Love this place. If you haven't already tried it you need to. We ordered the Manhattan and prosciutto pizzas. Both were fantastic with quality ingredients. The sausage on the Manhattan had great flavor but the crust, that's by far my favorite part. There's a reason for why they are so popular.Thank you Mario's for your dedication to quality and customer service!

This is a top notch pizza joint way up North on 281. Probably the beat in the area. We order it often and are never disappointed. I'm usually a meat lovers kind of guy but ventured out and I was impressed! I don't think you'll go wrong giving them a try. See more locally owned food pics on IG @cheatday_SA

Why had I never heard of this place before??? Their pizza is da BOMB dot COM!I tried the pepperoni pizza and a pepperoni roll. As most other reviews have stated, it is really the crust that does it for their pizza, and they have the crust delivered from the Big Apple to make this incredible pizza. The pepperoni pizza wasn't too greasy and the crust was REALLY good - it didn't get soggy and flop around like some thin crusts do. I haven't been to NYC in many, many years so I can't compare it to authentic NYC pizza, but if it's like this, I want to go back now! Wait a minute... that doesn't make sense, does it? If Mario's pizza is as good as pizza in the Big Apple, I should just return to Mario's in good ol' San Antone; what was I thinkin'???Here are the details on this place:It is BYOB - beer, wine, whatever you want, and no pouring fee, etc.If you are eating there, you walk inside to order, and they bring it out to you at your table. No indoor seating, but they do have a nice patio with a canopy over it and fans blowing (looks like it can seat between 25 and 35) so even on a hot Texas summer evening, it was a-ok to sit out there. You can always get your pizza to go if you don't want to sit outside. They have wings, a couple of salad choices, pepperoni rolls, and some sandwiches. Check their online menu. You can't order pizza by the slice, only a whole pizza. They have a vegan/gluten free pizza and the crust is made from cauliflower - I didn't get to try it though, so I can't comment on it. I'll be back soon and get one of those babies though. They have a new food truck that is about to hit the streets in a week or two, so keep an eye out for it and tell your friends!!!They have live music on the patio Saturday evenings (and maybe other nights too but not sure). The music is not too loud, so you can still hang out and hear each other talk. They have a second location - check their website or Yelp for the other location.Last, but certainly not least, the owners (Gerry and Mary) are the BEST people around - they are so fun to talk to!

Just had their Everything pizza and 6 wings. Asked for it well done, but it was not plus not hot nor fresh. It had good flavor though. The wings were different because of breading but enjoyable. Overall, we were not impressed. Grateful to them for being open during this time and wish them best of luck. Also, just realized it was missing mushrooms, $2 paid topping not received.

I really wanted this to be a great pizza tasting experience and it wasn't. Maybe it was an off night for them or something, but the pizza was not all that. The pizza was really bland and lacked pizzazz (No pun intended). The Pepperoni's were scarce per slice and the pizza as a whole was disappointing. After reading all of these 5 star reviews, I was expecting to be wow'd and I wasn't. This place is close to family and I always try to give the local places a chance, but I am going to have to pass the next time we are in town.

The only reason why it wasn't a five star was because of the slow service. Completely understandable on opening night. The pizza was fantastic! Chewy crust, appropriate amount of toppings (Mario's everything) & faster than I expected due to the packed house on opening night. The pepperoni rolls were soft with a crispy outside and crisp pepperonis with a moderate amount of cheese--served similar to a cinnamon roll versus an egg roll. The antipasto salad was familiar yet visually appealing with a generous amount of deli meats. We're looking forward to returning & making it our Bulverde local pizza place.

What great pizza and service. I highly recommend this little spot. The food is delicious, the owners are extremely kind and friendly and they have a great area to sit outside and enjoy live music. When you're in the mood for great food, great music and great service, stop here!!

This place has not been open long but is already gaining a great reputation. It's kind of off the beaten path, so we usually think about it after they are closed. Also, they close early (8:00 pm).We drove up and were able to get a great parking spot. They have tables outside for you to eat at, or you can take it home with you. They are waiting on a liquor license so you can bring your own wine now, and they will not charge you. There was a man and lady working, and they were the owners. He definitely had a New York accent. Both of them were so friendly. They know how to give great service, and I know they are going to do great business. We ordered garlic cheese bread for an appetizer, and they got it to us really quickly. It was awesome, and I loved the marinara sauce that came with it.We wanted to give this place a fair test, so we just ordered a pepperoni pizza. We can splurge on our next trip. Also, in the near future, they are going to let you order whatever type of pizza you like, and they will try to recreate it for you. Our pizza came quickly and was really good also.A good tip they gave us: you can phone your order in so that it will be ready when you get there. No waiting. Will we return? Of course - they picked up a couple of new fans tonight!!!

I have been wanting to try this spot for a while now, but it's been hard to stray from what we know and trust. We finally gave it a shot, and we unfortunately won't be trying again. I really wanted to like this place, and maybe that's why I was underwhelmed. Specifics: there wasn't nearly enough cheese, for my liking. I don't like to see that much sauce and crust, from an aerial view. The salad was reminiscent of a school cafeteria salad, if such a thing exists. I will say, though, that the girls in the front were very nice. Also, the tiramisu was good, but it was a smaller than normal serving.I'm very sorry, Mario's, and it is tough to write this review, but if I was a business owner, I would want to know what my customers thought. Knowledge is power, and hopefully someone else with similar tastes won't fall victim to another cheese shortage.I wish you all the best of luck, and many decades of success.

Where do i start.... was working in the area and yelped a pizza place to eat at, saw 4.5 stars for Mario's so i decided to try this place out. I ordered a pepperoni pizza with wings, Pizza came out within 10-12 minutes. Pizza was a chewy consistency and had no crisp, as soon as i picked up the first slice, half of the cheese and pepperoni fell off. At this point I'm staying optimistic. Opened my container of wings to a order of pre battered more than likely previously frozen bagged wings that were fried to order. The wings were not good at all, the taste and texture were the type of 711 wings or some truck stop wings not good at all! They only sell bottled beverages for drinks so don't expect a cup of ice to keep your drink cold of your dining in. I am a very strong believer of supporting local businesses but this is not a place i will be recommending or be returning to.
