I really like the layout and decor of the place. Came here on a Friday for dinner time and had no trouble finding parking. The spot is located in the same shopping center as the bulverde/1604 HEB.I was interested in trying their cocktails which were Asian inspired. Had the matcha old fashioned which I found to be really interesting. Great suggestion by the bar tender! The food itself was also flavorful. They have like of 4 sushi masters prepping the food side by side. A true treat work of art seeing them do their thing.I do recommend trying this place out. It may be out of the way for some people but it's worth the drive.

I will come back to this restaurant. We tried their omakase, and it was a unique and delightful experience for foodies. Come hungry cause it's 17 courses of food! Everything tasted great and left us wanting more. The service was great! While the sushi chef prepared our food, we had a lady staff explaining to us what we were having, how each dish was prepared, and what ingredients were in them for every part of the course, not just the sushi chef, who was trained for 14 years. The staff was very welcoming. While enjoying our gastronomic adventure, we got to listen to soft Brazilian bossa nova music. The place was clean and not too noisy in the late afternoon going into the early evening.I hope they do well. Only a handful of exceptional restaurants can be found in the NE part of San Antonio. And, I am so excited they decided to open in this area.

Super cute place! Love the decor- the menus are super cool. The service was great- they are super kind and attentive! The food was some of the best we had while visiting San Antonio! My husband started with the matcha old fashioned. It was good! Nothing too crazy but smooth and a solid twist in a classic drink. I had the amazu shoga drink- great balance of flavors not too sweet, a definitely enjoyed tasted the orange bitters and ginger flavors. The crispy rice with tuna sushi appetizer was my favorite. The salty crispy kale on top was absolutely incredible! We got the chile lime roll, Hawaiian roll and bulvedere roll. All good and a little different. I really enjoyed the bulvedere. It was like their twist on a Vegas roll. We also got a crunchy tuna roll which wasn't my fav. The crunchies are mixed with the tuna and absorb some of the water off the tuna which led to less of a crunch and more of a meatball like texture.

Wow, the creaminess of the fish here is phenomenal. Our server explained to us that they age the fish, which gives it a more creamy texture and cleaner flavor. You can definitely tell. The attention to detail is apparent in the decor and the beautiful plating. We will definitely be back soon.

My new best place for sushi in San Antonio. Great sushi, great service (been only once before and the server greeted us with welcoming us back), and a welcoming place to enjoy sushi (my only unsatisfactory comment is the size of the nigiri, after living in Japan the size served is on the small size). Everyone there is attentive to their customers without being obnoxious and they are ready to help if you are undecided. I can easily say confidently say I highly recommend Suko.

My fiance and I tried this place a few weeks ago. We loved it so much that we came back the week after. My fiance says this is some of the freshest sushi that you can find in the area. I decided to have their Tiger Shrimp Rice Bowl with Curry Sauce. The Tiger Shrimp was crisp and delicious. The Curry was so good that I forgot about the katsu sauce and mustard. I made sure to rectify this mistake on the second visit and paid more attention to the katsu Sauce and japanese mustard. They are served in the same dish that mixed together. The two sauces together make a tasty sauce with just the right amount of spice. The servers here were very nice and attentive. Our server recognized us from the week before. On two visits, I have not had any issues finding parking. If you want fresh sushi, good service and a good selection of sake then I highly suggest this place

Happy Hour update! They have a great happy hour menu Mon-Fri 3-6 pm. The Salmon Crudo, Gyoza and Spicy crunch were delicious and the fish was super fresh as always. I haven't had one bad dish here yet.

It's been a while since we've had a Daddy-Daughter dinner. Hubby was at a work dinner function so we had this time. I've seen a few posts on @suko.satx so I thought to check it out with Dad. They have happy hour until 6pm, which includes food and drinks.I had the Kirin Ichiban draft and Dad had Lemonade. We started with the Gyoza and Purple Fries (taro). Also from the happy hour menu were the Salmon Crudo, Shrimp Tempura, and Grilled Unagi Cucumber. We probably should have stopped but I didn't know the food portions. Dad had Miso Soup and I ordered the Suko Salad, which I took home. I added the Masunosuke (King Salmon) nigiri, Hamachi Yuzu Kosho, and Shiro Roll. Everything was so fresh and beautifully presented. So much food to go and enjoy. They advertise that they have omakase with reservations for $125 per person. Would be curious to try it out sometime. Highly recommend this new spot!

Very clean, nicely decorated, great service. Food amazing. Definitely one of our favorite sushi spots here in SATX. Highly recommend. We had the jalapeño bombs, Ik sansai (squid salad) and the Bulverde roll, mouth watering just remembering the dishes. Will definitely go back and try other items on the menu. Service, as I said before, was great. Server was very attentive.

I would love to give this place a higher review but I just can't today. We've never been here but we do plan to return. First, we were here pretty early (right before 5pm). Party of three. Only a few other patrons. We ordered drinks: Yuzurita, Mango Crushed, Bubble Berry. Meals: Miso Soup, the Chili Lime Roll, the Wagu Beef Bowl, Crispy Chicken Yuzu Noodle and the Crips Salmon with Beurre Blanc Sauce. The drinks were on point! Very well constructed, great flavor with balanced taste. Would recommend all that we ordered. Now on for the meal. Well, it seemed we waited awhile and then the Chili Lime Roll came out. The sushi was fantastic. Loved this roll! But, no miso soup. Didn't really think about it. Figured the soup would come out next. Then after finishing the roll between 3 of us, we waited again for for what seemed like quite a bit. Then our entrees came out but only 2 of the 3 entrees. When our waitress brought our meals out, I asked about the Miso soup and she said, "Oh. Ummm... The miso got empty and have to make more. Will bring it out." I told her not to. That it's too late. She never came to our table prior to our entrees coming out to let us know beforehand that there was no Miso Soup available. Makes me wonder if she forgot as the table behind us that arrived later than us received their soup. The 2 dishes that came out were absolutely delicious. The Wagu Beef was melt in your mouth and the Chef sauce was well, "chefs kiss". The Chicken Yuzu was also delicious. You could taste the yuzu and the vegetables were balanced perfectly with a soft but crunchy mouth feel. Now here is where it went sideways and the other reason for a 3 star review. The 3rd dish was the Crips Salmon Beurre Blanc. It wasn't crispy. It was seared to death. It was very thin, like a 1/4" thick, overcooked and dry like leather. My husband said this was the worst salmon he's ever had. My son confirmed it was dry and like cardboard with no Beurre Blanc sauce tasted. It was sent back. The replacement dish (which took about 20 mins to come out) was less overdone but still not great. It had no "crispiness" to it and there was a slight fishy taste to the salmon. I do not recommend this dish until their quality control improves. We eat salmon every Monday and we sear the outside for a nice crust and it's succulent inside. This was far from that. Overall, the 2 issues we had were the missing soup with no explanation from the waitress until I asked and the 1 entree that was less than palatable. The waitress was friendly but there was definitely communication issues. We will come back because the other dishes were fantastic. Please up your game with the salmon or take it off because right now you can't cook it properly. It's super easy to overcook.
