NY Gyro King

So we were in the area and looking for someplace new and saw this place. We almost didn't go in because so many gyro places just aren't good. We rolled the dice and came up big winners.The place is small - two tables and a few bar stools - just like you see in NYC restaurants.We decided to try the chicken gyro and the lamb gyro. They came with seasoned fries and three sauces.Both gyros were fantastic! Haven't had a gyro with that much flavor since we returned from the Mediterranean this summer. The chicken had a slight spiciness - fantastic but not overwhelming. The lamb had a really good flavor. Both were great!The seasoned fries had a very slight seasoning and were perfectly crispy on the outside. We used the sauces as dipping sauces though you could use them on your gyro as well.We will absolutely be coming back as the food was great and the staff was very friendly as well. Glad we came in!

We wanted to try something new in the area and this had such great reviews!Honestly not the best one i have had in san antonio but it's still filling! Rice was good, we also ordered a lamb gyro and we got a chicken one instead. not a big deal. still pretty good.disappointed with their "hot sauce" it's just buffalo sauce it's not authentic or anything.Food was 3/5 service was 4/5 cleanliness 4/5 we waiting about 20 mins for our food on a friday night so nothing too crazy, the place it self is small so don't recommend plan eating there with a big group.

Fantastic Gyro shop in Stone Oak! The chef explained some of menu options available and recommended a few stand outs which were great. We both had the lamb gyros which were savory with just the right amount of veggies and tahini sauce. ( Many gyros bathe their gyros with sauce and sour cream) The seasoned fries were great and overall a very very good sandwich. Would recommend to Gyro/Halal enthusiasts.

I could eat this everyday (except I can't ) the lamb gyro with fries is literally one of my top favorite foods in life. Just yum. ALWAYS made to order so it's fresh and hot. So good.

If there was a higher rating than 5 stars, I would use it for Gyro King. We were greeted like a long lost cousin and served by Moses, the owner who moved to San Antonio two years ago from NY - and LOVES the people and area! Moses effusively described the menu items and pointed out that-his artistic 9 year old daughter had done the blackboard and adorned it with hearts. We were there before 11, and he opened the door for us. His service to-us was top notch! My husband and I shared a delicious meal, complete with extra plate and drink and "a few extra crispy seasoned French Fries", compliments of the owner. Fast food that certainly did not taste like fast food. It's my go-to restaurant when in the area!

New burrito is crazy delicious!!! The lamb or chicken one is incredible, the customer service makes you feel like you're part of their family, I feel like I'm from New York!!

We stayed close to home for our Daddy-Daughter dinner tonight. Met Moses of @ny_gyro_king. Dad and I shared a large plate of lamb gyro with rice and salad. The meat was very tender and flavorful. Love the sauce! Moses treated us to the Masala fries. Well seasoned and really good! It's a small and intimate place. If you're in the Stone Oak area, you definitely need to check it out!

One of the best gyro spots I've been to in a long time! We just so happened to stumble upon it thru YELP and had an appt in the area. Sooo happy we did! Casual order at counter and mostly to go food, with limited seating inside.We had the pleasure of meeting, Moses, the owner and a true New Yorker, who puts love into his food and will take good care of you! We ordered the mix platter over rice and a large gyro salad. Mix platter over rice- chose gyro lamb and chicken. Come hungry, this platter is huge! Flavorful yellow rice topped generously with juicy meats, salad, falafel ball, and his special seasoned masala fries. Let me tell you- his falafel balls are the best I have ever had in my life! And I have had many. This one is moist, not dry hockey pucks, filled with fresh herbs, and fried to perfection. I could make a meal out of just these. The masala fries are highly addictive! He makes a special seasoning for them and I couldn't get enough, especially dipped in many of his homemade sauces. Large gyro salad- chose lamb Excellent! Fresh greens, diced green peppers and tomatoes, plentiful juicy gyro lamb, and a nice selection of his homemade dressing and sauces. I loved the green sauce! Great experience, food, an service! First time customer- my husband stopped in to grab us lunch, met the owner who gave his recommendations and let him taste some of the sauces. We ordered the lamb gyros and got our kids a chicken bowl to share, per his recommendation. Everything was DELICIOUS!!! Fries are perfectly crispy and seasoned. Gyro I ate in two seconds, perfect pita and amount of sauce and lamb. No notes, wouldn't change any of it.We will be back! Would HIGHLY recommend this spot, the owner is generous and kind and food is so good.
