I wish we had one of these in Houston. If there is one there, where is it!?I'm always excited when I see one of these taco chains as they are consistently tasty with a garnish/toppings/salsas bar within the location. The breakfast tacos are some of the largest you'll find, I always go for the eggs & chorizo, add cheese and beans. As for other items, I'm always coming back to the fajita taco, pirata taco, and the pastor taco. New items I found that are worth checking out were the chipotle chicken taco and the matamoros taco. Chipotle chicken is seasoned well with a cabbage slaw; the matamoros taco utilizes soft fried corn tortillas and some guacomole for that texture and punch. All delicious. For my visit here, I used the drive through which was easy and efficient. You'll have to likely wait in the parking lot for them to bring you the food since they are made to order but that's why it's so good. Staff is friendly and they hook it up with extra salsas. Most of the time, I'll put my order in the app and then pick up at the location. Either way, it's efficient. Can never go wrong with the Taco Palenque if you need tasty tacos at affordable prices in a fast-casual style.

Stopped in last week for a quick chicken fajita taco.. it's usually my post workout protein burst. I like to try different taquerias around the area and I've had an ok experience at the Palenque by UTSA before. Not so much at this location. Service was fine and friendly and fresh salsa bar was well kept.. but the taco...I should have taken a photo.Cardboard dry flour tortilla that was stiff.. either old or over warmed. And inside rectangular chunks of chicken breast that almost no detectable seasonings ... no onions, no peppers.. just chicken and maybe salt and pepper. This wasn't cooking; this was slamming something on a plate. Come on' guys, you can do better than this in San Antonio.

This place has gotten ridiculous. Long long wait times in the drive through when no one is even there. And the prices are ridiculous.

We came here on National Taco day and we were given a free bean and cheese taco in celebration. So cool! I have never eaten inside Taco Palenque but I had time and friends visiting, so we went inside. Wow! I will go in more often. It is super bright and well lit. The employees are all super friendly and nice. You go to the counter to order and then they bring your tacos to you. There is a super nice salsa, chips, and taco topping bar. You can try all kinds of textures in your taco.. from pickled onions, jalapeño, diced radish, lettuce, and all kinds of yummy salsa from mild, medium, to hot. I had a wonderful time trying all the different salsa and textures in my taco.Food: Bathroom cleanliness : above average. I love there is a sink outside the bathrooms so if you just need to wash your hands, you can, very convenient.Restaurant cleanliness: above average

After paying $43 for chicken panchos nachos, a beef fajita plate and a small queso bowl; our beef fajita plate was cold and the we received beef nachos instead of chicken. The queso bowl tasted sour, not sure why. I told the manager guy and from where we were sitting it looked like he just pulled the beef pieces out of the nachos and replaced it with chicken. Then my fajita plate must have been put in the microwave because even the guacamole scoop that I had already eaten a little bit of was hot. Everything in the beef fajita plate was steaming when he returned the plate to our table. Taco Palenque used to be great, but this location was terrible. It's a shame I just wasted that much money.

Generous breakfast tacos! Used the drive through mid-morning recently for some chorizo and egg breakfast tacos. The tacos were very generous and tasty. Service: Drive-through was efficient, although we had a language barrier. I asked for spicy salsa and was given extra green salsa. The green salsa is fine but not very spicy. Value: good value for the price

Decided to try TP on a recent trip to San Antonio because my valley friends grew up with it. Had to say I was mildly curious; mole on a fast casual menu? That got me to head there for lunch. You can order via touchscreens which I might try next time as the giant menu board doesn't contain all the menu items. The mole enchiladas as an example were not on any screen and I had to ask if they were still on the menu. Similar to Taco Cabana, there's a salsa bar too. Chips were also there free for the grabbing. I sampled the green and roasted salsas and liked both. My order was the enchiladas and I guess curiosity led me to a beef fajita taco. Some of the beef was exceptionally tender; It did however not live up the $5.50 menu price. That's meat and a now cold tortilla with no grilled onions/peppers, cheese, guacamole, or sour cream. So we got an upscale fast food type restaurant with prices equal to a Chili's but you don't get any of the extras. I liked the flavor of the mole, but the dish ate a bit on the dry side. Rice and refried beans were acceptable fare.
