We visited Signature Restaurant for dinner and had a wonderful experience from beginning to end!Tip: While the prices are not cheap, the quality of the food and service here is worth every pennyThe food was outstanding, and the service was first rate. We got a wine pairing with our dinner, and the wines they chose for us were both delicious, and complimented the food perfectly :-)The ambiance here is dim and romantic; it makes for an excellent date-night venue.I think I can honestly say that this was one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in recent memory - highly recommended!

Marjan and I visited 3 years ago, on her birthday, then a couple of weeks later on my birthday. Our first visit was special, the ambience, the service, the food, just exceptional. (Please read our review from that visit in 2022.) HOWEVER, our second visit was, how shall I describe....oh, yes...horrendous. The food was exceptional as one would expect, but we had better service at a biker bar. Excellent service is the bedrock complement to excellent cuisine expected of this level of restaurant, so a major, criminal failing this last visit. Ergo, our absence for 3 years counting. Nonetheless, we were hosting dinner for two dear family members, and they had never visited Signature. So, with some trepidation, we reserved. Making good use of the valet service on this frigid night, we were immediately greeted by the hostess and shown to our table....in the smaller dining area off the main room. Friends, the smaller room is, well a smaller room. The best experience for the ambience is in the main area, so, word to the wise: reserve your table for the main dining room!! Let me repeat: specifically reserve a table in the main dining area!! But, that irritation aside, the excellence of service that we experienced during our first visit was indeed revisited. Albany our waitress promptly filled our aperitif requests, and while the mixologist prepared, another member of the staff filled our glasses with H20, and offered slices of fruit or cucumber to freshen our drink. Very nice touch! Our foursome preferred the dirty vodka martini, and should you so prefer, the beverage was spot on! Definitely recommend! Bread service was provided with chef's butter, a pleasing whet for the appetite. But another added pleasure: the bouche amuse offered as a tantalizer by the chef. Pleasing and smoothing, and preparatory for the dishes to come. Our table was torn over the appetizers, but we shared the risotto, and all agreed, was a winner! Albany was exceptionally knowledgeable of the nuances of the menu items, answering our queries of preparation, sauces and sides, helping our choices for entree. But up next, sherbert as palate cleanser. Again, nice touch. We chose four different menu items, wanting to plumb the depths of the chef's culinary talents. We enjoyed the redfish, the halibut, the tenderloin and the venison. The sauces that dressed the dishes were exceptional. The finned creatures cooked as wanted, avoiding the dread overcook. The tenderloin was asked medium, the venison medium rare: both presented to our table as desired. Tender, melt in the mouth quality. Sauces can add exceptional flavor to an entree, and friends, the chef's talents were on full display. Delicious! Marjan selected a Pelligrini pinot noir from their list (full-bodied, berry taste and hints of vanilla) and we left not a drop in the bottle after all was said and done! So, friends, we gambled on this reservation, given the very degoutant service we experienced during our last visit. But this visit, the service from all members of the staff were as one would expect from this tier of dining experience. BUT, a word again to the wise: be certain to request table in the main dining room!! Marjan rates this restaurant 5 origami boots!! Enjoy yelpers!!

Always a pleasure to dine here! The service is consistently great. Starting with the wonderful hostess, to the waiters, and everyone we interacted with. The food was a set menu for nye. The risotto was a bit salty for my palate, but all the other dishes were great. I look forward to dine here again!

A Romantic Proposal at Signature~I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Signature--Albany, Alyssa, and Riki--for helping my boyfriend pull off a magical proposal on our anniversary last week. The restaurant, beautifully situated near the shops at La Cantera, set the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening. My boyfriend knew I hadn't dined at Signature yet and promised I'd love the surprise. After a few impromptu photos, we entered the restaurant, captivated by its stunning design, from the dynamic doors to the rustic open kitchen. The staff radiated joy--little did I know they were all part of the plan! Our waitress seated us at a lovely table near an impressive glass door. He encouraged me to order anything I wanted, and we chose a sweet bottle of Moscato along with PEI mussels, oysters, and risotto, which left me delightfully stuffed. As we enjoyed our meal, Albany and Alyssa kept our glasses full and treated us to a delectable amuse bouche of curry soup. For our main courses, we shared scallops and short ribs, savoring every bite.Unbeknownst to me, my boyfriend had coordinated with the team to capture the moment. Alyssa took me outside under the guise of photographing my dress. As she found the perfect spot and complimented me, she asked me to turn around--and there he was, on one knee, proposing in the beautiful garden with the sun shining down. In complete shock, I joyfully said YES to the love of my life. Riki captured the moment from another angle, ensuring we had memories to cherish. The ladies at the front were ecstatic to see my surprise, realizing that our anniversary dinner had transformed into a proposal. To celebrate, we enjoyed complimentary wine and dessert, savoring every moment before taking home what we couldn't finish. This enchanting night wouldn't have been possible without the incredible team at Signature. I'm especially excited to hear they may be opening a wedding venue soon!Thank you to everyone who made this proposal a moment to remember!

The experience at Chef Carpenter's Signature restaurant had a great start, but definitely lost steam towards the end. Driving up the road to the restaurant, there is a choice of parking spots around the front of the restaurant. I suppose they also have valet. You'll enter a vintage space. A nice floral display was present, and we checked in, letting them know we had a reservation for the tasting menu. A couple of couches and the bar area are not far from the entrance. The upstairs area is open and accessible, check it out if you get a chance. We were seated at a large circular table. Water was poured, and a team member came by to infuse based on choices from a platter: a choice of cucumber, lemon, mint, and orange. We opted for cucumber, lemon, and mint. We were presented with all the menus they had. We confirmed we were going for the tasting menu sans the wine pairing, but decided to grab non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails: Sunset in the Tropics, and Signature Smash. Sunset was very much passion fruit based. The Smash had more interesting and refreshing flavors. The peach essence was actually quite light; the other components melded together seamlessly.1. The Amuse Bouche was some kind of acorn-squash-pumpkin chowder one-biter. Creamy and yummy, but not too memorable. It came with a piece of bread, and that bread came with onion ash butter shaped like the layers of an onion. The butter had a great oniony, almost black peppery flavor.2. The Tuna: blood orange, sweet potato, charred corn, passion fruit. Refreshing, sour, and spicy. Sourness from the passion fruit was prominent. They told me the orange dollops were sweet potato, but I couldn't really tell. Flavor was pretty much like Sunset in the Tropics, but with some capsaicin.3. Scallop & Ostera Caviar: celery root, garlic chips, yuzu beurre blanc. Scallop was a scallop, though one of the scallops was fishy. The sauce had a great flavor. Slightly tart, buttery, and savory.4. Pork Belly: poblano creamed corn, picked peppers, black garlic molasses. Arguably the star of the night. Great textures, a crisp meat portion, with melt in your mouth fat that is slightly sweet; undertone of the poblano creamed corn.5. Intermezzo: something passion fruit sorbet--they used quite a bit of passion fruit in the menu6. Prime Tenderloin: potato fondant, onion soubise, maitake mushroom, truffle red wine jus. Sorry to say, this one was the letdown of the night. Unseasoned steak, and the potatoes just tasted like potatoes boiled in water. No, the sauce did not help overcome the blandness. These were very disappointing bites.7. Banana Roulade: coffee chocolate cake, banana pastry cream, caramel, vanilla wafer ice cream. A decent dessert. The sugared banana chip was neat.8. Petite Fours: interestingly, this came as a single serving, rather than in pairs. I mean, they were all pretty sweet. I didn't have a favorite among them. It was a lackluster ending. Conclusion: strong start, lackluster finish to the tasting menu (including service attitudes). Decor and interior design are great. Clean bathrooms. Open kitchen, with hanging pots and pans. Weird stuff going on with the lighting though: dimming and brightening throughout the night. The staff work pretty efficiently. Sorta neat upstairs area.

We loved everything except for the greeting we got from a petite hostess with heavy eye makeup. She had her hands cross and looked like she didn't want to be there. She didn't even smile at us. The second dark skinned hostess was very nice and made us feel welcomed. Only reason why we are giving 4 starts instead of 5. Our waitress was great and very knowledgeable!

Pretty damned good overall. The sauce on the pork rib was awesome, and even though I'm not usually a fan of greens, they were excellent. The potatoes with the prime rib, however, were a bit too salty for my taste. The asparagus was just okay--not out of this world. The service was very awesome, and it was cool being able to see them work in the kitchen. The atmosphere is great, making it perfect for special occasions.Dessert was a mixed bag. The Tiramisu was not impressive at all, but they brought out some little desserts at the end, which was a nice touch. They also sent us home with an awesome piece of chocolate cake with raspberries inside and a fancy gold flake on top. That was much better than the Tiramisu. (we paid for the Tiramisu, but the extra little desserts at the end seemed to be part of the experience - the chocolate cake with raspberries seemed to be part of the birthday dessert with no additional charge). We left with many sweets, so I'm really not sure what we paid for.Overall, a great place with some standout dishes and excellent service.

This restaurant needs to get a Michelin Star! From the second you enter the restaurant till the second you leave the service is one of the best I have received and not to mention the food and the drinks. The food was made fresh and the quality of food you get is top notch. The Spanish Octopus was my favorite appetizer. I have not had anything like it before . If you have a special occasion coming up or just looking for a fancy night out I recommend this place

I rarely give five stars, let me say that going in the door. I completely agree with another yelper who recently reviewed Signature, though - it's definitely a hidden gem. Signature had been on my wife's radar for a long time, and we finally had the perfect reason for going: our anniversary. We arrived and we seated promptly for our reservation time. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic evening. They knew it was our anniversary as I'd marked it making the reservation. However, neither my wife or I drink alcohol and the first thing they did - without even asking - was bring two glasses of champagne to the table. Very sweet gesture, and I told them so, but I also felt it presumptuous. When we sent it back, they brought us something else, which was very nice. So, in general, one of my biggest reservations (no pun intended) going to a high dollar restaurant like this - is portion size. It seems you pay for a high dollar meal only to get a dish the size of an appetizer - therefore leaving hungry. I'm glad to report that Signature is NOT LIKE THAT. My wife had the prime rib, and I opted for the wagyu. Both portions left us so full we barely had room for our anniversay dessert. We had good time here; I'd definitely be back, and I would definitely recommend it for a very nice date night location.Drawbacks: even though the portion size was larger than expected, I'm still not - just generally - sold on paying this much for a meal. Second, we unfortunately had a table of obnoxiously loud drunk men making conversation between my wife and I difficult....definitely ruined the vibe toward the end.
