Peking Restaurant

I don't know about this place. I've lived in New Braunfels a long time and would often wonder why their parking lot is empty almost all the time I drive by. My mom and I decided to eat there. The inside is quite dated, maybe that's the charm of it I don't know. I have to say the food was not good at all. The rice really didn't have flavor. The waiter was very good, in fact he was the only waiter in the restaurant and was doing double duty - serving and managing the register. The place actually had at least 4-5 tables but it was extremely quiet and a bit of an odd vibe. The food is cheap but I wasn't impressed. At least I tried it and don't have to wonder anymore.

Upon entering the elderly lady who I am guessing is the owner was sweet and accommodating . Food was good and she was trying her hardest to get around to serve people which I respect.I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce and it came out right away. For the price point you can't beat this. 6.90 for lunch and it includes soup, tea, wonton, and entree. What are you expecting a high end Chinese restaurant for that price? I'm surprised they can even afford to keep the restaurant open and living on that price. Some of these reviews seem to be by entitled brats who want everything to be served to them immediately. You ever thought maybe they don't make enough income to hire another staff member or maybe it's hard finding people to work now?Also, she was limping! Definitely a hard worker compared to so many of you who never a hard day in your life.Stop complaining and appreciate life a bit more. Be respectful. I will always support small businesses when they are hard workers.

Just need help for serving and cleaning because it is amazing for the price! Everyone comes cause they know. Love the homemade food! Annnd you spend just a bit more and can get the combo! Wish they had lomein but can't beat the price and friendly service! The wonton soup and egg rolls are the bomb!

Peking Restaurant and the owner has been around a long time and I love this place. Nothing fancy but good food and the best Hot & Sour soup and Egg rolls around.

I finally stopped in with my daughter and I'll be making this my go-to spot from now on. Excellent service! They were super friendly and it's a family run business.The wonton soup was delicious and the egg drop soup was good too. My daughter and I got the kung pao chicken and it was excellent! The friend wontons and egg roll were the best I've had! The dinner special is under $10 and includes a soup, entree w/ fried rice and wonton or egg roll. Can't beat those prices! Can't wait to come back. Thank you for the great experience!

Don't let the outside fool you, inside the service is exceptional and the food always great. Hot & sour soup is a must!

Have never actually had the chance to eat here because my husband and I have gone to the restaurant and it was over an hour before they closed and an employee came out and told us they were already closed... on a Saturday night at 6:30... Now a few weeks later we decided to give them another chance and place an order for pick up again an hour and a half before they close and I called 8 times and no one answered the phone... never attempting to eat here again.

Family owned business.Prices are great, very modest deco, food is delicious!Very relaxed atmosphere Food came in a reasonable Time. I really wasnt impressed with outside but found it cozy inside , food was great and patrons friendly

Peking is the BEST Chinese restaurant in New Braunfels by far. It has been around a long time & is the best Chinese I've ever had. I like the chicken & broccoli the best & cream cheese wontons ...yum yum..I give it a thumbs up..if u eat there, u won't be disappointed

Food is great. Service is great. The owner is very attentive and is also your waitress, busboy, and cashier. Ambiance is great. People coming that they had to wait 10 mins in other reviews need to just stop. The owner is your waitress, busboy and cashier. She does EVERYTHING. just be patient and give her a chance. She is super sweet!
