This place is always on point.. the food is always fresh & delicious. It doesn't have much of an ambience. The staff are friendly and professional. I have to say they have the best street taco in NB.

I've described Taco Palenque to friends as a Taco Cabana... if Taco Cabana was good. If you're a fan of TC... no disrespect. You do you, but for my money, I'm going for the delicious fajitas, salsa, chips & tortillas of Laredo, Texas native Taco Palenque. Honestly, they just do everything better. Went in for lunch on 3/13/24. They had a sirloin or chicken taco special going on. $2.49 each. Now... it's just the meat and a tortilla... but it's a healthy amount of meat... so really you only need one to fill you up. We didn't realize how much meat was I. Them and we ordered 2 each and ended up asking for extra tortillas (gratis) and split the meat from one to form two tacos out of each... and came home with 3 tacos (and 3 extra tortillas). You can order all the sides (beans, rice, fideo, etc) but we usually just get tacos and take advantage of the free chips & the salsa bar. The salsa bar boasts several kinds of salsa in varying heats. I prefer the original... but the station also has jalapeños, sliced cucumber and cabbage. So, I use the cabbage and salsa on my taco and the cucumber is a "heat reducer" on the palate. Three of us had a full meal for under $20 and had leftovers enough for another meal each. The parrillada is also a solid choice if you want to feed 2-3 people and want all the sides.... And if you want the show of a sizzling platter. It costs over $30 for the beef fajitas for 2.... And it comes with guacamole, rice and beans.If you're a first timer I recommend eating in restaurant and ordering the parrillada. It's worth it for the full experience.

Taco Palenque is great, food is delicious and as I sit in the drive way now, I must say the only thing I can complain about is they have the worst customer service ever. Especially the drive-thru. They can definitely do better with customers, because I come often and the attitude is the same and they always take forever in the drive thru and sometimes there's only one vehicle out there. To top my review they gave me my order wrong !!!!!

STOP using fake beans manager. I filtered or order tonight and those were tiny beans that looked white instead of Pinto Beans. 3/4 was liquid and 1/4 beans. You can fool the white people but not us. and when we ask for a pound of Fajitas, don't include the onions in that weigh. We live in New Braunfels but were from Zapata.

I have been going out of my way for Taco Palenque since I literally bumbled into one of the original locations in Laredo when I was a kid at UT going to Nuevo Laredo Mexico for a day. I had thought that the closest Taco Palenque to me was at New Braunfels and the Loop 410 in San Antonio, so imagine how happy I was to see this new one opened along the I-35 in New Braunfels!! Their breakfast tacos are delicious and authentic - the chicharron is made with real tripe stewed in a mild red chile sauce, not rehydrated fried pig skin in red or green sauce - that style of chicharron is awesome as well, don't get me wrong! But sometimes a girl wants a real tripe taco and can't wait for menudo weekends. Generously filled and wrapped in fresh-made-here corn tortillas, I ALWAYS get this taco at Taco Palenque. I also got the chorizo and egg breakfast taco, also in the corn tortilla. This is another generous taco - at least 2 eggs and 2 oz. of savory chorizo crisped on the grill and folded into scrambled eggs. YUM!Start with a container of complimentary freshly-fried tortilla chips and head to the salsa bar to load up on your favorite salsas, all freshly made in-house: smooth uncooked red salsa, tomatillo salsa verde, the green avocado and Serrano creamy sauce (the hottest one), smooth and smoky salsa quemada, and of course pico de Gallo! Get a few extra containers for your tacos too! I keep hoping for the day that Taco Palenque will make the jump to Dallas. A coworker knows my love of street tacos and she shared some sirloin tacos from a Taco Palenque in Schertz. They were divine and the mouthwatering scent of the seasoned meat was drool worthy. I devoured all four of them and they were perfection in taste and tenderness. So I decided to order the exact same item at the New Braunfels restaurant and it was NOTHING like the other restaurant. The meat barely had seasoning and was dry had gristle. I didn't even finish the four mini tacos. I was disappointed and will stick with the Schertz restaurant.

I came through sunday morning and the young man who was serving me was just AWFUL. He had an attitude the entire time and kept cutting me off. I heard him whisper under his breath and call me a dumb bitch. Great food but DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT. I order from them so much and three times in a row now either wrong salsa or not the amount requested. It's two per taco and today they gave me three total I even asked DoorDash driver to ask them and he showed them the message and still ended up with three total salsas. O will no longer be ordering from them through DoorDash which means they lose my business completely. Other two times either wrong salsa or wrong amount. Not only this but I called to ask about this and she put the phone down and walked away and left me there!!
