Although I have dined at multiple Stone Werks locations, this was my first time at the location in Alamo Ranch. I dined with a friend on an early Friday night. After a long work week their espresso martini hit the spot. It was strong and fabulous. Thanks to our server who got it to me promptly. My friend and I shared the chops and guacamole appetizer. It was freshly made and tasted great. For my entree I had the Red Snapper. I've had this at another location and loved it. It was just as good at this location. I could have licked the plate and I almost did. After dinner I indulged in their Frozen Frappuccino Pie. I had to ask the server to take it away about half way through otherwise I would have eaten the whole thing myself. The dining area is large and we went early enough that they were not full yet and it wasn't too loud. It was getting busy as we left. Our server was wonderful and she never rushed us. We were there to visit and catch up and we had plenty of time to do that. This location is close to me and my husband and I will make this a go-to in the area. It's a chain but is a gem. Don't miss it.

Mediocre at best!We haven't been to Stonewerks in a while. We had poor service and poor food last time we visited. We just recently tried again and Boy they are struggling. We were seated right away and hostess was fantastic, then it started to fall apart. Our waiter brought menu and immediately asked if we wanted to order. We did our drinks which were dropped off about 4min later and then a 10min gap before he came back. He asked how we were doing and we said we would like to order now and he was "oh yeah right".Food was just great to poor. Ceviche highly recommend, oysters not cleaned well and the Brussels tasted like they were out of a can, so over-boiled. During meal we had to ask for utensils twice and watched for 8minutes while our food got cold because we had no utensils to eat with. We also had to ask for appetizer plates twice. Never got one drink refill. Left plates on table the entire time and then took over 15minutes to get him to take credit card after he dropped the bill and disappeared after 20min wait to get the bill.Only giving 2 stars - 1 for ceviche and 1 for seasonal pumpkin cheesecake.I normally don't write bad reviews as I tend to focus on outstanding service, food and establishments. However, this one needed repeating.

This is our second visit to the Culebra location, both after a round of golf at Lackland Gateway course, but unhappily, I failed to write of our first visit. But now, for this visit today. This locally owned restaurant is found off 1604 in the very trendy Culebra Commons, nestled between any number of restaurants, sushi bars, burger joints and retails. The access is facile off 1604, with plenty of parking along the lots fronting the businesses. The restaurant is of newer construction, very contemporary and very pleasing in design. One notices a patio left of the entry....but a little warm this afternoon for us, so we chose seating at the bar. The restaurant is spacious, with booths, tables, bar seating, and another wing of tables left of the main dining room. The bar features a number of beers on tap, and a full compliment of libations for the mixologist to satisfy the thirsty guests. We were greeted by Koahe, serving behind the bar, and mixing beverages as well. Our first choice: the Stone Werk Old Fashioned. We love the Old Fashioned, and this iteration did not disappoint. Definitely recommend. Our threesome ordered ceviche and Oysters Rockefeller. The ceviche was not as tomato juice heavy as some offerings, but rather lighter, with more of a citrus note. Enjoyable. The Oysters? The Stone Werk offering was perfectly prepared, with pleasing and ample bacon bits topping the grilled mollusc. Another hit!! Also ordered were the beef street tacos, sided with salsa and borracho beans. The cubes of tender beef were nestled within their blanket of corn tortilla, and frankly, matched any that I had enjoyed at any Mexican restaurant. And the borracho beans? I thought my Grandma Minnie was in the kitchen cooking! YUM! And finally, an old standard: chicken fried steak. What can one say about this entree, other than delicious. The food was delivered within 15 minutes. A word about the staff. Some reviews had mentioned dyspeptic waitstaff and bartenders. This was just not our experience. Entering the door, the host welcomed warmly, and Koahe working the bar was so pleasant, so knowledgeable of the menu, and so attentive, we clearly had nothing to complain about. In truth, I had frequented the Rim location on a few occasions, and I found the staff, the service and the menu items at the Culebra location superior. Friends, I can readily recommend the Culebra location. Perhaps I will see you there? I'll be the fellow at the bar, fedora on top, sipping an Old Fashioned! Enjoy!!

Getting better!!! Came on a pretty busy evening. The bar was packed. Only 1 bartender working and she kicked ass. She was of course busy but always made it a point to check in. This has been an issue in the past where others could not handle it like she did. She rocked. Food was great. The nachos are a must when we go. The Philly was really good. Nice improvements from a location that lacked good workers.

This new location is very pretty, we got a good server that made suggestions about the menu when we weren't sure what to order.Checked on us periodically and made sure we got what we needed.Me and my friends got the same salad, it was delicious and very filling. I couldn't even finish it.We also got the spinach and artichoke dip which is always good!Overall a good experience.

Our weekend family lunch was at the Rim and the entire experience from staff, atmosphere, appetizers, and entrees were amazing. The oysters were prepared perfectly and paired nicely with a Blue Moon. Really appreciate the effort made to get me an orange slice. The ceviche was tender and had that just right lemon taste. We all shared a little of the meatloaf, pasta, and sandwich. The favorite was the shrimp in the pasta.Almost forgot the raw oysters on the half shell were awesome!

Went with a group of 8 we made reservations so we were seated once our party was complete. I ordered fish & chips, which was disappointing, lots of breading, small piece of fish. Others at the table ordered seared Mahi Mahi which they said was excellent. The club sandwich which looked great but my friend said it was so so. Classic burger was good. If you sign up as a new member ( you get emails) you get a free artichoke dip which easily feeds 4. Overall a good selection of food , a full bar. Will go back and try something else.

Came to this location to meet for a bday celebration and got there earlier than bday girl so I hung out at the bar. I love Martinis and saw a Mexican martini on the menu. Never had one of those so I ordered that! It was SOOo good! The bartender that night was super friendly, attentive and throughly enjoyed her job. The "salt" around the rim was sooo yummy! I knew right away it wasn't Tajin. I asked the bartender and she shared it was Alamo candy so I can get some! I forgot to take pics of my food but a got a Turkey burger. It was fresh and flavorful and will definitely get it again! The restaurant was clean and staff was friendly.

The food is great. All-American menu: Burger & Fries, Country fried steak, Pizza. I can tell that the servers are trained professionally when it comes to questioning the menu. Our server was using words not often used in everyday language. Big plus! Appetizers, drink refills, and entrees were served hot and within a timely manner. Food tasted authentic by taste. Restrooms are clean and maintained. Excellent service for first-time visiting. Price is a little high due to the area of demographics.
