Smokey Mo's BBQ

First time having Smokey Mo's and it did not disappoint! It's so conveniently close to our home so it was an easy choice for a quick dinner. I ordered on Yelp and unfortunately by the time my husband arrived for the order they had run out of ribs :( made me sad because I was really looking forward to the ribs. I got chicken & brisket instead for my 2 meat plate. I ordered creamed corn and Mac & cheese. I was very impressed with how flavorful and moist the meats were. It's a chain restaurant so I was skeptical. Happy to say we were all satisfied, other than the fact that they had no ribs! That just means we'll have to return. Our order was ready very quickly too which is a plus! Overall good experience! Definitely recommend!

I just got a delivery from Smokey MO's. Everything is great. The turkey super tender. The brisket is not fatty and the burnt pork belly is to die for. They will not disappoint you.

This place is close to the house and convenient. The staff is friendly and the dining room is clean. Hence the three stars. I smoke brisket myself so maybe I am a little harsher than most; however, that being said, I ordered the two meat plate with brisket (point not flat) and the jalapeno sausage with potato salad and green beans for the two sides and a sweet tea. I took my seat and started writing a Yelp review while I waited. A reasonable time later, the aluminum tray with my meal was ready. There is something satisfying about eating from a tray. I stopped by the condiment bar then settled in try the protein spread. Brisket first...always. Being from the point end of the brisket, I expected it to be a little more moist. It was dried out. Disappointed, I moved to the jalapeno sausage. Tasty but didn't make up for the brisket. I would never critique another persons brisket. I will say that I like mine with a nice thick and flavorful bark. This one didn't have one; neither did it have a definite smoke flavor. It was good, but when you do this daily, it should be outstanding. The potato salad was tasty and the green beans...well, are green beans. So unfortunately, this was a meal that I will likely not relish to have again.On previous visits with the wife, we typically get the chopped with a couple buns from the drive through. We take the buns home and toast them. The chopped is pretty fantastic. I wish I would have gotten the chopped this time. Bon appetit Yelpers.

They have added pork burnt ends to the menu, and they are addicting sweet and crispy and tinder as well as their cheddar baked potatoes As always, you can never go wrong with the beef brisket, tender and tasty Nice banana pudding staff is always friendly and love the convenience of the drive-through window

I have been back and forth with Smokey Mo's BBQ. This time I ordered the 1/2 pound of brisket through the drive through. Last order of the brisket was good all around. Nice sliced and all meat. This time it was hunks of meat, burnt ends and lots of fat. A one star performance. Don't know what makes them give me the trash meat one time and the good stuff the next. But IF I ever get foolish enough to go back I am going inside to eat and I will be right there to reject the trash meat. Wish I would have taken a picture of the junk I got.

The place was clean and the service was good. I was really on the fence deciding between two and three stars. I went with three due to the ribs. Not that they were good but based on the seasoning and so so flavor. So here we go with the same old problem that affects Rudy's. When they smoke the meats they wrap them in plastic and foil to keep, this creating a steam like atmosphere. The meat becomes mushy and not the typical pull you expect from the meat leaving the bone. This also changes the appeal for me. The chicken was better and the Turkey tasted like liquid smoke. To the biggest letdown. The sides. Beans and cole slaw. Both horrible. Beans, I swear are canned and the cole slaw is manufactured. BBQ sauce is again reminiscent of Rudy's sissy sauce. Won't be back.

Some pinto beans, chopped meats, onions and sour cream. Yummy.Excellent customer service.Meat was a bit dry, but still tasty. I came in at 2:30 pm. Not busy but again. Pretty darn good.

This review is on the Smokey MO's in New Braunfels on 46. I had never eaten at a Smokey MO's before, but I was impressed. This eatery is laid out nicely and is very clean. I was looking for some breakfast and not having much luck, all I could find were the same old fast food places. I saw the breakfast sign in their window and pulled in. I had two breakfast tacos and both were really good. Very soon I'll go back to try some of their barbecue. Keep up the good work!

So many other BBQ places around that taste like real BBQ. I was very disappointed when I went there. The location was convenient, but I would rather drive a little farther and get excellent BBQ.

Awful! Don't waste your time! Staffis rude! Out of brisket early in evening in middle of week. BBQ place doesn't think you want BBQ??? Save yourself a trip
