Little Jamaica on Wheels

I was looking for a place to eat and fate brought me here.Little Jamaica has a hard stand place, but this review is for my food truck experience at the AAFES parking lot at Fort asam Houston.The curry goat was delicious, but I am also looking forward to the oxtail.The service was great. Friendly and quick, Ms. Yolanda explained their set up locations, and offered me the I think I waited less than 5min to get my complete order.If you were interested in something quick and easy, consider their beef patties. Spicy and tasty.Service is A1, food is next level. Certainly a good alternative to burgers and BBQ...which I love, but enjoy a break from. Waiting for the next time.

The staff is friendly and courteous. The vibe of the restaurant is chill. As far as the food goes; here the scoop...We ordered the jerk chicken meal (rice & peas and plantains) and the Red Snapper w/ brown stew gravy (rice & peas and steamed cabbage)Having grown up eating authentic Jamaican and Caribbean food, I have to say that this jerk chicken leaves something to be desired. It was lacking that authentic flavorful slice combo that you think of with Jerk ChickenThe rice and peas were a bit mushy and the plantains were very greasy. Now the red snapper w/ the brown stew gravy was very good. The fish was very meaty and the gravy was robust with flavor. I'm willing to go back and give them another shot with their other menu items. I was SUPER HAPPY that they offered Kola Champagne in the bottle for a drink. Give them a try and see what you think

The best door dash decision I have ever made. Everything fresh and hot. The oxtail was the best I've had in years. The cabbage was perfect and the jerk shrimp had a nice kick to it . I hope they are around for years to come .

I'm torn about writing this review.I'll give the FOOD, four out of five .But the CUSTOMER SERVICE today was a solid one ! I don't know if the young lady working the cash register was having a bad day or what, but some 'Chic-fil-a customer service training' should be in her future. (Service with a smile at least).We could barely hear what she was saying, as we told her what we wanted. When we asked her to repeat what she said, you could cut the attitude from her, with a plastic knife. The attitude and professionalism of the staff usually determines whether or not if I'll go back to a particular restaurant, verses the food.I know sometimes we say, oh, that's just how so and so is. But that's a big no-go when it comes to customer service!‍‍The lady who brought our food to our table, was as lovely and pleasant as could be. That helped!A suggestion I have is, if they're going to play music, play music from the Caribbean islands, to add to the ambiance of the place. Put the TV on a sports channel (soccer, cricket), a cooking show, or something related to the Caribbean. The TV blasting some kiddie show, competing with the 80s or 90s music was a big distraction. Anyway, like I said, the food is great, but call ahead to make sure they have what you want on the menu.

I ordered the oxtail with two sides rice and peas and fried plantain. The food was prepared fairly quick at lunch time. I was there at noon and waited no more than 15 minutes.

The food is so expensive, it's not worth it!!! The Curry Shrimp does not have any taste at all!!! I ordered a large one with 10 small shrimps. They gave a bunch of rice though. So, it's like you bought a large order of rice for $19. Definitely will not come back!!!!!

Very good food and excellent service every time I stop in. My favorite is the plantains and the Goat Curry. Absolutely amazing!!

the goat curry was good with tender meat. The cabbage surprised me as well and all enjoyed it with the rice although it was good i feel like the price is a bit high.

I wish I would have read the reviews before ordering but sadly when I have a taste for some good oxtails...Sadly I must say for the value of what they give you here vs what you pay doesn't add up.I purchased a large plate just to give me a good portion it was totally not worth it.I won't be revisiting! Unfortunately the Jamaican Restaurants here in San Antonio are the same, their attitudes are horrible .My choice where I choose to spend my hard earned money!

Picture this. San Antonio 3.5.22! It was my first time trying Jerk Chicken and when I tell you : I am STILL in awe looking at the remnants of the to-go box. This BLACK OWNED BUSINESS deserves a high score and more!!!! I have a new addiction now. The jerk chicken was moist and seasoned perfectly, the plantains were amazing and the steamed cabbage............. Yalllllllll!!! This small place is PACKED WiTH flavor and TOP GRADE service!!!!
