Max & Louie’s New York Diner

Our server Angelique was a good waitress and was very patient with us, I would go back again. The food was amazing and well cooked. Make sure if you go you have an appetite because it's a good amount of food you're getting for the price.

I've been to this place several times and I haven't had anything that wasn't delicious. The portions are extremely generous.Just delicious food in a casual cool environment. They offer foods that you can't find very many places in San Antonio and our reminiscent of things that I would eat in Chicago or up north.also, the French toast is top-tier. We ordered it as a side just because we wanted to try it completely worth it.

Max & Louie's is pretty much the only diner feel in town worth checking out. They have a variety of NY style diner foods. They recently opened up an ice cream spot and have upgraded their pastry chef.The amount of items on the menu will leave your head spinning.The restaurant layout varies as you can either have the typical dinner feel or be tucked away in a room that feels like a hotel conference room.Have mostly had decent service. The hotel conference room is where their service can use some help.There are TVs in back room and a variety of milkshake options as well.

Mid-Sunday afternoon, had a hankering for deli and off to M&L's. Crowded as expected! Got our name and number registered with the hostess who advised a 25 minute wait for a table. All good and took a seat outside. 10 minutes later we get a message our table is ready!Inside we are quickly seated and our waitress Sarah takes our drink and food order. We are sharing a pastrami sandwich and onion rings. AND already ordered our slice of Carrot Cake. Food arrive promptly and here's were things went South.Don't know what happened to the Pastrami, but it was dry and tasteless. The onion rings were good. The carrot cake recipe has changed since last here. A darker cake, flavorful but the icing does not taste like real cream cheese like in the past. That sandwich is $17.95. Give me a Pastrami taste and quantity like Katz' and I'll pay their $26 dollar price. Bad deli this trip.Kudos to Sarah. She was great.

I had been wanting to try this place for a really long time so I was super excited to finally enjoy breakfast here. Our server was excellent, she was so energetic and full of life and definitely from New York or Jersey lol! I started off with some coffee and a bagel with cream cheese. My coffee was excellent, smooth and not bitter. My bagel could have been toasted a little bit longer and I was a bit put off by how cold and hard the cream cheese was, definitely knocked down my expectations quite a bit.I ordered the eggs and pastrami hash and my husband ordered the chicken and waffles with scrambled eggs and potatoes.My food was 10/10 perfect! My pastrami was so moist and full of flavor, added an amazing smoking us to the eggs potatoes and vegetables. I could eat that all day it was so good!My husband felt a bit less impressed with his meal, the waffle was good but the chicken was a little bit overcooked and dry. He also felt the eggs were overcooked but he liked the potatoes.All in all his food wasn't horrible but it wasn't amazing. Nothing that would stop us from going back again though, especially that Pastrami!It definitely feels like a deli and diner, they have amazing desserts in a case when you walk in, everything looks so good and it is definitely a place that you would have to go to multiple times to really get the full effect of it. They have tables for large groups so you could definitely go with a big family or your work team.The service was top notch, we will definitely go back to try the lunch menu as well.

The food is delicious. The ambience is great and the service is superb.We would recommend this place 100%.

Well dining with my mom sister and my native cousin to try this place. I am making a comparison to the deli in Chicago with an old school deli like Mannys . It's not exactly like that. Not true cafeteria style with getting a tray. It's regular restaurant style. Anyways in regards to comparing traditional deli it was ok. The New York corn beef was good. Wasn't exactly Manny's deli with the grease aftertaste but it had the deli aftertaste. The pickle however was too salty and despite that their Cole slaw was delicious I thought it was odd to serve corn beef sandwich but ok. The matzo ball soup was the disappointment because the broth was a little bland despite putting vegetables noodles and chicken however they were nice enough to take that off the bill since I address my disappointment and my sister paid. The French toast my sister gave me a share is very delicious. I would come back for the other entrees since I came from Chicago But in regards to say it's a true deli style it really was not. Service was informative despite being A little slow to deliver but they were nice to address

Food was very yummy. I had a roast beef sandwich. The au jou was a bit salty. Fries were good but they came out late. Server was slow, but it was a very busy Saturday night.

Extensive menu with so many items made in house. I was amazed that even the pickles were made in house. They were so good we bought a quarter to bring home. That's just the pickles! Sandwiches were fantastic. They were piled high with delicious meats. Our server Elaine was wonderful and had great suggestions. Something for everyone here... Enjoy!

Great atmosphere and service!! Food was amazing as always. It is done matter what you get just be ready to eat cause the portions are large enough for 2 but good enough for 1.
