Food was 5 outta 5We did the Restaurant week $20, 3 course menu: Hush puppies, combo Poboy and Beignet fries. Hubby had Fried Okra, soft shell crab sandwich, with fries and banana pudding. Everything was delicious. We brought home the Crab cakes and some more fried okra.Our server IZZY was absolutely amazing, attentive, friendly and informative. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Will recommend and return.

I will never return to this location and order food to go. My husband ordered the shrimp basket sub for the sauté shrimp(not saute at all) and broccoli. Mind you I have ordered this before my husband had to send back while at the restaurant for the amount of shrimp that was in this almost $15 plate. Once he got home he was still disappointed with the size of the shrimp the amount and how everything was in a separate container. I had this before with bigger shrimp and packaged with the shrimp and broccoli together. But the star(being sarcastic) of the show was the Low Country crab boil with 2 boiled eggs added. The sauce was just a paid actor....crab legs overcooked couldn't even get meat out of them they were dirty with marine leech eggs attached to them and the head on shrimp we couldn't peel either overcooked and one had bright red blood coming out of it. It was not the sauce either I took a chance and took a little taste. YUCK! I called and spoke to the manager Lydia she wanted me to bring the food back for a refund she needed to see what the food looked like I told her I look pictures but said I still needed to bring the food back?? It was close to closing time and I would have never made it in time. I told her I spent $64 on trash she corrected me and said $59 but yes $64 with taxes. Lady I spent $64 on trash seafood. I asked for the general manager she said his name is Chris and he will be in tomorrow she took my name and number and said he will call me. I poured what we had left in an HEB bag and will wait for Chris to call me. I didn't get a picture of the shrimp plate my husband worked all day and was starving. Restaurants should put more care in their to go food...but when you have a policy that you have to bring the food back before you can get a refund or re make is absurd this is why the kitchen staff is not putting 100% in the quality of food they are sending out on to go orders. Some people don't live right down the street. Management look into a better policy that will build trust with your customers and get staff that truly care about the quality and the cleanliness of the seafood they are preparing. I will update once Chris calls me. I gave 2 stars because the person who took my order was nice.***UPDATE***Chris the General Manager called and was very professional and nice he is going to refund my money back and send us a gift card. I will give them another try but will definitely eat in the restaurant. Thank you Chris for making my issue and concern a priority.

We have been here many times and each time we have loved it! The place is always nice and tidy, the staff always helpful and friendly and the seafood! The seafood is amazing! They usually have the live dungee's and that what my wife loves! The drinks are always great and made the way you want them if you ask!The crab always come out fresh and cooked perfectly and their hushpuppies are the best I've ever had! We recently had The Catch that usually feeds 3-4 for $175.10. It came with the following: 1LB King Crab, 2 Queen Snow Crab Clusters, 3 Dungeness Clusters, 3 Corn, 3 Potato, and a link of Andouille Sausage! WOW was it fantastic, had ZERO complaints as we ate most of it but we could not finish it but it was definitely worth the price.Definitely our favorite seafood spot in SA, we'll always go back as long as the standards stay high! The restaurant is always clean and staff always awesome and so very helpful with any questions you may have!

First time coming to Smashin Crab and we will definitely be returning! The staff was attentive and explained the full menu. We had seen Flight Chicken at the Texas Eats when they had it at Skybar so we asked the manager if they had it here ...... and they sell it here! My kiddos got the fried chicken and it was delicious! We opted for the boil with shrimp, potatoes, sausage and snow crab legs, medium spicy extra garlic next time I'll ask for less lemon since I think too much overpowers the garlic spiciness. Either way sooo good!

Awesome service. Our waitress was very attentive, food had great flavor and was fresh. The place was very clean we got to sit by the sinks which was convenient to wash our butter filled fingers after eating our seafood boil. Got the trio sampler with jambalaya, gumbo, and crawfish etouffee and hot & sticky chicken wings.

Didn't get many pictures of the food of course but we ordered first starters BOTH flights of drinks they had( which were delicious and as strong as they should be)! Topped it off with some appetizers of Cajun fries , fried pickles which I mean can't go wrong either way right! For the main dish was build your own boil with shrimp head off by pound ( delish! And packed flavor and a lot!) and snow crab clusters (tasted just like the sea) haha In a good way! The service was friendly and quick to get out the apps and drinks! Place is overall clean and I had a great time with friends and family! I would say could use more napkins (my own preference) and could say it can be pricey (depending what you order) but also worth it !!(: would recommend this place!

My son and I visited this location, and our waiter was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The restaurant was neat and clean. We ordered fried pickles, soppin' bread, gumbo, and the Mid-City pasta. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The gumbo was overly salty, and the Mid-City pasta sauce tasted canned or premade well in advance. If we return, we won't be ordering either of those dishes.

I didn't know what to expect with this place but once I got here we were immediately seated and served by Abbi. She was on her game gave us great service. When we got our food it was good but my husbands crab cluster was over cooked and falling apart so we went ahead and told the manager Lydia and she immediately put in a new order for us and got one out and everything ended up great. The food was great and service was even better.
