Sylvia’s Restaurant

13 Jan 2023This is a review of the karaoke setup. It's not bad. I'll try it again in a week or two and may change my review. First impressions: sound system is good. His computer was stolen and we read the song lyrics off of his iPhone. Kind of small, but it works. He say he will have a larger screen next week. Decent karaoke versions of the songs. Some people got to sing two or threes songs in a row. I didn't quite understand that. Three Bud Lights and a Mexican coke was $13.72, not bad. I'm willing to go back and give it another try.

I moved back to the pearl area about 5 months ago and looked for a staple taco place. The last time I lived at the pearl in 2011-2013 it used to be taqueria chapala before it's big move. Somehow that isn't the case any more, so I decided to venture in the area to find a great "breakfast taco". The first month I moved/first time I came to eat here I noticed this place didn't have many people eating there so when I would scoop up my breakfast tacos I thought oh man bad news, but then I realized when I bit my taco nope it was just a big secret nobody had learned about yet. Fast forward to January, I need to drive a little earlier to get in line as I'm racing the drive through line and inside line of people. It's so good cops are in line! That's how you know it's super good :) keep it up! Try their bean and cheese and their country and egg. I want to try their plates eventually.

food was good. ordered huevos Mexicana and it came out in 3-5 minutes. needed some more flavor. beans were good. potatoes a little greasy. full of police and first responder I will come back and try it for lunch

As a frequent patron of Mexican restaurants in the area, my employee and I decided to try Sylvia's Restaurant after its recent name change. However, our experience was not up to par.Although the food had a lot of flavor, the meat seemed to be reheated which affected its texture. The tortillas were also lacking in quality and didn't enhance the overall taste of the dish. While I was quite hungry and feeling unwell, I still didn't enjoy the meal as much as I had hoped.On a previous visit through the drive-through, I did have a great experience with the carne quesda. However, based on my most recent experience, I don't think I'll be returning to Sylvia's Restaurant anytime soon. I did see a sign on my way out and it stated that they had margaritas all day to go and I'm totally coming back for that one. Never mind I'll try again just for drinks to be continued.

Went to the drive through to order a couple of plates and puffy tacos. The wait time at the speaker was ridiculous. A woman started taking my order, stopped abruptly, waited about 5 minutes and had to start the order all over. Waited in drive thru for about 20 minutes, when we get to the window to pay, she takes the money, and we watch her getting plates to take to tables inside! Finally get the change and still wait to get our food. Let's just say the drive thru is really in need of attention. Will not go through that again.

The food is pretty good here !! My Wife and I had a late lunch , the wait staff did a great job......an all around quiet lunch , good time !!

Stopped in for lunch for the first time. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I got the cheese enchiladas rice beans and a puffy taco. I got it for the puffy taco. This was probably the best puffy taco I can ever remember eating. It was soft but crispy. It held together through every bite. The enchiladas were good. The price was great. I will absolutely be going back. Support local.

I got 3 potato and eggs tacos with cheese.Small potions, fake Velveeta cheese, way over priced, I paid $11.00 and did NOT get a drink.Lady who took my order spoke broken English and had an attitude problem. The only thing I liked was that it was quick and the tortillas were good. I will not ever be coming back.

While eating there I witnessed two employees preparing the lemonade behind the bar counter and while preparing to pour into the machine she got a straw and sipped right out of the gallons of lemonade her and the other employee had just prepared, instead of pouring into a cup for taste testing she sipped right out of the container! We prepare to leave and notice all the servers and cashier at counter with us standing behind them, they were making perfume purchases with a gentleman that came in to sell .. they all each took turns smelling perfumes, while we stood there the entire time waiting to pay our bill. That was my first time there & I'll never return!

don't walk....run away.Togo ordered beef fajita plate.... dry & overcooked.no quality control...this stuff should not be allowed out the window.
