Spread the Loaves

So many varieties of sourdough, my favorite was the rosemary and garlic but you can't go wrong with any of them. Went early and had a slight wait. This place is tiny but well worth the wait. Best to preorder online but they also have frozen slices available for purchase and they still tasted fresh and delicious after being toasted.

I recently visited Spread the Loaves and tried both their chocolate chip cookie and pumpkin chocolate chip cookie. The chocolate chip cookie was a classic delight--crispy on the edges, chewy in the middle, and packed with gooey chocolate chips, with icing on top! It was everything a chocolate chip cookie should be. The pumpkin chocolate chip cookie was a pleasant surprise with its perfect blend of warm pumpkin spices and rich chocolate chips. It was soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweet. Both cookies were absolutely delicious and made my visit worthwhile. Highly recommend checking them out!The staff were so nice and friendly. I can't wait to go back to try more of their bake goods. The spot is cute and small but plenty of seating outside

I am so happy for Spread the Loaves to make a permanent venue in Helotes. Before opening their shop in Old Town Helotes, StL set up their booth during Old Helotes Days. Now they're nestled in the quaint shopping area by Wine 101, The Cracked Mug, many other locally owned shops. The breads, confections, and sandwiches are amazing. We've been several times and everything we have purchased has been delectable. We almost always get a loaf of bread, usually one of their weekly specials and a couple of scones. They have weekly and daily specials. Their sandwiches are freshly made and ready for purchase by mid morning. Today we had their roast beef with au jus. Oh my!! Don't miss out on their cookies, tarts, and muffins. Their specials may be themed based, like their "Christmas in July" offerings which included Hot Cocoa Scones and Christmas stollen. Imaginative and delicious. The owners and staff are as sweet as pie. They are friendly and helpful and happy to stop and visit if it's not too busy. We've been stopping in on occasional Fridays to get some treats and a sandwich for lunch. Please don't miss this hidden gem. It's a wonderful local, family owned business right here in Helotes.

Everything is delicious. This little bakery is heaven in a cafe! All the bread is so flavorful and their textures are beautiful. I'm so glad we have an amazing sourdough spot finally in the city. The staff is very friendly and they will work with you on custom orders. The bakery itself is small and very cozy, and smells incredible!! Fits so perfectly in Helotes and I highly recommend going to support small businesses

I've ordered several bakers boxes from them, plus on occasion when she has extra items I've ordered some too.The sourdough loaf, is always amazing, cookies flavors so wonderful. They are large soft cookies too- they are magic with coffee. Not gonna lie, super excited about trying her cinnamon twist rolls for Thanksgiving! The markets she works are a distance for me, so the convenient location at Los Patios for pick-up is a dream for me! Thank you so much!!

I am BORDERLINE OBSESSED! Bread is my one true love in this life and anyone who can provide it to me is a saint in my eyes. I LIVE for the sourdough from Spread the Loaves, it truly makes my whole month. You guys need to come to the GNW Farmer's Market more often though!! :D
