What a great little neighborhood dive bar! Not in my neighborhood, though, so minus one star. Just joking.I heard this was a fun place to go from my friends in the neighborhood so we decided to meet up here one weekday night. The door guy carded us, luckily my AARP card was accepted. Sidenote: That card is impending. We arrived at about 7 and there were a couple people at the bar, but we heard it was also karaoke night so people were trickling in throughout the evening. Everyone was friendly and chatty. They have a decent selection of beer and spirits, probably a little something for everyone.I learned that there is a jukebox and you can buy music on an app. This definitely kept the vibe interesting. Lighthouse was a fun night and I'm sure we'll be back again.

This place is a little gem every other Wednesday night for jam sessions! A friend described it as "like being in a live jukebox " and that's exactly what it is! You never know what random musician will walk thru the door.

I have been meaning to hit up this gem of a bar ever since I moved in the area. Ahhh why didn't I go sooner, I had such a fun time!! Picture this, random Tuesday night meet up with a friend and enjoy great drinks and karaoke. That's exactly what went down. We stayed until 1:30amThey had karaoke setup and nobody was shy. It was super great vibes with singing along and dancing. The entire bar is a great vibe. The people around held great conversation and it's like an easy time to enjoy yourself. It was the perfect spontaneous Tuesday night that had my young 30s butt tired for work on Wednesday BUT it was oooooh sooooo worth the fun. If you're looking for a low key vibe but high key on fun and great drinks check out The Lighthouse.

We came early (~7:30 PM) on a Saturday night and the place looked empty as they were setting up for their 2-year anniversary band, Sexto Sol. Best combo prices ($5) in town from a friendly bartender. As we sat outside, this place started to get packed with people streaming in as DJ Sunnyboy played some great tunes. The other couple are early birds that was too tired to stay for the band and wish I would have been able to hear them, as the bartender said the guitarist opened for Aerosmith and plays some soulful rock tunes. If you are looking for a local watering hole with a nice little deck area that sees the sun set over Woodlawn lake, then you will have to check this place out.

There are "dives" and then there are really "dives." The thing for me is what exactly quantifies being one? Is it location? Decor or lack thereof? The audience? No matter how well rounded a person you believe yourself to be you should have at least one in your pocket. A place where you can let your hair down. Trust me I've been to a few lounges so pretentious even a dollar- fifty can of Lonestar Beer turns into a fashion statement. But I digress. The Lighthouse Lounge across the street from Woodlawn Lake fits perfectly into that category. It's a semi small spot trying not to be anything except itself. First the basics. There is finite parking up front but a little opens up in the back. Before you step inside the doorperson takes your temperature. In all honesty I haven't been greeted this way in a long time(Reminded me of Tacoland). Entering inside I was struck by its aesthetics: an old pool table, velvet paintings, antique lamps, squeaky leather furniture and cow skulls on the walls. There is ample seating indoors but patrons were mostly hanging outside on the patio.Walking through I was reminded of the biker scene in "True Detective Season 1" meets "Threes Company." Needless to say it's very quirky, right up my alley. This is not to dissuade nor scare you into not going. If you're planning on ordering a bottle of 1929 Chardonnay from the French Alps of Bordeaux. Or a Trappist Ale from a hidden monastery in Belgrade this place might not be for you. Instead there is a small bar that serves mixed drinks, micheladas and a very small selection of beer at decent prices. I opted for Freetail' s Soul Doubt and Community Axis IPA at 5 bucks a can. They also carry Bud, Lonestar, PBR, etc but only in can. If you're wanting a beer on tap there is none. In addition if you're used to a server coming to your table to take your order don't hold your breath. Instead you go to the counter and the friendly barkeep will help you. Sitting here drinking my two beers whilst listening to Sade's, "No ordinary love" I reflected on this area. Growing up not too far from here there used to be a plethora of neighborhood bars. Instead this area has been rebranded as "The Monticello/Deco District" to attract a more upscale demographic. Sure I saw a few curious millenials who were here for the Happy Hour(7pm-9pm). But I also saw a couple who looked like art teachers. And another well into their Golden Years. In other words there's a cross section of all types and ages. No bar and club can be for everyone all the time. However if you are into new, unique experiences The Lighthouse Lounge might be your new hangout. The vibe is like you're at someone's house party minus Kid N Play. The beers are cold. The staff is friendly. They have DJ's that play 70's Yacht Rock, R&B, Oldies but Goodies on given nights. Plus you have a view overlooking Woodlawn Lake into the evening. If you happen to be in the hood please check it out. ps. I was air drumming to the Blue Oyster Cult's, "Burning for You" and the door person gave me that "More Cowbell!" look.

Nice little hole in the wall bar. I went there because of the pictures. Kinda gave me a chill artsy vibe. That actually wasn't the case.. they had a band playing rock covers, they were pretty good, crowd was amped and drinks were priced well.Over all, pretty low key, would recommend if you're looking for affordable drinks and a place to sit and listen to loud music and chill.

I really liked this place. We sat on the small patio and enjoyed a nice evening with friends. The prices are totally reasonable and it wasn't painful when we paid the bill at the end of the night. With COVID, there wasn't a whole lot going on inside but I know they have DJ's on certain nights and there was a food truck parked on the side if you were looking for a quick bite. They did temperature checks at the door which is rare and totally appreciated. This is a great neighborhood bar, I look forward to coming back.

Decided to give this place a try on a Saturday night. Came around 11pm, a nice decent crowd. It is currently 12:40pm and people are coming, showing out. the vibe is great, the people are friendly. I'm probably the youngest one here (24) but I am not complaining one bit. Drinks are very affordable. Would def be coming back again.
