Mengerita Tacos

Holy cow, The Menger can do some good stuff. The Babe Ruth (#1), had very tender beef and good flavor all around. The chips & queso, while better defined as cheese nachos, were so darn good with chips that stood up to the queso. The margaritas are tasty, tooThey have counter service and limited inside seating, but don't be deterred if you are on Alamo Plaza. It's a great, quick choice.

The major plus of this restaurant was the service! The woman at the front counter was so kind and everything was done very quickly. However, the food didn't really hit the spot. The chips tasted over cooked and the meat on the tacos barely had any flavor. They met our need to fill our belly; however, they didn't have enough flavor for me. The outdoor tables and chairs are really cute. Slightly worn. The inside wasn't too much to right home about; however, the patio was shaded and I liked sitting at the cute little table.

Fair to middling food with decent portions. Basic but serviceable ambiance with a view of the Alamo. Sadly, I visited with a small group but the taqueria was woefully understaffed.

Found my way here because of the rating on Yelp and Google and I'm disappointed. Definitely the worst tacos we've had. The tacos had absolutely no flavor. The chicken fajita looks and tastes like Tyson chicken. They packed the tacos with watered down meat. It all came with a side of mild salsa that was no better than Frito's bottled salsa. Grandparents seem to love it and that should've been my sign.

We went here for the first time and it was excellent tasty clean fast service and reasonable prices. Convenient right next to the Alamo in the Menger

Solid five stars you gasp? Yes Yes Yes!Ok for those with low blood sugar and need a quick delicious pick me up...a Big, Huge....Go! Trust meBack story for those with time to read. This area next to the Alamo and a stones throw from the Riverwalk is tourist central. So when I came out of the Ralston Family Collections Center and wanted a snack,I was suspicious. The last thing I wanted to do was over pay for mediocre as is typical of these areas However,I was getting back in my vehicle for more long range driving and didnt want to stop. So,I took a chance. I felt neutral walking in and up to, for counter service. Simple menu,reasonable prices and good service. So far so good. I ordered,served myself a beverage and took a seat outside. In less than 5 minutes, just as promised ,she brought my food and inquired as to ,anything else! Nice The food looked great and tasted better. I was pleasantly surprised with the entire experience.So,skip all the other stuff and land here. Thank me later .

Tacos were tasty, nachos with cheese were really good too. Friendly service and no frills establishment. We sat outside and appreciated the fans they had for the customers. It's a good place to grab a quick bite to eat.

Fabulous team of individuals working here. I order the chicken taco and the chips and queso along with a watermelon margarita. Right next door to the Alamo. It was quiet which I enjoyed being able to eat my meal and take in the view. Walked to the Alamo and then to the mall, and then through the River Walk. The food here was one of my favorite stops. Highly recommend.

I picked up a couple of tacos to go and both were really good. I liked the barbacoa the best. The best food I've had during my week in San Antonio

Carne asada and birria taco we're ordered. Served in a flower tortilla. Meat could use more flavor. Meat was bland. Served in a flour tortilla. Prices are good and portions are good too.
