Before I visited Italy for the first time my dad (born in Sicily) told me to look for trattorias as the food was likely to be more like home0made. I found his advice true in Italy as well as in the US. Not surprisingly, I normally love this place. I like their tomato sauce, I like their pizza, I love the atmosphere, I love the service. This past week was not normal. With my daughter and my grandson visiting from out of town, I thought we could enjoy a good meal in a child-friendly place. We went early, as my grandson goes to be early, and were glad to see few people in the restaurant. But I was uncomfortable as the music was very loud--much louder than I ever heard in this restaurant. When the server came by, we asked if she could make sure my grandson's meal came out first as he can get cranky when hungry. She said she'd do it. Sadly, his pizza arrived about 10 minutes after the first plate, and was the fourth of the five meals presented.Everyone else was fine with their meal, but I was not. I ordered the cioppino, expecting a hearty seafood stew like my dad used to make. When my meal arrived, I was surprised to see three pieces of fried fish placed on top of the clam shells, almost like a flower display. In my dad's version, all the seafood was cooked in the stew and none of it was fried separately. Nevertheless, I was very pleased with the amount and variety of shrimp, shellfish, and other tidbits in the plate. But, when I took my first bite, I was disappointed with the spiciness of the stew. Admittedly, I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food, but never before had I had a spicy cioppino. My wife, who loves spicy food even said it was very spicy.Maybe we went on a bad night. Maybe their cuisine is very different from my dad's region and I've been lucky in other restaurants, but I didn't enjoy my cioppino. I'm sure we'll be back, as my wife and I enjoy the food and atmosphere, but I won't get the cioppino again.

Second visit here and both times, very clean, cozy decor, and no one else inside! I don't know how this place isn't a packed house at dinner time, it's delicious! It took a minute to be ready but everything was nice and hot with my pizza freshly made! Sauce has a great flavor and the staff was very nice.

FINALLY some good, traditional style pizza here in San Antonio. They even have other good Italian style dishes to choose from if pizza isn't for you. I forgot to take a picture before we started digging in.It's a cute lil joint, looks like it might be family owned. Friendly service, you walk up to the salad/pizza bar area to see what they have readily available. Or your food can be made to order. The family had the meat lovers pizza, and I had the spaghetti pomodorro. The spaghetti looks small, but it was very filling. No one left hungry. I hope they stay around for a long time, because good pizza is hard to come by in San Antonio! And when they get a good non-dairy cheese on their pizzas, I'll be the first to try it! (Blasphemy, yes I know. But I have no choice lol)

My boyfriend brought me here to have a mini celebratory dinner after passing an important exam. We always see it but never tried it. We ordered a pizza and some pasta to share. The pasta was spicy but the perfect amount of spice, nothing too overbearing. The pizza was delicious especially when it was first brought out and hot. We asked for a different type of noodle but was given regular spaghetti pasta, it's okay, it was still good. We ordered a carrot cake and a tiramisu to go. The restaurant was clean. I'd go back again.

I was on a very quick lunch & my husband & I were going to go next door to the Jamba Juice. But saw a Pizza Buffet here. We decided to grab lunch there instead. I'm so glad we did. The staff was super friendly. The food is sooo good. They heated it up & taste super fresh & hot. Even the salad was super delicious. I'll definitely be returning & will take a pic next time. You gotta try!

As a native North-Easterner, I'm always judgmental of non-commercialized pizza businesses. ESPECIALLY when they claim to have "New York Style," pizza. However, Po Po Trattoria checks all the boxes. Great variety, check. Not too overwhelming amount of sauce, check. Large but thin slices that need to be folded to be eaten...CHECK!

1. It 40 minutes to get our order. 2. The chicken piccata dinner portion has been reduced in size. I actually thought I was given a lunch portion. 3. I spoke to the manager and he walked away as I was talking. That was rude! Not good.
