We went here during one of the coldest weeks in San Antonio. Walked in from the river walk, not busy but also unsure where to sit. After a couple of minutes we were told to grab a seat anywhere. Food was good, service was super friendly. I would recommend this place, especially when it's warmer and you can sit outside and enjoy the scenery, music and the river walk.

I was attending a work conference in San Antonio. My colleagues and I attended two vendor functions, both held at Prost, before heading to dinner at Boudro's.Prost is a Bavarian restaurant and bar housed in a mid-19th century rock building located on the Riverwalk between La Villita and the Hilton Palacio del Rio.The interior architecture is a charming throwback to bars past. Prost is also host to an amazing outdoor terrace patio bar overlooking the Riverwalk. The patio features a nightly lineup of local bands and DJs and giant Texas-sized Jenga blocks and other games. If that wasn't enough fun, the Prost also houses the Alchemy Lounge, a speakeasy-style space featuring innovative cocktails. Function guests were treated to a catered variety of Prost starters and Happy Hour specials, including Prost Wings, Deviled Eggs, Prost Chili Cheese Fries, Reuben Egg Rolls, Fried Pickles, Mozzarella Sticks, Fried Mushrooms, and Onion Rings. We also ordered a round (or two) of margaritas. The beverages were solid, but definitely on the strong side. Service was on the slow side; however, there were two large vendor functions and other patrons, so the bar was understandably slammed. I look forward to visiting on a less busy evening in San Antonio to fully soak up the patio vibes.

A little piece of Bavaria right on the Riverwalk. If you're looking for a taste of authentic German cuisine and a unique atmosphere right on San Antonio's Riverwalk, Little Rhine Prost Haus is a must-visit. It's accessible from both the Riverwalk itself and street level, which is super convenient. We actually ended up here several nights during a recent business trip - it was that good. The interior is rustic and eclectic, a mix of different styles that somehow just works. It's definitely not your typical beer hall - it has a more unique and charming vibe. Outside, there's a huge patio space overlooking the water, which also serves as a great spot to catch some live music. Now, let's talk about the food! The menu features a wide variety of traditional German dishes, all made with what seems like top-notch ingredients. As someone who appreciates a good beer, I was particularly impressed with their selection of authentic German brews. They serve them in those big, traditional liter mugs, which is always a fun experience. It really does take you back to Munich (or at least makes you feel like you're there). But here's where things get even more interesting: their Alchemy menu. These folks have some serious mixologists behind the bar, conjuring up truly amazing and unique cocktails. They're not just pouring drinks; they're crafting experiences. If you're looking for something beyond beer, definitely explore the Alchemy menu. The bartenders are true artists. The service overall is also excellent. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, always ready to offer recommendations.Overall, I had an incredible time at Little Rhine Prost Haus. The food, the unique atmosphere, the fantastic beer, and those incredible Alchemy cocktails all combined for a memorable experience. If you're ever in San Antonio and looking for something a little different, I highly recommend checking it out. I can't wait to go back!

Came here several nights in a row while I was in town for business. Absolutely loved the outside swings and patio. Such a great vibe. We took advantage of the "secret" drink menu and I think our group must have tried almost all of them over our week long trip. They were delicious and creative and served with flair! Can't wait to come back and maybe actually try some food next time!

Nestled yards away from the famous riverwalk is a wonderful little German bar that warrants attention. I love themed bars especially those from far away lands. After a good long walk by the "river" I was parched and among all the other possible options, I settled in on Prost Haus. The outside is unassuming enough, fitting in nicely with the San Antonio vibe of white slate stone, trees providing some shade here and there, live music and a few places to sit. However, walking in the vibe switches to more foreign influenced. There some artificial plants hanging to create an ambiance of nature. What really catches the eye are all the nice touches of German culture, WW1 helmets in a hollowed-out keg, steins here and there, grey stucko walls that resemble the movie tavern from Inglorious Bastards, replica crowns and so on. My eyes were drawn to the behind the bar area as it really felt authentic. Kegs protrude from the wall; a nineteenth turn of the century tap system and the German nation bird the Golden Eagle. Yes, there are TVs mounted around however it's done tastefully to not interfere with the attention to details. Generally, I do attempt to grab some grub however I had already eaten for the night so I can't speak on the food however the fellow bar patrons assured me what they had was really good. Speaking of bar flies, I'm from Charleston SC and the Texas Longhorns were playing. While wanting to subtlety jab the "hook-em" fan I mentioned how Clemson had won two titles in the last decade and "has UT ever won anything?" For the record I know they beat USC is one of the greatest title games but I wanted to have fun with their fans. From there I made a friend for the night. The point is, there customers here are very friendly and able to hold a conversation. My cocktail and my girlfriends drink were very good. Along with our drinks there are many adult beverage options for any number of tastes such as wine, liquor or beer. The staff is very friendly and quick to fill the order with a smile and small talk.Overall, this is a great place to drop in and unwind for the night, get some grub or watch whatever sporting events you may enjoy. The place is safe and outback gets roaring later at night as I walked by when I left. It's a very fun atmosphere and offers everyone a chance to unwind and enjoy living.

Stopped in at Prost after a busy morning on the riverwalk and it was just what we needed - a place with some good, simple food, plenty of shade and misters on a hot San Antonio summer day. Prost is prominently situated on the riverwalk, so its an easy find just at the doorstep of La Villita. As its name suggests, it is a German-style biergarten. Our little one loves jumbo pretzels, so ordering the Bavarian Pretzel for him was a simple decision. For the two of us, we ordered we split a sausage paddle that had Bratwurst and Knockwurst. All the food was great and love the concept of the paddles that provide some of your favorite biergarten-type foods with also some customization. Like so many places on the riverwalk, we had a fine time at Prost, Texas heat notwithstanding and plan to make this a regular stop during our Riverwalk jaunts.

Our waiter didn't appear to be helpful and kind with his service. The barrel table and seats were uncomfortable. The food was not good at all. It was four of us and none of us at most of our food. The deviled eggs were extremely cold and hard, the brussel sprouts were way over roasted, the fried pork was not seasoned or tasteful. I'm not sure this found a tiny piece of cooked wood in my fried pork. The cabbage and mashed potatoes were so bland. Be careful if you sit outside there were bugs on our plates and one feel in my hair. Now we did like the atmosphere it looked nice and the live music was good.

Located right by historic La Villita, Prost is a nice addition to the neighborhood. On this instance, I met some friends for a night cap and were seated in the Riverwalk back patio. The back patio has plenty of tables for seating and has accent lighting that makes it look really festive. The also had a solo acoustic county artist playing this night and he was really good. Our bartender was courteous and friendly and brought our drinks out right away. We didn't order food on this occasion, but the menu did look to have some tasty items I want to try the next time I'm here. Overall, the location and vibe of Prost make it an inviting place to come to when visiting the Riverwalk. I look forward to coming back and sampling the food next time.
