Smack's Chicken Shack

It is a stand alone shack with picnic tables for seating. Drinks are stored in a cooler. The service was great. It was our first time and it was suggested to try the lemon pepper chicken sandwich. The sandwich was delicious but the fries! So so good!

Don't let the shack fool you or detour you from giving this spot a chance. This little shack definitely delivers the smack with the chicken sandwiches. The guy working there was really polite and had a lot patience with the customers.

It was a busy night when we decided to try this place for the first time. The line took long, BUT I gotta say I was impressed cuz there was ONE guy making all the orders by himself! Stuff was running out by the time we got there, but the food was worth it! The chicken burgers and fries were delish and such big portions! We're definitely coming back to try the other burgers! It's a small food truck but the guy running it was awesome! Lots of tables and chairs to hang out and chill.

BOMB! BOMB!!!This place is so good, my spouse, and I shared everything thanks to the chef in the kitchen because we wouldn't have finished our meals. The portions are so big and it was just so darn good. We will definitely be back.

A hole in the wall shack inside a business plaza with other food trucks. A decent amount of seating for you to sit with a big party or just two. Mini bars off to the side to get a drink in or this amazing place to get some awesome chicken if you're loco for some pollo. The cook was very nice and informative of the menu and available sauces. The portions are huge. 1 plate could feed 2. It was so great I think I'm going to go back there today as I write this review.

Great little food truck! Nestled into a little development on Lamar St, it's kind of hard to find and you'd miss it if you thought it was in the building there between all the bars, but it's tucked in the parking lot and easily missed. You'll be glad you found it!There's a nice little outdoor eating area with picnic tables and mood lighting. It's a small operation. Just the owner and one employee, as far as I can tell. Opening early afternoon, they sell out of chicken almost every day. Friendly staff, but they have their moody days too! Especially in the hot summer.Very interesting and creative menu! I enjoy trying out everything. They have special limited run sandwiches, like a hot Nashville chicken breast on a blueberry cinnamon roll. Everything is delicious. My favorite is the PB&J. A nice mix of sweet and savory, and the warm peanut butter gives it almost an asian peanut oil flavor. My girlfriend loves the lemon pepper sandwich and gets it every time.Prepare to wait a little for your food, especially if they're busy. Everything appears to be made to order and not precooked now. The sandwiches are where it's at. They come with fries, and the loaded fries are just not worth it, in my opinion.

Yum. Chicken sandwiches abound. Sweet and savory versions. We went with a 'simple' one since it was our first time. Gigantic fried chicken breast (seriously could feed 2 people; do they serve the food in a to-go box on purpose, knowing you're taking some home?), lettuce, pickles, ranch dressing. So flavorful. The one I wanted to try had jam and candied jalapeños. Also, no peppers today. Today (Monday), all sandwiches were $10 and included fries. The fries are a trip: salt, pepper and sugar-seasoned. Sounds weird, but is delicious. The sugar is subtle and effective. Don't add ketchup and ruin them!Burgers are also on the menu. Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Go there.

Happy one year anniversary to Smack's chicken shack Celebrated the new year with a fabulous family meal at the one year anniversary event of Smack's Chicken Shack. I was blessed with awesome company and delicious food! What can I say that you probably haven't already heard of or know for yourself about this place? I mean, wow! This sandwich is huge in size and flavor (Nashville Hot). A few other choices were Buffalo, Classic, and a PB&J! I loved how moist the chicken was but secretly obsessed with how soft the bread was And man, with your choice of Sugar or S&P fries (Sugar are the way to go) all for $12, it's a sold value But talking about Smack's without mentioning the decor would be just wrong. The vibe of this whole spot is most certainly a nostalgic, hip-hop infused landscape of art, collectibles and trinkets...and I loved every single choice. Their back area is a great spot to kick it and snap some pics of some dope art too. But as you drive down Hildebrand, you'll most certainly catch the amazing murals outside on their front entrance. DMX, Biggie, Nas, Pun, Em...one of the dippers murals in the city.@smackschickenshack is without a doubt in the conversation of San Antonio's King of the Chicken Sando but the only reason I didn't give the 5th star was the lack of communication regarding our wait time for food (hard with kids) and cleanliness in the dining room at the time we were eating. Being short staffed will lead to this, I know. They can't all be 5 star reviews but if we're talking about just the Sando, it's 5 stars for sure! Hope your first meal of 20$$ was also a good one. Cheers to many more fantastic family meals in this beautiful city!

Food was amazing! I had "The Big Peach" it had candied jalapeños, peach jam, and cream cheese. They serve all the burgers over a bed of fries! Fries were also good. Service was amazing, I told the man who helped me it was first time time eating there and he went through the whole menu with me. Great service! Ambiance is very chill, everything is outside and he's parked under a tree near a bar. Gotta kind of look for it! Only reason I rated 4 stars was because the food was a bit messy and I don't like messy food

Food was amazing fast service and the owner sage was awesome funny and very nice definitely recommend it
