Rabel’s Roadhaus BBQ

This place just moved from Seguin to La Vernia so we decided to try it out. Good decision! They have all manner of bbq and sides. We walked in and there was quite a line to order so we were almost going to leave but they moved that line with amazing speed, but when it was our turn to order it didn't feel rushed at all. The young man taking our order was very friendly.My wife got the loaded spud with chopped brisket and it was very good. The brisket had a good flavor and the spud was very generous - good stuff.I had the prime brisket burger with cheese on a jalapeño bun. I had them add 'pickles' which are really pickled cucumbers and really, really tasty I might add. The brisket burger just melted in my mouth and the bun - very good. I would order this anytime! I also tried the Jalapeño creamed corn which was also really good and the potato salad which good - not the best I've had - needs a little more flavor, but still good.We also tried the blueberry cobbler (they were sold out of peach) and it was also really good! The crust was just a bit crispy (which made it good) and buttery and the blueberry was legit blueberry.The only 'negative' was that the bottles they use for bbq sauce kept clogging because the spices in the sauce keep getting stuck - we watched several folks around us have the same problem - but that's an easy fix - just cut the tip a bit wider.I would HIGHLY recommend Rabel's. We've long lamented that the restaurants in La Vernia were so so -- finally a place that is really good! We will no doubt be back very often!

This is definitely 5 stars for La Vernia!! Good food, food service. Always clean! Atmosphere is great & aesthetically pleasing. I feel as though the portion sizes are smaller than you'd expect, especially meat portions but that's nearly standard at BBQ restaurants these days. Highly recommend!

Finally got the chance to try the Friday Fish Fry and it did not disappoint. Several large piece pieces of fish that were breaded with cornmeal, best way in my opinion, followed by some delicious fries and coleslaw. If you plan on getting the fish, call ahead as they make it to order.

Excellent quality, great flavors, and wonderful service. The drinks were made to order. Paloma and margaritas were delicious.

Came on a Friday night at 7pm. They were out of all meats (brisket, turkey, pulled pork, sausage, ribs) except jalapeño sausage. Might as well close shop if they can't keep food in stock.

Hubby and I are new to the area and stopped in try the Brisket and Ribs. Both were so good!! Moist, meaty and melt in your mouth. Service was awesome and friendly. Thank you.

First time trying this place, loved the brisket, pulled pork and jalapeño sausage, wonderful staff and atmosphere, will definitely eat here again

Service was great. Loved the inside very upscale for a BBQ joint Ordered the 3 meat that came with two sides plus two slices of Texas toast They also have a full car and drinks were great There in house made pickles with onions were yummy One one small complaint the lean brisket was dry Good thing they have there own bbq sauce to moisten it up

Oh my goodness!! So good. You have to try the cream corn. Nothing like it in this world!!!!!White BBQ sauce!! Yum!!!! Never had that before either. Nothing too spicy just FLAVOR!!! Try this place!! Friendly staff too!!
