Rios Barbacoa

Foods decent, hours aren't great. Tamales are passable. Menudo is good. I'd like to try the barbacoa if its ever open when I go.

It was a rainy Sunday, cold outside. We slept in and I decided to look to see who delivered to my sisters. Knew I wanted Mexican. Rios came up and I decided that's what I wanted. The menu is super simple, so that made it easy. Got one pound of barbacoa, corn tortillas, salsa. I made some over medium eggs on the side. Barbacoa was a little greasier than I'd have liked, but, at the same time, it's barbacoa and that's kind of a given. The BEST part of it all was that I didn't have to drive anywhere fir a super yummy breakfast!!! Order was left at the door. $26 and change including tip. Totally worth it! My sister was so surprised I had barbacoa breakfast waiting for her! Winning! lol Ohhh! Completely slacked on the pics!! Next time!

Well I finally walked into Rios Barbacoa and my my was I in for a treat, all the frenzy of eating at this place was spot on. A small little place with a few tables but it's mostly for pickup. They have four specials that you can order but they all come with a pound of Barbacoa along with corn tortillas.From the moment we walked in there was a constant flow of customers coming in for pickup orders and man were they flying. I've always heard of the Barbacoa and Big Red combination but here they fly out this place as if they are migrating somewhere else. They also have shaved ice as they make some pretty crazy wild combinations from mangonadas to coconadas.All in all next time I know exactly what I'm getting even though I was a bit disappointed with the flour tortillas which were a bit cold and not the homemade style and when we went to sit down they had to remove flags from top of the tables.

Barbacoa hits the spot. The tortillas are are super soft. Super friendly, helpful customer service. The family special is a great deal.

My boyfriend and I bought the #1 special and really enjoyed it. The barbacoa is juicy and tasty and so greasy like it's suppose to be. The line was quick too even though there were lots of folks. I'd give it a five but I felt like one pound wasn't even to satisfy two people. We made about 11 very small tacos. Salsa not spicy.

Whats the point of calling your order in and when you get there they tell you they are out . Would have been nice to be told that instead of wasting gas to drive over . Dont waste your time even going

Would have given more stars, but recently have been getting a lot of fat and I could only guess is lining from where the meat comes from, believe from the cheeks. The last time I went made it to 3 stars at best. Ordered 4 #2's and an extra pound of all meat. The extra pound was almost all fat!! I couldn't believe what I saw when I opened it.

The barbacoa at Rios is pretty good. I've been going there for years, with mixed results, but in this part of town--it's the best we can do. I'd give them three stars if it were not for their rudeness and total lack of customer service. On more than one occasion, I've shown up at 7:00 A.M. (the hour listed on their website and door), only to find them just arriving around back (the food is prepared at another location). This morning, I arrived at 7:15 AM (figured I'd be safe), and they were just pulling in. I waited, and waited, then went inside. They did not acknowledge me in any way. I stood there until 25 minutes after, and finally they asked what I wanted. No apology, no sorry for the wait, no explanation--just what do you want. I asked if they had changed their hours of operation. The kid just said--"no we have not." I handed them a twenty and walked out without the change, because they apparently weren't set up to give change yet. They better hope I don't find an alternative source of my weekend barbacoa fix close by--because I won't be back. (BTW--there were other vehicles waiting when I pulled up, and they left without being able to order--that's lost business) Keep it up, you won't be in business long.

I had not been here in years and was craving barbacoa and tamales. My usual place was a little further than I wanted to drive initially. Won't be back here and surprised if they stay in business longer at this location. Walked in today around 930- place was dead and so dirty! That should have been my first red flag. The entry way floor is so greasy you can slip seems like has not been cleaned in a while. I ordered barbacoa and tamales. Everything was prepackaged and the warmer they pulled my barbacoa out of was all rusty in the inside. I left feeling so gross and should not have taken the food and just had my account refunded. I ended up throwing everything away for safety reasons when I got home and ended up going to my favorite spot where all is being made in front of you hot and fresh. I would not recommend going here for sanitation reasons. When you can see and feel the dirt right in front of your face god only knows what the prep or kitchen looks like. Place really has gone down hill it's a shame.

Barbacoa was not good! I must of gotten the last bits of the pot and the tamales were very dry. Not the breakfast I was looking forward to! Really disappointed because normally they are good.
