CALLING ALL Californian and Arizona transplants to San Antonio. Hands down the BEST! Salsa in San Antonio. This is what we call Mexican salsa. Yes this place has Mexican food. Not Texmex.The food is fantastic. I usually get the Tortilla soup. I have tried a few things and nibbled off of my wifes plate. You won't be disappointed. The food is GOODOur waitress was from Arizona. I wish I could remember her name. She works Friday and Saturday nights. What a sweetheart.

Wouldn't recommend. Food is subpar, the locals are just used to it so they think it's good. If you didn't grow up here or you haven't lived here long you will likely not enjoy.

Food is almost always cold. The main evening bartender is as cold as the food. Unless you're one of her regulars forget getting service with a smile. Mixed drinks are far too expensive here.

I really want to like this place. Seems like it could be really cool but the food and service is not on point. Let's start with the food. We've been here twice and both times the bacon cheeseburger was a salt sandwich. Don't get me wrong, I love salt and I've been given a hard time for how much salt I use but this was WAY too salty for even me. People can always add salt but you can't take it away. Please use less.... Service is also lacking. First time I ordered carry out online, arrived on-time and had to show them twice I ordered and it was paid for. Not sure what happened there but it was odd and they had to make my order which caused me to wait 25 minutes past my pickup time. Tonight we decided to eat in the restaurant. It definitely wasn't any better. The table felt sticky, they served our food with no ketchup, only one napkin each, and the waitress was meh. I love giving second chances, tonight was it and we are officially done with Melanies. Too bad as we really wanted to like this place.

This place was fun, we stopped for a quick drink while waiting on some stuff, our waitress Brianne was so much fun and very entertaining. Recommend the enchiladas!

Food is always great! Servers are always pleasant and helpful! This is one of the few spots in our area that stays open later in the evening, so we go often!

Sooooooo SAD, use to be a good place to go eat, have a drink, visit. Something has happened in the past few months, food is not up to par, service is way slow, very sad. Use to be our to go place when company is in town, not sure where we will go now. Hopefully they will get the old staff back if that is the issue. The salsa is still the best.

We have been long time customers here over the years, and usually it's very delicious. Today sadly was horrible, the rice and beans had a plastic taste, they had two customers at the bar and no other customers eating but took 45 minutes for our drinks, and 30 mins for the waitress to come take our order. Asked for a to-go box and we had to go to the kitchen to get it ourselves. The nachos were dry, enchilada and puffy taco tasted "off" or weird. We went a month ago and it was absolutely delicious, not sure what happened but it was very disappointing today.

Food is average. Typical Tex-Mex fare. I've been here a few times. Service is usually slow although there's a good chance this will change with the high server turnover. Prices do not match the menu prices. Surcharge for credit cards. I have not returned to this restaurant since discovering Chile Verde in Adkins. Well worth the drive for better food, portions, service and prices.

We went to Melanie's and they were good on the service but it was their food I got there burger and there was a lot of cheese but that was not the problem the problem was that the burger meat was so salty. It was so bad it was like just eating a handful of salt. The service is good but the food was sooooo salty it was bad.
