meat. The corn was cold too. I'll give this place one more shot in the future. I got two beef tacos and two chicken.

I ordered from El Regio door dash and the tacos were tasty and good, but not great. However it's the overall experience paired with the good level tacos that made it a 3 stars. I paid extra for all 3 of their salsas and only received 2. As well as I ordered 2 chicken and one pork taco with the 3 regular combo and only received chicken. Don't get me wrong the tacos were a tasty and satisfying meal, but the incorrect order and missing salsa was unfortunate.

Well first of all, they for sure are not regios. Bad tacos , bad presentation, usually when you get tacos at a taquera they are good but not here. Frijoles were a bit salty. Maybe it was a bad day but I will not recommend them.

Baby, when I tell you that these tacos are some of the best I have ever had in Texas that is not an exaggeration! Let me preface this by saying I am from California with the best taco reside, a very specific type of taco with a very specific taste. All the good Mexican food that I have had in Texas has been in San Antonio and it's because they have the specific taste, the taste that is home! Let me also say that this is right outside of a club that has amazing music and that when I was eating these tacos, I was not drunk yet. Therefore, the food was absolutely amazing and probably would've tasted even better had we went in the club before eating. Anyway, back to the food I got street tacos and a quesadilla and it was all amazing literally! The man at the window, so sweet, so and helpful; I love him. Please try these tacos They are mind blowing! 12/10.Also, check out the club there in front of 9/10.

Food lacked taste. Order was not as we asked, we said no cheese ln one thing and they still put it and no jalapeño on the other and it was still there. The price was too high for what we got in comparison of The Takin and Tacos West. We went there because it was the only one open

This is a horrible representation of Authentic Mexican food & San Antonio.Incredibly disappointed about the taste and presentation of my asada quesadilla with additions that were not present in my dinner. You think bean and cheese taco easy , can't possibly mess it up right!? WRONG! Need to step up your game or board up and move on.
