Sammy's

Stopped in on our way out from the corn maze. It's obvious this restaurant has been here for a while. It's a diner that has the feel of a house. They have many different options to choose from. Lots of fried food. The restaurant itself is rundown filling but overall the service was good and everyone there was friendly. They have yummy baked goods in the front as you check out.

Our experience at this dining establishment was nothing short of phenomenal. The freshly prepared food was delicious, and the customer service was truly remarkable. We highly recommend ordering the omelet, biscuits with gravy, pancakes and pancakes. We will undoubtedly return to this exceptional establishment! Don't miss out on the opportunity to experience it for yourself.

Sammy's is always a good choice in Castroville when we go exploring out that way. The menu has a big selection for everyone in your party to satisfy their tastebuds. The staff is friendly and attentive. You can't go wrong with Sammy's!

Great food, fast service, home like atmosphere. Never have I ever been disappointed with this place.

I have to say, I am underwhelmed with Sammy's. I understand the draw of a long standing-feels like home-family friendly place, but I feel like with all that going for you, you'd put a little more love in the food too. Neither of my party of three was particularly knocked out of the park with our breakfast plates. Ultimately, the dishes simply lacked flavor. We did ask for a salsa and were given a delicious homemade bowl, however, this didn't make up for the overall lack. A plus though is definitely the friendliness of the staff! Whether you're a regular or an out of towner, expect the same cheerful service any day of the week!

We wanted to like this. Had high hopes. We have lived in the area for 7 years and never stopped by. The two is for the waitresses and a great app and decent chicken fried steak. The rest was downright inedible. By far the worst enchiladas my son has had. We didn't believe him and we all tried it. BAD. Dry chicken too. It was bad enough we didn't even take any pics. It is affordable though. For this house of foodies, it's a no!

The food is American and Mexican. You are able to get breakfast food anytime. Their French toast is to die for. I definitely recommend it. I also recommend the fried catfish. My husband liked a smothered spicy chicken dish. They have daily and weekly specials which are reasonably priced. and I tried one of them which was tasty. I didn't care for the Cole slaw or potato salad. The food is home style cooking.Our waitress on the first visit was the best and had been employed there for 23 years. Forgive me, her name was either Velinda or Belinda. She was always on the ball. She made sure our drinks never ran dry and answered our questions about the menu.We've been back three times in the past two months if that is a good indication of how much we like the food.

Sammys is good. They have country cooking. It's in Castroville Texas. I've been there plenty of times and their food is good. I had no problems.

This place has fallen into complete disrepair. Selling mediocre food for high dollars. Ceiling tiles over tables are full of mold, torn and damaged. Flooring has holes on linoleum. Holes in cement under linoleum. Waitress cared as much about me as her boss cares about their money maker. Very disappointing.
