Sushi lovers: Rejoice!! Marjan and I visited Miayabi Asian Fusion last night, our date night after Valentine's Day and we are happy to report our most excellent experience. Miyabi occupies the space previously known as Asoko Sushi; new owners, new menu and new staff. The restaurant is found in a strip center on Vance Jackson, just west of Heubner Road. There is parking fronting the restaurant and around the corner of the business. We had reserved a table, fearing a busy evening after the lovers' special day. To our surprise, most of the tables were open (more on this later). We were warmly greeted by the proprietor, and surveying the layout, little had changed in that seating was found left of entry, around the chef's prep area, around the bar and right of entry, continuing past the initial dining area. Miyabi offers full bar service. Decor is functional contemporary, not glam, definitely not downhome country. The vibe is certainly casual. Popular music played in background, the overall ambient sound level affording comfortable conversation. We chose booth seating, and Lychee our waitress took our order: dirty vodka martini and her recommended cucumber martini. Both aperitifs were finished to our satisfaction! As is our usual, we began with tuna and salmon sashimi. Friends, this is our first test of the quality of any sushi establishment, for slices of the finned creatures have to stand on their own merits: no add-ons, no sauces to challenge the purity of the protein. The sashimi was cut thicker in slice, and was, quite frankly melt in the mouth quality. In truth, our impression was of some of the freshest we had tasted. Definitely recommend! We wanted to enjoy sake with dinner, and Lychee recommended their Sho Chiku Bai: chilled, clear the flavor is somewhat fruity, not overly sweetened. This young lady was well versed re matters sake, given her years experience in service in Dallas. We too can recommend this iteration if one enjoys sake. We selected their "Marilyn Monroll", a variation of the roll offered at other sushi establishments. The Miyabi iteration was wrapped in rice, crunchy tuna and salmon, strips of avocado, and topped with white tuna and garlic sauce. The crunch added pleasing texture, and the definite spice of the roll added tingling adventure. This is a roll we highly recommend. We found other items on menu intriguing, and decided to sample on future return. But this evening, we elected to order additional sashimi, and so finished our visit. Earlier I mentioned our reserved table to a near empty eatery. This was soon to change, as patrons quickly filled the restaurant, patrons picking up to go items, and some patrons having to wait for an available table. We would recommend reserving a table, perhaps should one visit on weekends, as the popularity of the restaurant seems to be growing. Marjan gives Miyabi her highest rating: 5 origami boots, given the welcoming staff, and most importantly the quality of the offerings. Enjoy yelpers!

Delicious asian fusion cuisines. Reasonable prices. Fast service. Clean and modern ambience. Waitress was very attentive and refilled beverages before we asked. We ordered Marilyn Monroll (haha) and Thai Cashew Chicken. Rice perfectly steamed. Their happy hour menu is even more reasonably priced. All day sunday. Mon-Fri 3-6pm.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. While they had many lunch sushi specials, I opted for the Japanese pork fried rice. It was excellent, best fried rice I've had in a long while! I also had Sashimi tuna which was very fresh. Definitely coming back to try the sushi rolls another time.

The food and service were outstanding!! The employees were very kind, they are very considerate and quick to get you food. They have a relatively large menu, so you can try more the next time you visit if you plan to. The entire feel of the place as well was perfect. They have large spacious booths if you like privacy and comfortability while eating, and the decor around the place pulls everything together.
