Every. Single. Time I come here..... it is always a great experience. It's always clean and calm... even when they're busy. I tend to find myself getting my Sushishima fix, when I'm in the area. From the moment we walk in, until we walk (roll) out... the service provided is always spectacular and the food is always great. I personally prefer to make it a point and ALWAYS order the El Toro Roll because the lil kick of spice it gives. Confession: I will NEVER share this roll with anyone! lol To then find ourselves paying happy hour prices: 50% off on (selected?) rolls and 20% off selected appetizers - definitely want to discuss what happy hour covers with your server.

I have a love/hate relationship with sushi joints. I love sushi - but I often hate feeling like I pay way too much for too little food. I can honestly say I've now been here twice, and although I felt the first time was mediocre, the second time was better. My wife and I ended up here just after your typical lunch hour and met with a pleasant surprise: a buy two rolls get one free "happy hour" deal. So, that helped with that "too much $ for too little" feeling. I know I got the Phoenix roll, my wife got her own, and we shared one. All of the food was fantastic and came out pretty quickly, but there were not very many people there, so that helped. Our waitress was prompt and polite. The interior is nice; it has the feeling of slightly nicer sushi joint. You would never think you were in the middle of a strip center. Overall: I'll be back, but especially for the "buy two get one free" happy hour. I hope that's a regular thing!

We're so glad to have another sushi spot we enjoy! We visited Sushishima during happy hour and took advantage of their great deal--buy two rolls, get one free. The value was fantastic, and the sushi did not disappoint. We tried the shrimp tempura roll, crunchy roll, and kawhi roll, and all of them were fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The kani salad was a standout and definitely a highlight of the meal--it was fresh, light, and packed with great flavor. The tempura vegetables were also crispy and delicious. We did order the udon, but it was just okay; nothing special, so we probably wouldn't order it again. The service was notably great--attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. Overall, we'll definitely be back to Sushishima, especially for those delicious rolls, kani salad, and happy hour deals!

We were looking to have dinner close to home so we headed to @sushishima at The Vineyard. Happy hour ends at 6pm and we were there in time to enjoy both food and drinks. Happy hour on Mondays means rolls are 50% off and just about everything else is 20% off. Dad had Lemonade, and Hubby and I shared the Moonstone Sake in Asian Pear. Victor brought me a Jingle Bells Smash to try. It's made of Nigori Sake (cloudy sake), cranberry and pomegranate juices. My first time to have Nigori Sake and it's great. Also, the holidays are around the corner. We shared the Shrimp Tempura appetizer. It's one of the best in town! Hubby and Dad shared the House Pork Won Ton Soup. Hubby had the Tonkatsu Ramen with Pork Belly and Spice Bomb 1. We all shared the Alamo Roll (tuna & salmon, topped with tuna, salmon, eel, avocado, eel sauce & masago), Big Easy Roll (tuna, salmon & yellowtail), Salmon, and Escolar sashimi. Amazing quality food and fantastic service by Nidya. If you're craving sushi on a Monday, think of @sushishima at The Vineyard or Castle Hills.

Went here for lunch, we just wanted chicken teriyaki. When we walked in I was a bit taken aback by the strong cleaner smell, kind of lost my appetite. So many businesses around San Antonio use that cleaner and it doesn't smell good as a patron, I wish there was a less chemically smelling option for them to use in the food establishments. My husband ordered teriyaki chicken with noodles and I got steamed rice. I wanted a lunch size but unfortunately they don't offer just a lunch chicken teriyaki, it comes in a bento box with several other items that I didn't want, so I had to order the dinner size which was considerably more money and more food than I wanted so I took the rest home. Wish they had a better lunch menu. The food was good though, along with the service. Plenty of seating and the parking lot is large with all of the businesses there.

This is your run of the mill, average American sushi restaurant. It's *fine*, but not worth returning to, in my opinion. If you aren't particular about your sushi and are fine with average - it's clean, open, friendly staff. Has happy hour deals, good location, etc...So - not for me, but just fine for many, I'm sure.

We ordered a couple appetizers and for our entree had the habachi beef and spicy tuna roll. Everything was so fresh and delicious! We are new to the area and will definitely come back. Service was also great!

I have never left a restaurant so disappointed. I was so excited to try this place. We ordered 4 rolls; Philadelphia, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura and volcano roll. The most expensive roll was the volcano roll, $15.95. As soon as our food arrives, my excitement disappeared. I never thought I would ever pay $15.95 for 4 rolls of sushi. And to top it off, the sushi was alright, it wasn't the most spectacular sushi I've ever tasted either. This place is WAY over priced for the amount of food you get and the quality. BEWARE!!! And make sure you ask how many rolls come with each before making the same mistake I did. Unbelievable.
