Pat O'Brien's San Antonio

Took our friend here yesterday. She has never been here. It was too loud for her. It was a bit loud. We ordered a muffuletta and it was good. Not as good as the one we eat in New Orleans but good. Took a long time to get on a day that wasn't busy. Our waitress made up for the wait. She was very friendly and attentive.

Service was fine the wait staff does an amazing job the food and drinks however are terrible food tasted stale old and was not fresh honestly pretty sure most of it came out of a microwave. Their hurricanes taste like antifreeze had such an artificial taste it was almost impossible to drink.

I went to Pat O'Breins late in a Friday night to enjoy a few drinks. They had a piano player who was very talented and played popular songs. The environment itself was just okay & very loud.

Inside seems like a nice big sports bar right on the San Antonio riverwalk. I was eager to try this place because the food looked good on yelp. I took a nice long walk to get to this restaurant and Unfortunately I didn't get serviced here since the restaurant decided not to open the kitchen because it was a slow night. They only served drinks that night. I disappointedly walked out.

I came here for a work event during fiesta so this review is based off of a private, catered event. The ambiance is nice, everything was very festive and brightly decorated. The seating was nice and the bathrooms were very clean. The service was great, the staff and bartenders were all very friendly and helpful.The food they set out was great, I loved the wings and the fried shrimp, not sure if that is something they have on the menu regularly, but if so, definitely worth ordering! Very crisp, fresh, and well seasoned.The drinks were very "meh." I ordered a margarita and it didn't have much flavor, which is strange. For my next drink I just ordered a hard cider. All in all I had a great time and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Great place to stop off when downtown.

Service has become hit & miss. I get it, but this time we had Thune who was very friendly, if stretched very thin. We did watch three employees clean one table (points for teamwork) while we sat around and waited for our server. I fear my Moscow Mule was just lime juice and water, but otherwise, we had a good visit. One standout was the wings. They are definitely spicy, made with a Bloody Mary sauce. They are remarkably light, and that made them perfect for the start of our evening

We have been visiting Pat O'Briens for years when we are in the area. We have been to them in New Orleans and a few other locations. The San Antonio location is not directly on the Riverwalk but is only a block away, near the Alamo Plaza. Worth the quick few street crossings to get to it. We visited for an early dinner/late lunch and it wasn't busy at all. The indoor bar area was full but there was a ton of outdoor seating and the weather was holding off.Wifey got a Rainstorm, a bright green drink that was sweet and yummy. I got a Hurricane, becuase that's what you do at Pat O'Briens. They were both good and we had a little buzz since we had been out late the night before. We had a good time away for a romantic weekend and we rarley get to indulge in alcohol.Anyways, the food was also delicious. Wifey got the Blackened Chicken Nachos. They were awesome, good chicken and tasty queso. I got the Jumbalaya, very good with some heat but not a shocking amount. I was sweatin by the time I finished. Only thing that would make it better was some cheese. I scooped some of wifeys queso onto it and it was awesome.

The service is questionable, our server seemed to have just started working as a server. The famous hurricane drink left a chalky after taste. We did not eat any food because it was so hot. Plus the place and staff did not seem to be clean. What we did not understand was around 8pm, still blazing hot outside the staff started removing the barstools from the bar, opening up all the doors. Asked why, was told because of the large crowd they get on Saturday nights. Never did see a crowd and we left around 1030pm. Now it's burning hot inside, no breeze, we decided to move outside. This was greatly disappointing as the outside was dirty. The table we sat at, was sticky and someone put their cigarettes out on the table. I guess they did it because they didn't have an ashtray! I was disgusted as the staff didn't seem to care. At that point I am just sitting there, holding my purse waiting on my BFFs husband to finish his drink!We left shortly after the band started playing. Which I was happy about because they sounded like a transistor radio. Individually they were probably great players....but together...nope!I am leaving one star because no stars is not an option.

Bouncers were very rude, when asking for simple directions proceeded to yell saying were stupid, and rushed us out saying that,what appeared to be an entrance, was an exit only. Not only did it not have an exit sign but no bouncer at the door either. He proceeded to put his hands on me and shove me towards the, so called exit, and he almost trampled a smaller girl in the process getting everyone who made the same mistake as us out the door. definitely a mood killer. Was so excited to try the place too.

They refused our service off of judgement thinking we were under 21. They did not even give us the chance to look at our ID's and see that we are all 25+. The man at the front was VERY rude and told us to find another bae to go to because they had too slang fake ID's that night. Lost our business forever even though we were there the night before and it was a lot of fun. Don't go here unless you're clearly over 21 because they make assumptions and judge how you look.
