Sapore's Pizza

Wow! New York style pizza in San Antonio? You can't beat that with a stick! This inconspicuous pizza parlor is hidden in a strip mall on NW Military Highway and has ample parking. I walked in and approached the counter, where I placed my order.In addition to pizza, they offer calzones, strombolis, paninis, and salads. I opted for two slices of cheese and called it a day. Limited seating is available, however I opted to take them to go in a box. The pizza was true to form for NY style pie; the crust was slightly crispy and the cheese and sauce paired well. I highly recommend this place and would gladly return!

We wandered in from the work week to try pizza in a new town, & the atmosphere was so relaxed! I have not even tasted the pizza, but the staff has been so sweet, & the music was banging, but I already like it!I'll update again after dinner.POST-PIZZA UPDATE: I will absolutely be coming back here! The pizza was thin & perfect! Not too crispy, but didn't fall down, either! And the flavor was classic! Reminded me of the pizza from my childhood! A+! Highly recommend!

Really enjoy this place.Situated in a strip mall, the outside does not look promising. Go inside, however, and you get hit by a Neapolitan ambiance that shows the owners have an actual connection to the area. Pizza is very good, although service can be slow if you order anything else.

Very good food, authentic and nice dining... The gluten-free pizza was only a medium :( which was disappointing for a $6 upcharge. I would love a large available. Maybe they can find a recipe to make gluten free pizza for us gluten-free pizza lovers! I will be back!

Great Meat Lover's Pizza!Great Meat Lover's Pizza!My buddy and I ordered our pizza to go...  We both were anxious, to try our new neighborhood pizza restaurant. Our excitement was met with one of the best tasting pizzas, we've had in quite some time! The meat lovers was absolutely delicious... I do prefer it cooked a little crispier, but I had already planned on warming it up so it came out perfect after 10 minutes in my oven. Next time I'll know to order to be cooked a bit longer. We decided to return a few days later, to try their Italian Panini, which is a sandwich with delicious homemade bread, it has Ham, Smoked Salami, Provolone, Pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, and onions with homemade Italian dressing.WOW, it was Awesome! They have an assortment of soft drinks in a self service dispenser.The atmosphere is nice and clean, with a television hanging on one of the walls. It wasn't on, but Joe was playing some great tunes to enhance your senses.There's also an outside seating, if you want to enjoy the great weather we're having. If you haven't been by, be sure to stop in and say hi to Joe, and be sure to try any of their pizzas or sandwiches...I'm hoping you'll like it, as much as we did! Buon Appetitogeorge

I always hear about people searching for authentic Italian pizza, or that foldable New York slice, or the elusive "salad and a slice" for lunch. My favorite is when people say they want a good pizza that isn't wildly expensive.Folks I'm here to tell you that this. is. it. Full stop.If you're looking for authentic, made-with-love pizza, look no further. Giuseppe has been feeding our great city for more than 20 years and his eats are absolutely worthwhile.You can start with a caprese or house salad, maybe some garlic knots while you deliberate (the dough here is excellent), but then you'll knead (see what I did there?) to tackle the difficult question: a slice or two? A calzone? Stromboli? Or an amazing, fresh panino (hot sandwich) on freshly baked bread? You may need to come back in order to try everything.The ingredients are fresh, and when you're done enjoying all that Sapore's Pizza has to offer, treat yourself to a double espresso. You owe it to yourself. The restaurant does have indoor seating as well as an outdoor patio/deck coming soon (as of Jan 2024).

TikTok inspired trip disappointment. Cashier messed up order & when asked for missing items she said she didn't ring it up but I could go re-order. Pizza was greasy soggy, wings were ok, & chicken sandwich was McD's quality breading. Waitress left mid meal. Owner met us at register with, "what do you want?" when needing sauce. Owner bragged about business with a man but didn't bother to check on us, literally the only customers in the building. Not trying this again.

Small restaurant with good food and friendly staff. I stopped by for lunch. They do have lunch specials, but I opted for a calzone. You can sub the calzone ingredients if needed. You order at the register and then someone brings it out to you. The calzone was big, cheesy and tasty. It comes with marinara sauce to dip. The crust was crispy. I would like to return to taste their pizza. From looking around, the pizza is thin crust. I love thin crust pizza. Parking is on site, but shared with the other businesses on the strip.

Would NOT recommend this restaurant. Ordered a 16 inch supreme pizza with two sides of marinara. I asked how much the marinara was on the phone, the server wouldn't tell me. At the restaurant, they said $1.50 each. When I got my pizza, the $3.00 in sauce was 2 tiny 2 oz. cups. I complained and the server rudely said, "if you want sauce, you have to pay for it!" Moreover, the server was lying on the floor trying to fix a freezer, then touching my pizza - gross! What a terrible experience, will never return.

Quote from my girls: "Best pizza in the world!" While I do love a Sapore's pie, the only downfall is the hours on the weekend. Please open up earlier on Saturdays! Also...I get having Sundays off, but you're not at the medical center for lunch rush anymore. Take my money! So many times we are at Thirsty Pups and want to take pizzas and stuff home on the weekend.
