Pollos Asados Don Jose

This was my second time here and it's definitely going to be a for sure stop when visiting San Antonio for me.The food here is delicious and it has good portion sizes for a great price!The chicken was sooo good and I loved the papa asada, it had a nice buttery taste and they weren't stingy with the meat. The service and decor are great, it really gives a nice Mexican feel!If you're thinking of giving them a try, then stop by you will not regret!

This place is pretty consistent when it comes to flavor, the chicken is always ready fast and well seasoned. Although, the last time we visited we got cold tortillas and asked our server if they could be heated, even if it's the microwave. It took about 20 minutes before we got the tortillas.

Absolutely delicious and flavorful! You get what you pay for! The half parrillada was great for 2 people if your a meat head! But can even split amongst 3 tbh. The service was great and ambiance is chill. Only feedback I have is the green salsa needs some work but the red salsa is GOOOOOD spicy and bussin! Other than that the food is good and better than the competition!

I got the papas asadas with carne asada and my food was amazing! It was baked potato on the bottom with carne asada, cheese and sour cream on top, and chips around the edges. I also liked the green salsa that was on the side. I really enjoyed the food, would definitely come back

I'm visiting the area from out of state. I happened to be in the shopping center getting my eyebrows done and I see this restaurant at the end of the strip mall. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! I had plenty of leftovers. I would comeback in a heartbeat. Thank you!

I was driving through the neighborhood and stopped at a red light (please don't act surprised). While taking in the scenery I spied a peculiar arch in the middle of a shopping center and it said "Pollos Asados Don Jose" on it, but I couldn't see a restaurant from where I was stopped. So yeah, of course I pulled into the parking lot to investigate.I wasn't prepared for what I was going to find. This chargrilled chicken haven has become a mainstay for my family and me. I've gotten to the point where I'll just demolish a whole chicken on my own; I don't need tortillas. Just give me a small jug of that green salsa and a bird expertly marinated and flame-grilled and leave me to my own devices.The sides here are authentic: the charro beans are extra and they're worth a taste. But have I mentioned the chicken and the green salsa?The food here will take you back to simpler times of summers highlighted by backyard barbecues, charcoal grills, and chicken with a crispy flame-kissed skin.This place is at the intersection of Oblate and Blanco, tucked away in the back of the plaza; once you find it you'll find yourself making excuses to come back around for another meal.

Food was amazing, seasoned and cooked well. Service was great. Would highly recommend.

This is a WONDERFUL authentic local restaurant. The chicken is phenomenal and the cakes are really good too. Rosa was also a very good waitress!

Ordered the take out and got chicken...this was months ago and I haven't been able to find this place again. Until I decided to go digging once again. Everything tasted flavorful, fresh and like real food. Also loved the ambiance.
