Since the price of beef has skyrocketed, the prices have gone up, but still the best value in SA. Salads fresh, and fastest full meal you can get!

Really wasn't sure what to expect going to the oldest steakhouse in San Antonio, I was not disappointed! Love seeing your family run restaurant with such a warm and comforting, feeling as you walk in the door. Stamps of all the ranches they get their beef from surrounding the walls. My server was phenomenal! Walked me through the menu, explaining it was my first time here.Definitely as old-school steakhouse as you're gonna get. Salad upon sitting down at the table I had the extremely old-school green goddess dressing that was phenomenal again recommended by my server. The steak though could've been seasoned a bit more was cooked perfectly and a vegetables rounded out a great meal. Will definitely be returning!

First, let me start off by saying the place looked and smelled clean. No longer was it the dirty smelling, sticky floored place of my childhood. Big plus. Not so much of a plus, the lighting situation. But let me get to the food. Service, was great. Our waitress was sweet, quick, checked on us often. Loved the service. But let me tell you what I didn't love. The food. Least favorite, the baked potato. It's a potato wrapped in foil, tossed in an oven I assume and brought to table in said foil. Poke a few holes, season the outside..do something more with it! It was a depressing bite. The chicken fried steak was bland and an incredibly small portion for the price. Looked like a frozen piece of meat that was heated and served with goopy thick gravy that may have been sitting out for a bit (mind you we were there about noon). Also, can the restaurant explain their chicken tender policy? A kids meal is 8 bucks and comes with a single tender. So I figured, you know let me order the adult tender meal for my 2 Littles to split...it's literally $17 for 2 tenders and a handful of fries!? What? Also why are the fries seasoned better than the chicken or chicken fried steak??The steak and shrimp, incredibly pricey but not as flavorful as other steakhouses. The shrimp were cooked well but again, no seasoning. I will say the tartar sauce was delicious. I'm also glad the green goddess salad dressing recipe is the same from my childhood. The salad though...mostly the overly crunchy thick white cuts from the lettuce. No actual leafiness. It also leaves a lot of water in the salad bowl, which wasnt very appetizing. Overall, it felt like a nostalgic visit that left me questioning my childhood memories. I remember visiting this restaurant with family for every special occasion but now, I don't think I could ever return.

The Little Red Barn was a great spot for a casual and relaxed meal. The atmosphere was inviting and low-key, perfect for an easy night out. The salad was simple but fresh, and the steaks exceeded expectations with how flavorful and well-prepared they were. The service was impressively speedy, which made the experience even better. The prices were reasonable, making it a place I'd definitely return to. If you're looking for a laid-back setting with surprisingly tasty food and quick service, this is a great choice!

Love this place! Homie country family style seating. Friendly weight service and very casual atmosphere. And the food is quick and extremely satisfying. My New York strip was fantastic. All the sides also very good.

One of my favorites back in the day and about 15 years since my last visit. An iconic landmark. Not much has changed cattle brands & menu items on the walls. As well as servers in western themed attire, salads delivered as you're seated and salad dressing on the tables. Meeting a bunch from back in the day. A little chaotic - 20+ people will do that. Kept the server on his toes, seemed like he was always running. However he did a great job keeping it together. Ordered a small prime rib - rare. Came out as ordered and what I was able to eat before it got cold(pictures, catching up & arriving after most people had eaten didn't help) was delicious. Now I remember why I used to come here often.

Service was great. Everyone was very kind, and genuine & very sweet to interact with. The starter salad that came 10 min before my drink order was gross. The ranch just tastes like mayo. 1/10Tea is interesting that they leave you with the entire pitcher- but from someone in the service industry. I get it. MOST Sweet tea drinkers drink fast and have 3 . fair enough. 8/10Hated that the baked potato "fixings" come to the table in prepped 1 oz containers. Hate it for so many reasons..could argue about it for a solid 5 minutes. I digress. 1/10. The rolls are good. 7/10The chicken fried steak w/ white gravy was immaculate. 10/10. Finally -The steak with the shrimp...to the restaurants credit- we didn't ask. But on the menu billboard it just says steak & shrimp. Had I known it was fried shrimp I would not have ordered it bc my gf is gluten free.. I ate them & they are good. I just wish it had read that way in the menu. The steak..was...not good frankly. Tasted like hamburger meat, consistency and all. Worst restaurant steak I have ever had. So for a STEAKHOUSE very underwhelming. 2/10. Overall I found this restaurant disappointing. It's in the neighborhood so I wanted to give it a try! I felt as if the quality of the food did not match the price tag. I think with some fine tuning they could be really great! The restaurant is large and a great position downtown to host many people. But is lacking quality.
