Schooners Sports Bar

First time visitor, and the experience was God Awful. The bartender was cold and uninviting and even made a comment that he'd rather be in bed than serving us. There was a poker game going on that was sandwiched between the pool tables and the owner came out and caused a big scene because the "regulars" playing poker threw an immature fit over a subway sandwich that was moved from a table that was impeding our pool game. I play pool with friends all over SA and this is the first bar I've seen charge $1.50 per pool game, crazy. Stay away from this spot, the vibe is not good and we found 10 times better service up the road at Sir Winston's. Schooners is full of rude uninviting regulars nobody needs this kind of drama when going out for drinks. Once again STAY AWAY

Great little hole in the wall bar. Just passing by and came in for a few drinks. It's big inside with lots drinks to select from. I'll definitely be back!

Came to this bar for the first time, Thinking about maybe just getting some drinks and chips.Did have any chips but definitely came in clutch with a vending machine! Cheese balls! And had his own home made chilly and cornbread in the back for free offering it to the customers! Recommend! Recommend!! Recommend!!!!

If I could leave 0 I would... I went in there for the first time on Christmas Day. The bartender lady dark hair and pretending she has big boobs was rude as hell to me just because I waved and asked for drinks after waiting 10 minutes at the bar. Garbage should get rid of her.

This is a awesome sports bar , we been coming here for a long time , bar staff is Awesome friendly atmosphere with great patrons , Proprietor Becca greets you with a nice welcome, just a all around awesome place thank you :)

I will remember the place cause I watched the Superbowl here. They had free food and many Patriot fans :)The place could do with bigger TV's since it's a sports bar. It's reasonable and bartenders are really nice.

Great staff, cold beer my dad and I went to schooners to watch the USA vs Netherlands in the World Cup final. Not only were they open early for the game, their staff was quick and friendly. $4 draft beer special, along with a FREE taco bar! Would go back in a heartbeat.

First off, it's a shame it's taken me this long to write a review of this place, since I've been coming here for four years now. This is an after work hangout for a lot of my co-workers. They really love this place because it's so laid back and not filled with a bunch of 20 somethings being obnoxious. Pros: Very laid back. The atmosphere is great for 30 somethings and up. No one starts any trouble and everyone is cool with everyone. One name: Becca. She is a Rock Star. She is just what you want in a bartender; she also runs the place. She makes everyone feel special and is just a fun loving woman. She will spend time talking with everyone and party with you too. Oh yeah, and her service is great too. This is technically a Sports Bar, so there are about 6 TV's showing sports. 3 over the bar, 2 in the pool and dart area and 1 out in the patio. And yes, there is an outdoor patio with tables and a couple of benches. Smoking is allowed out there. There is a digital jukebox which you can select there or from your phone, if you have the app. Because they don't serve food (but they do make fresh popcorn), people can bring in their own food. We have a lot of group gatherings here and bring in tons of food. If we're cool and have enough, we'll even share with everyone at the bar. Cons: No kitchen. I know I put that as a pro because a lot of people like to bring in their own, but it would be so much better to have freshly cooked food; especially bar food. Size. This is a pretty small place. Not a lot of maneuverability when there is a big crowd. Not a pick up bar. This is my biggest complaint about this place. I'm single and would love it if there were a lot of single women here. But the majority of the crowd here is men and couples. I go here because my co-workers like going here, but it would not be my first choice. Sometimes, it's too laid back. I've been here on two separate occasions lately and someone has brought in a dog with them. Two different people, two different dogs. And no, they were not Seeing Eye dogs and one of them was pretty big. Now, I LOVE dogs, but this is just asking for trouble. I don't mind hanging out with my worker friends on a Friday night, but this would not be my first choice, especially if I was alone.

Visited for first time Thursday. Drink specials are good & prices. Bartender could have been more pleasant seemed annoyed when I asked about drink suggestions.

Great staff very clean cold beer great atmosphere love this bar great place to watch sports play darts play pool or just to hang out with friends enjoy a cold beer and a shot of course
