Taco La Gardenia

I stopped by this restaurant with a co-worker to pick up breakfast treats. The bakery inside was incredible! Much to my surprise, the cases were loaded with many different kinds of Mexican sweetbreads. The display was definitely one of the best-stocked I've seen in a long time. I chose iced sugar cookies decorated to look like pumpkins and Jack o'lanterns. They were delicious! And at $.70 each, they are a real bargain. Shop local!

The food was pretty good, but all in all the cheese that they use is quite terrible. They need to get better cheese. The service was quick and efficient. You can tell that they definitely deal with a lot of customers in a short amount of time. The atmosphere was cute. They have a little bakery next-door that's connected to the restaurant you pay at the bakery. Will I be back maybe Other than that it's cute.

Ooof so glad we came across this little gem while we were out looking at investment properties. Had idea this was here. They have a full bakery. The minute you walk in it smells like someone's grandmas house just cooking up a feast. The line goes rather quickly. Food and service was very good. Definitely our new weekend breakfast place.

This marks our third visit, and the display of pan dulce was tempting, so we couldn't resist indulging! Everything was exceptionally fresh. For lunch, my husband opted for the hearty and delicious breakfast burrito, while I chose the picadillo taco and puffy taco. The former was fantastic with its crispy texture, but the latter fell short as it was excessively greasy with a hint of stale oil. Next time, I'll stick to the regular taco. Nonetheless, the service was excellent.

Fabulous Breakfast Tacos! I was quite early to a Memorial Service at nearby St. Paul's, so I stopped in for Coffee and Breakfast Tacos. The place was very much what one might expect in an old San Antonio neighborhood. Cool, funky old building with a Panaderia that looked better than most. The Bakery Counter was as busy as was the Restaurant side. My server was charming, organized and swift. I had a Carne Guisada on Flour Tortilla and an Al Pastor on Corn Tortilla. The hot sauces were wonderful, as was the coffee. This little place is out of the way, but well worth the trek, so if you are nearby, please patronize them. These kinds of places are like gold on the American Restaurant landscape, but they are disappearing because of the big chains. Support small independent businesses in your community and when you travel. I hope to go back soon.

Wow. I placed a piece online through Google. Lots of options for modifying your order. I started with the real. Generously filled and the meat was perfect. Amazing flavor The burrito. I have not had a breakfast burrito in far too long. It was large and full the refried beans were on point I mean I could still taste them after. Perfect amount of cheese, not too much and just enough. This was the best breakfast I've had in SA. I decided to try the chips and salsa. Chips were crispy and not too salty. The salsa rocked. I could have just drank it They have a huge menu and I want to try everything.

This is a great little taqueria + panaderia not far from the Pearl. I first tried their tacos at a friend's baby shower and was impressed by the pillowy flour tortillas. The fillings were tasty too - bean & cheese + potato & egg. I came here later for an 7am weekday breakfast gathering with some girlfriends and we were all pretty pleased. The restaurant was surprisingly full given the time. Everyone ordered 2-3 breakfast tacos and it was dirt cheap, just a fraction of what you'd pay at a restaurant closer to The Pearl or off Broadway. I got a potato & egg and bacon & egg tacos. I was accidentally served an additional bean cheese and egg taco that I quite enjoyed later. My friend who ordered a chorizo breakfast taco noted that it was not dripping in grease and pretty good. I thought the accompanying salsas were both on the spicy side but so perfect for the tacos anyways.The chocolate donut actually tastes like chocolate - not a fake waxy sugar shell. The donut is tender and fluffy deliciousness.Altogether this place gets high marks for great value, delicious tacos, fresh salsa, and good donuts! A perfect casual neighborhood spot

We ventured down to San Antonio, and we weren't going to leave until we found some authentic breakfast tacos!I love the ambiance of this cute restaurant! The women working here were so nice, and so efficient.The food was good! There were many breakfast tacos to choose from! I ultimately chose the cactus & egg taco, and the sausage and egg taco,Both were so good!I also love that there was a panaderia (Mexican bakery) connecting next door that you can walk to from the dining area. You can pick up yummy traditional Mexican pastries and add it to your overall bill by telling your server what you ordered from the bakery. My favorites from the bakery were the sugar cookies! Sooo good!

my experiences every time I go first friendly, and quick to come and ask what I am going to drink and informative if its going to be a little longer to get my order but never too long. Every plate I have had starts becoming my favorite and its always busy but everyone knows everybody its a warm and inviting place.Favorite plate : chilaquiles with salsa rojaThe owner and waitress are always with smiles and greeting everyone that's a place you know what to expec.
