This is our second time eating here. The wife and I ate breakfast here a couple weeks ago and honestly it was in the top five breakfasts ever. It was defiantly cooking on another level. Maybe two levels. So why you ask the one star. That is because we invited our good friends to Christmas lunch at Supper based on the aforementioned experience. Hotel Emma is so beautiful and we wanted to have a special meal with our friends on Christmas Day. Arriving just before our 4 pm reservation time, we were very excited to see what was the holiday fare. After being seated, our waiter, an extremely courteous man, took our drink order. Looking around the spacious room, I remember telling my friend that I would have hated being the trim carpenter for that dining room. I was beautifully done and very well preserved the era gone by. The holiday menu had the expected traditional meal: ham, dressing, green beans, and a Parker House Roll. But for the seafood lover, the seven fish dish. I am defiantly a seafood lover being raised in Galveston; however, a couple fish dishes passed by on their way to another table and that seafood aroma didn't usher in the yule tide nostalgia. Additional offerings included a cheeseburger, a steak, and quail too. So a fairly rounded menu. The ham was $65...but it was Christmas so no complaints here. I ordered the $26 cheeseburger and fries. It was my treat and I didn't mind the premium pricing as long as the food was worth it. The wife, with her persnickety pallet, ordered the safe ham entree. Fifteen minutes of conversation prior to our food arrival. Before the plate left the waiter's hand, I could tell this $65 pig could be scraped straight into the refuse container because my wife was not going to eat that plate-no way. My burger was way over cooked and not good. So disappointing! The friends faces told me everything. What happened???? The cook must have taken the holiday off and they grabbed one of the valet attendants to take his place. Seriously, this was bad! That's a $500 bill that I wish I would have spent at McDonalds and bought 150 Happy Meals to distribute to the homeless. I will not likely return even though my first experience was exceptional. I didn't even take pictures it was so bad. What a shame. Sorry to be so negative. Bon appetit Yelpers.

Located inside of Hotel Emma, Supper American Eatery offers delicious American fare sourced from some of the freshest ingredients across the region. In other words, you can expect your entree to be savory (or in some cases, sweet), vibrant, and of high quality. This particular night I indulged in the watermelon salad (Fun fact: Watermelon is my least favorite fruit) and the spiced crab cake, both which were VERY good. Much like Hotel Emma, the restaurant boasts very historic architecture and really creates an elegant and intimate environment for a nice date or night out. Because the customer service was fantastic and the menu featured just the right amount of options, I will certainly revisit this place again sometime. Something to note: If you prefer not parking in the open lot nearby, you can pull right up to the hotel and take advantage of the complimentary valet.

After visiting the Hotel Emma bar, we thought we should try their restaurant, so we had lunch there a couple of months ago. Upon arrival, the valet service provided by Alejandro and Carl was top-notch. Both were friendly and helpful. Once inside the restaurant, the hostess was nice and promptly sat us outside per our request. The waitress stopped by our table shortly after, introduced herself, and asked for our drink order. After she left, we realized it was actually to windy to sit outside, but did not want to leave the table until pur waitress returned. Unfortunately, after waiting for over 10 minutes, we and the table of ladies next to us went in on our own. We ran into our waitress there, so she guided us to a new table. However, we still waited several more minutes for our waters and to place our order. When she took our orders, no rerecommendarions were made, so I asked for suggestions between the club and the burger. She recommended the burger because although rich, it was unique and good, so I ordered the Foiedelaise Burger, and my gf the Short Rib Grilled Cheese, plus a bowl of Corn Chowder. Although there were only 2 other tables beside us, the wait for our soup was very long, only for it to be cold, not even lukewarm. The manager dropped by to ask how everything was so far and after sharing the temp of our soup, he apologized and took it away. Shortly after receiving our replacements, the manager returned to make sure it was to our liking. To be polite and realizing that I did not like the chowder after all, I said yes and thanked him. Our actual meal took a while as well as our drink refills. By the time we received our food, I was a bit agitated but shook it off and did my best to enjoy our pricey meal. The burger was rich, different, and enjoyable, but I have had better for less. The grilled cheese was tasty but too rich to consume at once. The fries were okay. Maybe it was an off day for service and food, but we expected more for the location and price.

What an amazing lunch at the most perfect location! Our party sat outside, and the light breeze and view were perfect. Service by Sophia was wonderful. She was helpful with menu selections, quick, friendly and efficient. Fabulous salads, the most amazing flank steak (as a side) and the food was beautiful and fresh! Gary (manager) came to chat with our table and personally thanked us for dining as we were leaving. Very classy touch!

The aesthetics are really cool, but I think the food here is overpriced. I ordered the beef short rib grilled cheese and honestly, I've had better. The meat was a little bit too dry for me. I ordered a salad as a side and that was good, but the portion was small too. Besides that the service was really good. Everybody was really kind and valet was an option.

Very nice breakfast at Supper but mediocre at best. The Cottage Cheese pancakes were delightful. The basic breakfast was pretty standard. I am a huge fan of espresso and drink it every morning, but I am not a fan of the espresso or cappuccino at Supper. Just didn't taste good. Found out they came from a machine and not individually prepared. A nice restaurant with friendly and helpful staff.

Don't let the name fool you, this place offers more than just supper. When I walked by around breakfast time, I almost kept walking thinking they wouldn't do morning food. I was wrong, and happy to be. It's slightly upscale, attached to the nearby hotel, with a beautiful outdoor patio that overlooks the river walk. You can request a table top device that spins like a helicopter to discourage flies and birds from pestering-I'd recommend doing that. The menu is compact, but each option is a little work of art and beautifully presented. I enjoyed the toasted English muffin with salmon on top. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and noteworthy, says someone dining in my party.

Finally made it to "supper" no pun intended lol I had heard raving reviews and nothing but great things about Supper. The reviews on Yelp confirmed it, and my visit sealed the deal! So obviously, I highly recommend! I had it on my foodie list since (recently) moving to SATX. Everything about our experience was 100/10! Service, ambiance and food!!! The historic feel and ambiance can be felt from the moment you walk up and walk in. Of course I snapped away from every angle and still photos won't do it justice! So go see for yourself To start, we ordered a Cesar salad to share and they were kind enough to split it (without us asking for it to be split). I opted for a mocktail (Prohibition Punch) and my hubby had an old fashioned. It's always very much appreciated by me when a business and staff are so detailed. It's the details for me, always! Like the cute little "pearl" in the old fashioned cherry garnish. Which I'm sure is symbolic of the "pearl district". Much appreciated! For entrees; I ordered the risotto and my hubby ordered the black angus filet (au poivre). The truffle on the risotto was fantastic. However, the risotto itself needed a little something. It tasted kind of bland (for my liking) even when combining with the truffle! The steak on the other hand was absolutely phenomenal! Cooked exactly as we ordered, with an explosion of flavors when dipped in the au poivre sauce. Can't forget to mention the highlight of the night for me; the Brussels sprouts! Omg! The best I've had! Kudos to the chef! I would've been ok with 3 orders of Brussels lol I can go on and on about how wonderful this experience was! I will end my review by saying thank you to Angel, our server! And what felt like an entourage of servers making sure our every need was met! Truly grateful and cannot wait to return!

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner here! We had never been to this restaurant before, despite being frequenters of the bar in Hotel Emma. When we decided to stay in town for Thanksgiving, we wanted to give the restaurant a try. I had the Thanksgiving Dinner and my partner had the steak. All of my food was amazing and the my partner said the steak was the best he's had! We enjoyed the pumpkin tart a la mode. Service was lovely as was the ambiance. Would definitely go back for another nice supper!
