I don't quite remember the flavors we got, I think my husband got Coffee Oreo and I got Strawberry Nutella... nonetheless they were delicious! The girls working there were friendly, and we had an incident right after we got our ice cream, my husband was about to taste his and the whole scoop of ice cream fell. When we walked back to order him a new cone, the girl was kind enough to just replace it. We love Gruene in general, but this little ice cream stand fits just perfect in this little town!

The coffee Oreo is unmatched!! The girls were really sweet and nice that worked there. Cute spot, wish I had something like it at home! Delicious!!

After drinking wine, why not ice cream? Short walk from the winery, great flavors selection! they had unique flavors such as goat cheese, raspberry, and coffee Oreo. My friends loved the goat cheese, raspberry flavor I ended up getting two scoops with waffle cone. Nutella strawberry and cookies and cream. delicious only downside I would say is the portion is on the smaller size and I could definitely eat another scoop. clean and small store. Would be back again if in the area.

HORRIBLE SERVICE AND HORRIBLE PRODUCT! The girl in the pic didn't want to give me her name. She was yelling at me because I complained that the ice cream they gave me was melting. I didn't take a pic of it. The window was open to hear clearly and she kept yelling when I asked for a refund. She told me thats how the texture of the ice cream is. I said I have had other brand of ice cream with the same flavor and it isn't served melted. She had the audacity of telling me I was aggressive for complaining about the product I received. When I asked for a refund she said her machine doesn't allow for refunds! I asked for a manager but she said no one was available. And no number was provided. This person should definitely not be in customer service. I hardly write negative reviews but this person was unbelievably rude. They need to RE-TRAIN the staff. And higher people with some class.

After my wonderful visit at the Great Texas Pecan Candy store, I decided to make a detour before going back to my car. I wanted some ice cream! I found the lovely Rhea's Ice Cream shop, but you can only order through the walk up window. It's similar to the Handel's Ice Cream shop in Pasadena, CA, but on a smaller scale.I have my favorite ice cream flavors in mind, but I wanted to try something different. They had some interesting flavors on the board. I asked the lady at the window about the goat cheese & raspberry jam flavor as it was very intriguing just by its unique name. She said it's surprisingly good. I was sold... hey, it doesn't take a lot to convince me when it comes to ice cream LOL. Goat cheese & raspberry jam it is plus Caramel sea salt were my two flavors... why not 2 scoops, I only live once! Pile on them scoops LOL. Unbelievably and divinely yummy and smooth! Just amazing in taste and texture. I wish I have them scoops right now while I'm typing this review LOL.Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable. Location was perfect and kinda romantic as if I was in Italy or someplace in Europe. They have a bench right in front... it's a nice spot to share some ice cream with someone you love. Ladies and gentlemen, bring your significant other and enjoy some yummy ice cream together!Thank you Rhea Ice Cream for your creative ice cream flavors. Some of these reviews are VERY dramatic (or UNHINGED like that Karen who posted a pic of a teenaged worker) but the ice cream is fine! I'm confused by folks referring to the ice cream as "flavorless milk" and "watered down" because honestly, it's just mild and not overly sweet. Certainly nothing I'd toss in the trash after two licks like another reviewer said they did lmao. At least get your $6 worth. It's a very cute location and the workers are perfectly nice! HOWEVER, the ice cream is kinda icy in texture. It's not bad, but if you don't want that maybe the other Rhea's has different freezers? If the ice cream is supposed to be creamier, the boss needs to take a look at the freezers here. Please just be normal and understand that the employees here have ZERO control over the iciness, I'm certain. For me? Not a dealbreaker. It was alright! AND THE CONES ARE GREAT!!!! Yum!

Rhea's Ice Cream in Gruene is arguably the best ice cream I've had...anywhere. Incredibly good. They serve fun flavors through a walk-up window on Gruene Road. My favorite options include their watermelon and vanilla flavors. As of this review, the shop can also be found in San Marcos and New Braunfels. Five stars.
