We did dinner at Maverick after seeing the Nutcracker at the Tobin. It was lovely! The menu had something for everyone, the wine list and cocktails were great, and the service was fabulous. Our waiter, Jose, took excellent care of us.

Four of us went on a Saturday. They have no lunch menu on weekends, so we all had brunch, even though some of us wanted lunch. There were 3 employees in the dining room -- our waiter, a bar tender, and a guy in a suit who didn't seem to have any function at all.We ordered drinks and our menu slections; and immediately asked for more water -- which we didn't get until we asked again 10 minutes later. I ordered steak and eggs, over easy. This meal comes with frites. My eggs were cooked hard, and my frites were burned black. I requested new eggs and frites, which, when I got them, were pretty good. The "sharable" bowl of onion soup was single serving anywhere else. The food, overall, was good. The service was NOT -- other guests who arrived well after we did got their food much more quickly that we did. We had to ask for salt, more water, and my food made over. Not worth the very expensive prices for such mediocre service.

This place surprised me as a first timer. Food was delicious and service was great. The soft lighting and peaceful music was very pleasant. The prices were fair for the location and quality of the food. Highly recommended!

One our favorite brunch and dinner spots. For brunch the donut was my fave, which they took away, and that sadly made us stop going for brunch. If they still had the donut we would go back for brunch. For dinner, we always chose different entrees and never had a bad one, or one we didn't like. You can't go wrong with anything you order on the dinner menu, everything is very flavorful. The space is quite big, with multiple rooms so you don't feel overcrowded or that it's ever too loud. It's nice and quiet for a date night.

This is a HEAVY contender for my absolute favorite restaurant in San Antonio. The service every single time we've been here has been great. The staff is so attentive and genuinely give all their attention to you as a guest. The ambiance is top tier. We've always been sat near the front of the restaurants in the booths and no complaints there! If ever a choice the booth is always my first choice. Now to touch on the food of course! The Parmesan truffle gnocchi will keep you coming back for more I would order this is as my meal every time- an absolute don't skip menu option...trust me!

**The Maverick Texas Brasserie: A Must-Visit on South Saint Marys Street**Our recent visit to The Maverick around 5:30 PM was a delightful experience from start to finish. Despite the long waits, the hostess promptly offered us a table, but we opted to sit at the bar for a more relaxed vibe. The calamari and octopus were outstanding in both taste and presentation, and the Brussels sprouts were a definite must-have! The bartenders were exceptionally helpful, even suggesting cocktail choices beyond the menu. I ordered a twist on the bartender's Black Manhattan, as they do not have Averna. Their version is highly recommended, especially if you enjoy a robust flavor profile. They have an impressive selection of rye whiskeys, and I chose Rittenhouse for its pungent flavor, which hit the spot.Overall, the experience was pleasant, with professional and friendly bartenders and waitstaff. The Maverick is definitely a great starter for the night, and I can't wait to visit again!Cheers!

Had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant on Saturday night for an amazing dinner experience. It was my first time at this restaurant, and I was very impressed with the great service, beautiful atmosphere, and the food/drink items we tried, all delicious and full of flavor! Our waitress Magdalene was very helpful with going over the menu items in full detail and made great suggestions. She informed us of a special menu they have that runs through 8/9/24, 3 course meal for $25. Amazing deal!! I will definitely be back before it ends. Perfectly located in Southtown, not far from downtown area. Makes for a great date night as it is a very elegant yet relaxed atmosphere. We had a large work event at this location and I can say the service was on point. Starting off with some amazing servers and bartenders. The bartender made me a very tasty mock-tail not sure what was in but it was delicious. The food wasn't my favorite part of the experience. My steak was over cooked I asked for medium rare and it was more of well done. The soup didn't have much flavor. My colleagues had roasted pork loin and I wish I would have got a picture. It cooked well and had great flavor. My favorite part of this meal was the cheesecake though. I will come back here in the future.I would rate the food a 3 but the servers and bartenders moved this location to a 4.

The place do look busy and lot of people. Guess appointments would be more preferable. Walked in with friends. The front hostess put down our number and told us that it would be 10 minutes wait. We waited at the bar around 30 minutes. The bartenders were busy with making drinks. So pretty much, we waited for someone to take our order but none were really paid attention at us. Knowing the place busy but situation awareness were out of the window. So yah, earned one star for my first experience.

Long cold dinner. We were looking forward to the restaurant week menu and the table next to us received their dinner, paid their bill and left before we even received our entrées. The soup had a good flavor, but was cold one guest in our group his fish was cold and sent back. My husbands steak was overdone. The waiter blamed us for ordering from the restaurant week menu and that is why it was delayed. They did nothing to compensate us. Feel like they should've given us a free appetizer or drink. Won't be going back!
