Driving around in search of some good Mexican breakfast fare, we discovered Los Laureles. This cozy little place is located right off of I-10. The first thing I noticed about it was how clean the place was. The second thing was how many people were in line for pick-up orders. Business was very brisk which is a good sign of any restaurant. I ordered my usual carne guisada and cheese as well as a bacon, bean and cheese taco. The beans were a little runny, but not a deal-breaker. They had a good flavor and the bacon was crispy which complimented the bean texture in a good way. The cheese was melted just right. The tortillas were a little thick for my liking, but tasted homemade and had a really awesome flavor. The carne guisada was tasty, but the meat was a little tough. It could have simmered for a longer period, but the guisada sauce was flavorful and not overpowering. The salsa was a definite winner and packed a punch. While not on my top ten list of taco joints, Los Laureles is a solid choice for anyone in search of a good Mexican breakfast.

Just had breakfast at Los Laureles - great machacado - coffee was excellent - not just hot water - I knew when I saw a posting for a gathering here, that this was going to be a great restaurant. My Mom's maiden name was Laurel.

I've been to Los Laureles twice. Ordered the Chilaquiles the first time and a couple of breakfast tacos on the second visit.First, the place is CLEAN and the waitstaff is courteous, Without those two criteria being met, I won't return to any restaurant. The Chilaquiles were nice and crispy and just the right amout of eggs, cheese and optional sauce. The refried beans were fresh and potatoes were not greasy, but tasty. The breakfast tacos: I ordered one chorizo/egg and a bean & cheese with bacon. The ingredients were great, but I wasn't crazy about the flour tortilla. In fairness, that's a matter of personal preference, though, as I love the flour tortillas at Blanco. Still, I would definitely return and try out their lunch on my next visit. BTW, the girls speak very little English, but they're cute and motivate me to brush up on my Espanol!!...LOL.

One of my favorite little breakfast spots in the city. One of the few authentic Mexican breakfast menus as well as all of our Tex mex favorites. The corn tortillas are to die for and the chilaquiles are my absolute favorite. Service can be a tad slow, but everyone is super friendly.

As others have mentioned this is a small place but don't let that fool you. the food is very good here. They offer great lunch specials and always on point. Just make sure you get there early. Sometimes they tend to sale out due to the demand. Great food at a great price. Again the owner is very friendly and awesome. Family and I frequent here for lunch.

Was the perfect Mexican breakfast with the perfect cup of coffee. I had the migas plate with beans and potatoes. It seriously took me back to my childhood, that's how you really know the food is good. Highly recommend! Very Authentic. Might want a translator.

The place is very small so it may benefit one to arrive early between 6 and 7 a.m. to get a decent parking spot. The wait staff appeared to be friendly. The tables were small but well maintained. I was surprised that a few of the people pictured in the Yelp app were actually there. I guess they were regular customers. I had read based on reviews that their coffee was great. The coffee I received was a very small cup (European style) and the coffee was not all that great. Now comes my review of the food. The menu prices were decent. I ordered a Machado taco and a carne guisada taco. The tacos were small but tasty. The carne guisada had generous amounts of pepper. The machacado taco was very good. Overall I would say it is an average decent little restaurant.
