So my friend found this place and was excited to try it. We went during my lunch hour. The place looks like a small hole in the wall kind of vibe. It is all vegan. We looked over the menu and I ended up choosing the lunch special with a bean and pupusa. My friend with the same thing but went with a half veggie burger. We also got a cinnamon roll, cherry cupcake thing, the truffle sauce, black tea and coffee. It took longer than anticipated to get our food. Mind you I saw only one person tending to everything in the front. People were coming in and asking for things and I felt bad for him. He was extremely nice. My review is not based on his service. The food itself was a little disappointing. My friend said the bun on his burger was extremely stiff and his burger patty was cold in several places. The soup itself was very earthy (mushroom and wild rice) and bland. The pupusa was okay nothing special. You can tell that everything is fresh and natural. However it does lack a lot of seasoning. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back but definitely try for yourself and decide. They do have great costumer service.

The best cinnamon rolls and "pop" tarts in SA!!!!Everything else is great, as my wife and I have tried several items, but cinnamon rolls and pop tarts are our niches. Staff is always welcoming and products are delicious. Yes, one could argue the price, but this is a local small-business spot and caters to certain dietary restrictions.Glad it's not super close to my house, or I'd be here every day.

Visiting MissChickpea's Cafetal in San Antonio for the first time was an eye-opening experience for me. As someone who had never tried vegan food before, I was skeptical about how satisfying it could be. However, this visit completely changed my perspective, and I was genuinely mind-blown by how delicious everything was.I started with the ham and cheese croissant, which featured grilled vegan ham, lettuce, and a black pepper veganaise. The flavor and texture of the vegan ham were so convincing that I had to remind myself it wasn't real ham. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it tasted better than real ham, which is something I never thought I'd say.Next up was the El Cubano, a masterpiece made with People's vegan ham and shredded eggplant "Barbacoa." The smokiness and richness of the dish had me questioning how it was possible to achieve such authentic meaty flavors without any meat. It was a delightful surprise that had me savoring every bite.To top it all off, I enjoyed a vanilla matcha latte, which was as smooth and flavorful as one could hope for. The balance of vanilla and matcha was perfect, making for a refreshing end to an outstanding meal.I'm awarding MissChickpea's Cafetal a well-deserved 5 stars for not only exceeding my expectations but also for making me seriously consider adopting a vegan lifestyle. The culinary creativity and ability to mimic traditional meat flavors using plant-based ingredients are nothing short of impressive. If you're curious about vegan cuisine or are already a fan, I highly recommend a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Came is for the first time while visiting the area, and ordered a full Caesar salad to go for lunch. Portion was large. I was a little suspect about the dressing, but it ended up being perfect once mixed in. I also got a lemon blueberry pop tart, and 2 day old donuts (the chocolate with rainbow sprinkles, and strawberry with rainbow sprinkles). Omni husband ended up ordering a sticky bun. All desserts were amazing! Donuts were for the kids, but mom had to take a bite of each. Gentleman working the front was kind, and answered our questions. Only had to wait a few minutes for the salad. Good music playing as well

Being on my go to list for awhile, I finally got to check out this place recently with friends. They have two locations - one being a bake shop and this one- a combo bakery/lunch. Walking in , my eyes immediately went straight to their display cases filled with all kinds of scrumptious baked goods. Baked vegan goods made only with organic ingredients. Being dairy free, this place called my name. The employee behind the counter was friendly and patient answering our questions regarding each bakery item. They ordered cinnamon rolls, doughnuts, and a muffin, and I ordered a variety of popovers. What stood out in my mind out of all we sampled? ....the lemon blueberry muffin. Lots of great lemon flavor and fresh blueberries. The popovers were ok- I sampled peach, cherry pineapple, lemon blueberry, and maple brown sugar. She heated up the peach for me, but the edges became hard and overcooked. The lemon blueberry popover was nice- it had a good amount of filling, but the popover edges were too thick and crunchy for my liking. I also ordered a chai latte with almond milk- the tea came caffeine free, which I love. She offered agave for sweetness, I declined, but should have said yes.All in all a cute place, I might try their lunch special.FYI they offer 1/2 off their food items in the bottom row of their display case!

I stopped by after going to Subway to get something sweet and I got a couple little different things I got the rebel bar I got this like caramel bar and a concha. Everything was very delicious, but threw it through. My favorite thing was the caramel peanut like snicker rendition thing it was amazing it tasted, absolutely amazing. I will definitely be going back for that. I love that it's vegan. There's no animals hurt in the making of these products thecafé is very cute. It's sweet it's quiet in there. You can definitely work in there if you want to but it's adorable so you can bring some kids if you want to see the color it's just all on the Gray atmosphere. I'll definitely be going back the service was quick and efficient. They serve you right then in their pack up the box for you to take home all in all the great great experience.

Miss Chickpea's Bakeshop is a vegan paradise! Their delicious conchas, pop tarts, and cheesecakes will make you question whether they are truly vegan. I couldn't believe the incredible flavors and textures they have achieved and even my non-vegan friends are blown away when I share treats from Miss Chickpea's. Their baked goods have become a household favorite and whenever I bring some home, everyone wants a piece. On top of the baked goods, I've also tried their pupusa with calabacita. It instantly transported me back to my days in NYC's Washington Heights, where I missed getting pupusas with my Ecuadorian friends. Miss Chickpea's version was a delightful reminder of those flavors and left me craving for more.As a regular customer, I can't wait for my next visit to Miss Chickpea's Bakeshop. It has become my go-to destination for vegan treats!
